Terrible experience
We placed an order with Homecenter.com -supposedly the item was in stock. Almost two weeks later we emailed on a Thursday morning to check status...we did not receive a response. After several unanswered calls and over one hour on hold on Friday evening we still had no response to either phone or email. So, we decided to cancel the order and place it elsewhere. Only when you cancel an order do you get a response..He still didn't know the status but did know that he would charge 25% restocking fee plus shipping both ways plus cancellation fee. Shop elsewhere!

Scam masquerading as legitimate business
Avoid this company like the plague. All products are in stock ready to ship unless you order them, after which there is a minimum 3 week lead time unless you agree to pay an undisclosed amount more to have it shipped sooner. They charge your card immediately, then offer to cancel your order for a 25% fee if you decide not to wait an indeterminate amount of time for the product to be shipped. Unless you are placing a new order, they will ignore most of your calls and emails, occasionally providing you with a ship date that will come and go with no shipment and no further response from them.

Worst of the Worst
DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH HOMECENTER.COM! After buying tens of thousands of dollars of products from several online companies over the years, this is by far the most amateur organization I have ever dealt with. I only wish I had seen complaintsboard.com before I ordered from them. Everything you read on the other postings is all accurate. Slick looking website, no communication, bait and switch on prices, impossible to get a hold of anyone either by email or on the phone.

Defective merchandise
I sent e mails to George, Anita, Christina, and Brian on the following dates: 03/31/2008, 04/10/2008, 04/18/2008, 5/12/08, 06/05/2008, 7/2/08, 07/14/2008, 8/12/08. George promised me a complete refund back in January of 2008 when I placed my big order. For three months, I was unable to return their defective merchandise because they would not give me a return voucher. Finally, the three defective plumbing fixtures were returned to the company by UPS about 04/13/08. After calling them several times, in August, 2008, I received a refund credit of $982.21 minus a 15% ($157) restocking fee that they had no right to charge me because they sold me defective merchandise. They kept my $982.21 for over six months. I was never able to get the remaining 15% of the money the company owed me.

false advertising/customer service
WORST COMPANY EVER!! I HAVE SHOPPED ONLINE FOR YEARS FOR EVERYTHING IMAGINABLE AND HAVE NEVER ENCOUNTERED THE PROBLEMS I HAVE HAD WITH THIS COMPANY!! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!!! READ THE COMPLAINTS ONLINE!! THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY AND COULD CARE LESS IF YOU COMPLAIN. I HAVE FILED FORMAL COMPLAINTS WITH THE FCC AND BBB.

refund problem
I ordered and paid by VISA for two water filters and the wrong filters were shipped. So I returned the merchandise after obtaining their authorization to do so and was charged a second time when they sent out the correct filters. The merchant wanted to charge me mailing fees for the return and restocking charges even though they made the error. After several emails, that was straightened out. But I did not receive a refund for the returned merchandise for 3 months despite repeated calls and emails. To get the refund, I had to file a complaint with VISA, and submit various papers proving that I was authorized to return the merchandise, that I had done so, and that Homecenter.com had received it, . Once the VISA complaints department received the paperwork, they credited my account and deducted the amount from Homecenter.com in 3 days. I would not do business with Homecenter.com again under any circumstances.

Complete scam
Ordered a ceiling lamp from them in August. Their website showed the item in stock. My credit card was charged in full ( $464.18). After 1 week I got an email saying there would be another 2 weeks before it gets shipped, or to pay more to get it faster (classical bite and switch)
After the 2 weeks I get another email saying there would be another 4 weeks before shipping. Still the homecenter.com shows the item in stock. I sent an email asking for clarification. When I got a response from a certain Brian Orkin, he asked me to indicate where the website was showing quantity in stock. So I had to send them a link to their own website...
After that I decided to cancel the order, realizing I was taken for a ride. What followed more than confirmed it.
Countless calls to customer support... Hours waiting to talk to somebody... When finally getting to talk to somebody, after a couple initial questions, I would get dropped again in the waiting queue. Sometimes, when getting past the initial questions, there would story after story of excuses, like: we have first to cancel the order with the manufacturer, the person crediting account is not here, we have to check this, we have to check that, etc... On a particular occasion I even get the HomeCenter person suggesting to talk to my bank about stopping the payment (unfortunately I paid by credit card).
Do not ever buy form them, COMPLETE SCAM !

Do not purchase anything from this internet retailer! After placing an order for a medicine cabinet which was expected to be in stock, it took a week and half before they confirmed that it actually was not and that there would be a 2 month wait from the manufacturer. After having to wait more than half an hour just to get through customer service to confirm the delay, I was told they did not have authority to cancel the order and that was handled by another department, thus another long wait. Even after contacting cancellations, they tell you not to order somewhere else as they have to confirm to ensure the cancellation which takes another few days. Despite being told by two reps that I would be refunded the entire amount of my order, I was charged a 4% cancellation fee, which I only noticed after checking my credit card account. It was the worst customer service you could possibly imagine. Even if they may advertise some of the lowest prices, it is not worth everything that could go wrong, which did go wrong. Buyers beware!

ripoff
I ordered an expensive from Homecenter.com on a Saturday. I was told that the sink was in stock. The following Monday, i called to find out when the sink would ship and was told that the sink was not in stock. I immediately cancelled my order, but they charged me a restocking fee. Yes, a restocking fee for an item that wasn't in stock. Rediculous. i complained and was told that I'd have to take the matter up with the owner, who, of course, doesn't answer his phone, doesn't return phone calls nor reply to e-mails.
