Home Match Rentals Company (HMRC) is a service provider that frauds people who are looking for short/long term rental properties. The company is supposed to provide the customer with contact information for rental properties in the requested areas and price. I was looking for a studio/1 bedroom near University Ave and College (University of Toronto) for August and September 2010. I gave Omar Akim (sales agent in Weston Office: 1923 Weston Road, York, ON Office 3) a $145 cash deposit on April 26, 2010. Omar Akim explained that in the case that they matched me with a rental property, they would keep half the deposit and refund the other half and in the case that I did not find a rental property through their service a full refund will be given. I submitted a refund request form on May 5, 2010 because HMRC failed to provide me any rental properties that were close to my requested location and available for short term (2 months) rental. Thus, I did not visit any listings. The refund request form states that it takes 2-3 weeks to process a refund and to email homematchrentals.live.ca for inquiries. I made multiple calls and sent multiple emails in order to find out the status of my refund and to obtain a tentative date for my refund. Most times HMRC did not reply and when they did, they simply stated that they were looking into the matter. I allowed almost 10 weeks of processing time. They have the poorest rating on the BBB. STAY AWAY IT IS A FRAUD, I STILL HAVE NO REPLY FROM Dave Williams. its been 4 months
