Frauds
FYI- There's a company down in Florida that uses pridictive (auto dailer's) 24/7 and goes by the name I Select Health Solutions, 2950 W. Cypress Creek Ste 106, Ft. Lauderdale 1-800-718-6495. Agents answer the phones by the greeting "Thank you for calling the enrollment center, who do I have the pleasure of speaking with" pissing off a lot of people that are on do not call list's. Then proceed in selling 90% of the policy's through Homeland Health Care underwritten by Markel like it's the next best thing to a BCBS Major Medical Plan. Well it's not, there Quaranteed Limited Health IdemnityPlans (minimeds) that are'nt worth more than tiolent paper. Half of the agents are not even licensed by the state of financial services to sell health insurance. So if you get pitched by someone called Mel.Kathy, Paul, Steve, Gary, Shawn- stay away and hangup the phone they are breaking the law to sell health insurance in the first place. This company needs to be raided and shut down by the Department of Financial Services as well as the owners going by the names like Wayne, Shawn, Scott, Bob should be criminally prosecuted for rakeing in millions of dollars in premiums that don't give hard working citizens the health coverage they urgently need. SO PLEASE BE WARE OF I SELECT HEALTH SOLUTIONS 1-800-718-6495. THEY ARE TOTAL FRAUDS AND IN THEIR BEST TIME, TIME WILL CATCH UP TO THEM. DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM!!! Off to the next case.

CERTIFICATE OF CREDITABLE COVERAGE
I PURCHASED THIS INSURANCE IN JAN 2011. I WENT TO MY DOCTOR FOR THE FIRST TIME WITH THIS INSURANCE ON FEB. 28, 2011. YESTERDAY I RECIEVED A BILL FOR MY DOCTORS OFFICE THAT I OWE $918. WHEN I CALLED THEM THEY SAID I NEEDED A CERTIFICATE OF CREDITABLE COVERAGE IN ORDER FOR THEM TO PAY. NO ONE MENTIONED THAT I NEEDED THIS CERTIFICATE WHEN I GOT THE INSURANCE. I FEEL THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM AND I AM VERY WORRIED THEY WILL NOT PAY FOR MY DOCTOR VISIT.

Fraudulent Practices
If anyone is thinking about signing up with this company for health insurance...DON'T THIS COMPANY IS A FRAUDULENT COMPANY. I signed up for this insurance last November and as of today they haven't paid one cent of my medical bills and the prescription coverage is pretty much non-existant if there is any medications that aren't generic you might as well forget it, I take two inhalers and they would only cover about $15.00 of the cost of $250.00 for each medicine. Everytime I call to see if they have paid any of my medical charges I get a different excuse of why nothing has been paid. I am contacting the Insurance Commissioner and also the Attorney General as someone needs to stop this company from scamming people.

homeland health care
My husband and I purchased Homeland health care. Once I received the policy I realized it was not good. I immediately told my husband and he went on internet and found this site. I was horrified after reading all the problem everyone was having in getting their money back.
I spoke to homeland and they told me to fill out the complaint for and mail the policy back and they would mail back the premium. I did mail it back as a return receipt mail. Once I received the receipt I gave them a few days for processing and call the office. I spoke to a person by the name of Nicole and she told me that I did not write that I wanted a refund. I told her no where on the paper did it state that I had to write that. That I was canceling this policy and I expected my refund of $328.00. She stated it should have been written in the comment area. Again I stated that the form was filled out accurately and the information was understood if a policy is canceled. She then began to explain it would have to go in front of a board and they would make a decision. When I asked how long this would take she said she did not know. Once I got off the phone with her I called the Attorney General of NC, they referred me to the NC Insurance Bureau. He explain that Homeland is an underwriter for Insurance Companies. He said he would send me a form to fill out and then see what he could do. I then called back Homeland and pushed buttons until I got the operator. Who could not tell me what Insurance Company the wrote for but she would get someone who could answer that question. She put Jim on and I asked him what Company they wrote for and he looked up my policy and told me Markel Insurance was the company and that he could release my money the next day. I really doubted that he would do that but I waited and sure enough a few days later I had a deposit back into my account. I should mention that I made copies of the policy and cancellation form so I would be able to refer back to it is I needed to. I also canceled my credit/debit card and asked the bank if I canceled this card can the company still deposit that money via the card back into my account. The can the back will have to physically write it in but it can be done. I canceled it because I did not want that company to possibly take more money out. I am telling you this so that maybe some of you would be able to get your money back if you try this in your state. They may not underwrite the same Insurance Company in all states but if you ask the that question the will know your not playing games with them. And I would even go further if the still don't give you a satisfactory answer and let them know that the Attorney General and Insurance bureau of your state will be contacted. I hope this helps. lchill

