Below is my complaint sent to the Birmingham Alabama BBB regarding this company:

Consumer's Original Complaint :
On December 20, 2009, I placed two orders for a Peppermint Tulip arrangement for two seperate family members. They were in two seperate areas. The flower arrangments delivered to my cousin in Birmingham Alabama were incorrect flowers and I did not check the substitution box. I called the florist and complained about the flowers sent to my cousin after I recieved a photo. The arrangement was suppose to look like his website at http://www.homewoodflowers.com/birmingham-flowers/peppermint-tulips-145107p.asp?rcid=3389&point=1

The flowers Michael arranged and delivered to my cousin were nothing close. They were put in a cheap box, there were no candycanes, no pinecones and no ribbons. The entire arrangement looked nothing close to what I ordered. I complained to him about the flowers his company delivered and they did not fix the arrangement to look like what I ordered. I want a refund for that arrangement because he failed to provide to my cousin, the product I ordered.

The flower arrangement I asked him to send to my sister's house where my mother (who has dementia) resides was never given to my mother as I specifically requested. I told Michael that my mother has dementia and that she was to be given the flowers personally. According to my sister, the flowers were not accepted and she told the florist to donate the flowers to some hospital. I DID NOT pay $70 for flowers to be donated to any hospital and I want my money refunded to me! The Florist should have contacted Michael's office telling him the flowers were not accepted and Michael should have contacted me so he could refund my money. The flowers were never received by my mother. My sister was handed the flowers, not my mother and I was very specifica about my instructions that my mother be handed the flowers by the florist.

The person who took both of my orders has completely ripped me off and he knowingly delivered the wrong arrangement to my cousin who resides in Birmingham Alabama and he was aware that the flowers in Orlando Florida were refused and yet, he is not issuing ME a refund for either arrangement. Given the fact that Michael was aware that the flowers in Orlando Florida ordered for my mother, was not accepted by my sister and they were NOT handed directly to my mother as I specifically requested, Homewood Florist does owe me a refund for that order. Given the fact Michael's office did NOT provide my cousin with the flower arrangement I ordered and he placed cheap flowers including a cheap wooden box in place of the beautiful photo on his website, he owes me a refund for that arrangement as well.

Consumer's Desired Resolution:
As mentioned in my complaint, I am seeking a refund for both arrangements which came to over $70 each. I paid for both arrangements with my credit card and I would like the amounts charged by Homewood Florist to be put back on my credit card.Sincerely, Diane Gerrish165 four lakes dr.Cleveland NC 27013704-278-3647

12/22/2009 BBB MORE INFO RECEIVED FROM THE CONSUMER : Sandra Johnson is the sister who refused the Flower arrangement I ordered for my mother and she is the person who told the Florist who delivered the flowers to give them to some hospital as a "donation". I specifically gave instructions to Michael, of Homewood Florist, to tell the florist who would be delivering the flowers to personally hand the arrangement to my mother, Lorraine Evans.
The flowers were refused by Sandra Johnson. The FLorist in Orlando Florida notified Michael of Homewood Florist that the flowers were not accepted and as such, the flowers were donated without my permission. Had MIchael contacted me to tell me the flowers had not been accepted, I would have instructed him to send that flower arrangement to my son's wife. Instead, Michael of Homewood Florist elected to NOT notify me and he allowed my $70 flower arrangement to be "donated". His failing me, the customer, is unethical. His business practices are shoddy at best. I want a refund for both arrangements and I expect this business owner to refund my money because he failed me, as a customer.


The attached photo of the flowers look nothing like what I ordered from his website under the "Peppermint Tulip Arrangement" under christmas flowers.
