I WILL NEVER BOOK THROUGH HOTWIRE AGAIN BECAUSE OF BAD BUSINESS PRACTICES...
I had a surgery scheduled to remove a tumor on June 16th, so I booked a room with Hotwire in a hotel near the hospital...
On June 13th, the surgeon called and said that the surgery date had to changed, so I called Hotwire to change the hotel date...
Of course Hotwire's response was it is our policy to not change hotel dates, and we will not refund your money.
It is their policy; I read the fine print. However, this is a bad business practice.
If Hotwire is able to book a block of rooms then they should have relationships with the room providers and when emergencies occur, it should not be a problem for the room provider or Hotwire to change a room date.
Additionally, there is no reason ever to use Hotwire as an agent if they do nothing to protect their client, when unforeseen situations occur.
They do not have good enough relationships with their room providers to have the flexibility to work with their room providers to resolve problems...So there no incentive to book through Hotwire.
I paid for one of Hotwire's rooms for a night and lost $61.59 Because of Hotwire's bad business practices, Hotwire lost me as customer for life...
Additionally, I have let at least 10 of my family and friends known about their bad business practices and I am certain they will never use Hotwire again...
Bad business practices equal short-term rewards. Hotwire was able to pay their room provider $61.59 for room that could not be used, but they probably lost thousands of future dollars from me and my family and friends over a lifetime.