Fraudulent Health Insurance
Well I am just another victim of this scam - I too paid $258.00 from my bank account and have been unable to recover one cent - I cancelled the insurance before it began even - after reading some of these comments - they tell me it has been cancelled and they never received the money - of course my bank shows they drew the money from my account - so now my bank is trying to investigate this fraudulent transaction and see if they can help recover my money - this is a lesson learned - a salesman from America's Healthbrokers sold me this policy - Joe Borak - complete and total fraud and two months into this scam I have been unable to really talk to anyone to achieve any results - it is unbelievable that this scam can operate - aren't there some type of laws to protect against this

Refund
First, I live on Social Security(can't afford to loose any money).
Second, I bought Homeland Health Insurance on line in March, 2010
Next, I went to hospital in April, 2010 with an infection from having a prostrate biopsy. The hospital submitted a claim to Homeland.
The following month I received a bill from the hospital, I contacted Homeland customer service, they told me I needed to get a letter of Crediteable Coverage from my previous carrier. So I called UCT customer service and asked them to fax that letter, they really didn't know what homeland meant but would contact them to find out..ok, good. The following month I received another bill from the hospital...NOTHING HAD BEEN PAID.
So I got back on the phone to Homeland trying to find out what was going on...they told me that they hadn't received the letter of Creditable Coverage. I called UCT again,
anyway, to make a long story shorter...this went on for 2 or 3 more months. Finally, I found out that Homeland wanted another letter from another carrier that I previously had prior to UCT...NO ONE told me this for several months !!
Now, finally Homeland gets the other letter from all my previous carriers. Still Homeland hasn't paid anything.
So ALL THIS TIME, HOMELAND HASN'T EVEN CONTACTED ME OR THE HOSPITAL, seems like they're avoiding the situation...NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ALL !!
Finally, late November early December I decided to change insurances to Humana to start in January, 2011. Since Homeland didn't care about anything or their customers,
I changed companies.
NOW, SINCE HOMELAND HASN'T PAID ANYTHING, I ASKED FOR A REFUND OF $1071.00($109.00/Mo.)...THEY REFUSED !! FOR THE REASON STATED TO ME FROM A CUSTOMER SERVICE SUPERVISOR "THAT THEY(Homeland) HAD RECEIVED CLAIMS AND INQUIRIES FROM PHYSICIANS WANTING TO SUBMIT A BILL . NOW THRU ALL MY PHONE CALLING, I FOUND A PERSON AT HAMMERMAN & GAINER, WHICH PAYS HOMELANDS CLAIMS...THAT HOMELAND AND HAMMERMAN & GAINER HAD RECEIVED 'ALL' THE CREDITABLE COVERAGE LETTERS SEVERAL MONTHS AGO AND THAT THEY(HAMMERMAN AND GAINER) HAD REFUSED TO PAY ANYTHING ON THESE CLAIMS, DUE TO 1 YEAR CREDITABLE COVERAGE...I DID NOT KNOW THIS AT ALL(when, I purchased the homeland insurance, NO ONE ever told me about 1 year coverage)...HE SAID, THAT THEY CONTACTED HOMELAND AND TOLD THEM THAT HAMMERMAN & GAINER WAS NOT GOING TO PAY ANYHING, NO ONE CALLED AND TOLD ME..BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE AGAIN !! ALSO, I HAD ASKED THIS MAN TO SEND ME ALL THE CLAIMS THAT THEY HAD RECEIVED TO BE PAID, HE SAID "THAT WOULD BE 'NO' PROBLEM BUT, THEY DIDN'T HAVE "ANY" CLAIMS TO BE PAID...NEVER HAD RECEIVED ANY!!
ALL THESE MONTHS HOMELAND HAS BEEN TAKING OUT $109.00 A MONTH AND NOT PAYING ANYTHING AND NOT TELLING ME THAT THEY WEREN'T GOING TO PAY ANYTHING UNTIL MY YEAR WAS COMPLETED IN MARCH 2011.
NOW SINCE I'VE GONE AHEAD AND CHANGED COMPANIES, AND "HOMELAND HASN'T PAID ANYTHING" I FEEL THAT I'M ENTITLED TO A REFUND OF MY $1071.00
There are a lot other things that homeland hasn't done, too many to write down here(this is already too long) I think, that I've tried to complete all that they asked for...and like I said, I live on SSI and can't afford to give my money away to someone that has given me the run around, DON'T YOU AGREE?

Misrepresentation
I spoke to Calos Egea from Americas Health Brokers many times, before purchasing the HOMELAND HEALTH CARE INSURANCE. Carlos Egea assured me that my father Jose Bonilla would be covered up to 70% on all medical treatments he received. He assured me that Homeland Health Care would provide a $50.00 up front fee for the first five visit, and that Beechstreet, who is the provider network would cover the rest of the fees at 70%, leaving my father with only 30% to pay out of pocket.

Money does not come easy, therefore, two of my brothers and I agree to pay for this health insurance together, leaving us each with a $75.00 contribution to pay towards my dads health insurance. We thought this was the best approach, so that my dad could get regular check up and finally determine if he needs to retire, or be on medication.

