My wife was booking flight arragements for me on Hotwire.com to fly to Las Vegas on business. She found a good price, so she booked the flight. Unaware to her the flight was due in Las Vegas at 11:40 PM local time. Hotwire did not notify her of the arrival time until after the flight was booked. When she saw this she called hotwire.com and wanted to change the flight, she even offered to pay a higher fee to re-book. She was told no and had to accept the flight arrangements. I wasn't about to ask the business I was visiting to have someone to pick me up at that time so we re-booked through the airlines.
She called Sears mastercard about the issue and said they would investigate the charge and that she need to provide the details of the incident. A letter was submitted to Sears mastercard the following day. We received a letter from Sears dated 6/16/2010, on 6/21/2010 saying the incident was investigated and the charges stood because the documentation did not support the claim. We feel wronged by both Hotwire.com because my wife was not informed of the travel times and had to accept the tickets regardless of the arrival times and Sears Mastercard for not taking our business seriously and threatened us with sending our account to collection agencies and we have never missed a payment. It's a shame businesses have resorted to this type of customer relations.
We will notify the Better Business Bureau and other agencies about both of these businesses.
This is far from over.
