I paid off the balance of my account in sept 2009, I actually overpaid the account by 47 cents. The card company closed my account but refused to refund the overpayment because it was less than one dollar. If I had owed that amount and not made the minimum payment I would have been charged $35.00 per month each month the balance remained. When I call to inquire I am told I can use the amount towards future purchases, however since they closed my account I obviously can not make future purchases. They have not sent monthly statements showing my neg balance, but if I call I am told I have it. By my calculations if I had owed them 47 cents and not paid since 9/2009 I would currently owe them well over 600.00 by now. This does not take into account the 29.99% interest charge they would have also tacked on. I know the amount is small they owe me, but since it wouldn't be forgiven if I owed them that amount I feel they should be held to their own standards...since they are not it clearly makes them crooks and theives.