I paid $294.00 for the initial set up on (7/30/2010). The insurance was effective August 15, 2010. Mean while my dad, who did not have coverage, was suffering from sharp chest pains, but because Americas Health Broker assured us that we would be covered, we waited until the insurance was effective. When we finally went to the doctor on August 16, 2010, I was charged $125.00 for my dads doctors visit, which included only the 50.00 discount and nothing more. The original office visit was 175.00.

Boggled, I called Americas Health Brokers again, they claimed they called the clinic and that everything was taken care over, that the original office visit was $315.00 therefore I had received a significant adjusted price. So, we left it at that and continued scheduling appointments for my father who never several tests done that are common for his age, some which included X-Rays, and ultrasounds for his heart. The clinic verified the insurance numerous times, when calling HomeLand health care, and the answer was always the same he was only covered for a discounted price of $50.00 per office visit. Which is ridiculous, I am paying $219.00 a month to receive a $50.00 discount. (Charged on 9/13/2010)

When speaking to the clinic, they could not verify that the office visit was originally $315.00 they confirmed that the office visit was $175.00 and that I had received a $50.00 discount.

Furthermore, Homeland, pushed me off to Beechstreet, the provider network, the company that is offering the adjusted pricing for doctors in the network. Beechstreet would not give me any information, because I was not the clinic or the doctor. Beechstree confirmed that the doctor my father saw was part of the network, therefore the clinic should use an adjusted fee schedule to charge my dad. The Clinic did not have such document, because Beechstreet had not provided the document when in contract with Homeland. I asked the Beechstreet representative, to give me the adjusted price amount for an Echo CODE 93307, 93320 and 93325, she said, she would not give me this information. I then asked, if I could call her back with the clinic on the line, so that they can give them the pricing, she said If you are on the line, or anywhere where you can hear the conversation, we will not give any of this information to the clinic. So I asked, if they can call the clinic, she replied This is an inbound office, I cannot call out, only receive calls in, the clinic has to call me. The Beechstreet representative then referred me to two doctors at the UT Physicians at Sienna Village, who she claimed were part of the network and accepted Homeland Health care, they had all the information regarding the fee schedules and that I should not have a problem there. However, the same story repeated, when the clinic called, they were given the same information, $50.00 discount for Mr. Jose Bonilla.

This was the last straw for me, my father needed to get his heart checked out, and this health insurance scam was taking my money, and not providing any services what so ever. Neither company wants to take responsibility. Americas Health brokers says, we only sold the insurance, call homeland. Homeland said, we only provide $50.00 discounts, call Beechstreet for adjusted network prices, Beech Street says, We do not speak to patients, we only speak to doctors and clinic business offices because our business contract is with them, not with you. Therefore, I will file a consumer complaint against ALL THREE COMPANIES for NEGLIGENCE and FRAUD.

scam
this company is a complete scam. the first month premium isnt refundable and they tell you they payy 100 percent of a surgery. THEY ARE LIARS. I was fooled by the smooth talking phone salesman to buy this plan that was better then a major medical. I know that I dont qualify for a major medical beceause of my pre existing conditions but he told me that this was bette. Dont get me wrong I now have a legimate policy with health option one but he still was not up front with me. they pay a grand total of 795 for an open heart surgery and they are not a HIPPA compliant company so my certificate of credible coverage was no good. they lied and misled me to believe that I was recieving good coverage. DONT BUY HOMELAND HEALTH CARE. (health option one is a great plan for those who have pre existing conditions like myself)

liars and thieves!
ARGH! i am so fed up with Homeland Health Care. i, too, was fast-talked into agreeing to something that i thought was too good to be true. i desperately needed health insurance and after being turned down 4 times in a row, i thought i had finally found a company that was going to help me out. little did i know or even fathom that the representative would flat out lie about the coverage details. once i got the packet in the mail, i read it over and there was NOTHING that was the same as she told me on the telephone. my coverage was supposed to start on July 1st and i realized just in time that i needed to cancel this. so i sent in my cancellation form by e-mail on June 30th, thinking that was all i needed to do since that's ALL IT SAYS I NEEDED TO DO. i knew i would lose the $75 membership fee, and that was fine because i had agreed to that before. but i JUST found out today that they charged my Visa account $159 for July AND August! this is NOT RIGHT. i did what i was supposed to do and in the correct time and i am still getting punished? i called Visa and the NICE AND PATIENT rep said they were going to change my account number and start flagging these charges and try to get to the bottom of this. don't sit back and take this, y'all. we need to fight and get OUR money back!!

Imposible to Cancel
It is impossible to cancel this insurance! I have been trying to cancel this insurance since the end of May because I have picked up Blue Cross & Blue Shield as a provider. Now, I have problems with BC/BS because they are STILL showing Homeland Health Care as a provider. Please, somebody stop the music, I want to get off!!!
