Hometown Bangalore Reviews

Cheating consumers
I am having a terribly stressful experience dealing with Hometown, Marathalli, Bangalore.

I ordered an LCD TV, a refrigerator, a geyser and a rocker chair from the store, total amounting Rs. 72, 000/= a week ago and am still undergoing the agony of their highly unprofessional staff (including managers). The entire payment was made in full except for Rs. 37, 500/= for the refrigerator which I paid by ICICI bank (at par) cheque. I had to make innumerable phone calls to Hometown for the delivery of each of the item purchased. This was even more painful as for each of the item delivery, I ended up spending Rs. 1000/= in cab for going to my new apartment in whitefield from my sister's place in JP Nagar.

The ICICI cheque for the refrigerator got cleared on 3/11/2009 still when after my frustrations I went to the hometown store on 5/11/2009 and spoke with the manager Bernard, he told that the cheque is pending and the delivery can only be made when its cleared. Yesterday, upon suspecting this to be fishy, I checked my bank's online statement and was completely shocked to learn that the cheque had long been cleared. When I told this to the Hoemtown manager Bernard, instead of accepting the irregularity on their end and expediting the delivery, he again gave me the same crap namely, "it will be delivered tomorrow". I still don't know when that tomorow will come.

Thanks,
Shweta
