*** AVOID AVOID AVOID the Hotel Palazzo Villelmi B&B - Via Corso Ruggero 149 - Cefalu (Palermo) - 90015 Sicily Sicilia Sicile ***
We had made a reservation for a night at the Hotel Palazzo Villelmi B&B at Cefalu in Sicily three months in advance on Booking.com internet site, in February 2010 for a night there in May 2010.
When we arrived at the hotel Palazzo Villelmi B&B they asked our passports, have us sign the hotel documents, gave us handwritten papers for a breakfast at a bar around the corner, and asked us to pay in advance.
We asked to see the room before. They brought us to another location in a pitiful condition, ruined building and smelly room.
When we refused the room they told us that anyway we would have to pay the room according to Booking.com arrangements.
Anyway we refused the room and find an accomodation at another B&B.
Back home a week later, we had in the mailbox a message from Booking.com saying that we did not appear at the hotel at the dates of the reservation and that the night would be charged to us.
We asked to let a on-line comment on Booking.com internet site but they told us that they only display reviews from guests who actually stayed over-night at the hotel they have booked a room at, that in our case, we did not stay over-night at the originally booked hotel (Palazzo Villelmi B&B) and therefore they cannot show our review on their site.
When we go on booking.com internet site we still continue to see that the hotel is rated 7.9 with excellent comments. As a consequence many other people will continue to book a room there and experience the same embezzlement.
