Laptop was useless after 2 years
I remember getting an HP pavilion dv2000 series for graduation back in 2008. While the laptop appeared to be in good shape and was very sleek and attractive, I soon found out a few months in that this purchase was a flop. Keep in mind I took very good care of this laptop. I didn't leave it on blankets, didn't drop it, didn't spill drinks on it, etc. To begin, the laptop's fan was useless and the entire computer would overheat, much to the point where the keyboard would be burning hot. The fan was also obnoxiously loud, not something you want to take to lectures to type notes on. Sometimes out of no where I'd hear a screeching noise coming from the fan as well. Despite these issues the laptop worked fine. Then in april of 2010 I remember not having a single issue until I closed the laptop after shutting it completely down. When I booted it back up, I was greeted with a solid blank white screen. To this day I have no clue what caused the issue but my only guess is that the connections to the monitor finally got fried due to the faulty air cooling system. Trying to find customer support for the particular model of computer I had was a nightmare since HP has several different number models for their line ups. I eventually replaced the computer with a toshiba which works wonderfully compared to the monster I had before it. I also found out the particular laptop I had before was from a line that all had manufacturing problems (wtf?). I don't care if HP introduces something new and improved. I'm staying far away from any of their products from now on.

Cant Trace my laptop
Hello,
I Gave my laptop to HP for the repair on 4th april 2011 and its been 20 days and they are not able to trace my laptop. I called staples and HP both, HP's customer service is so bad they are just giving me run around and not giving me the exact solution. I bought this laptop on 15th december 2010 and with in 3 months the laptop stopped working. I have the receipt from staples that they sent the laptop to HP. The HP customer service people never call back and very poor service. I should have not bought an HP laptop. I hope this thing gets resolved soon.

Thanks,
Raman

Dear Sir or Madam:
I hope this will find you well!
I am sorry to say but, I am really not happy with happing to me regarding my Hp Pavilion Serial # CNF95097Fc, and Model dv6-2157sv. I had a some problems with the computer and technical department wasn’t able to help me and I had to fix it out and regarding to my that complain I got 1 year extended warranty from XXX, who was the case manager.
And when I called a customer service regarding problem in the computer, they said my computer is no longer in warranty. I was wondering that what happened to that extended warranty. I called to find out and the case manager’s name XXX he told me that your computer was bought in US and since you are in Canada you have to connect to them. He will call me for further information within 24-48 business hrs. I didn’t get any response and after 15 days I call him back. Then today he transfers to the US case manger. And He told me that there is a note from the case manager that I suppose to call her back within 24 hrs after she offered me the 1 year warranty. And she didn’t mention anything to me like that then how would I know that I have to call back?
And now the last case manager is saying that, He can’t do anything as my warranty is expired. What’s the point for the extended warranty that offered to me? This just one kind of cheating. Since last 2months computer is not working and I have to just keep calling here and there.
To resolve the problem, I would like you to please review my case. Hoping a favourable response from you soon, Since it’s already been 2 months I am going through all this.
Thanking you for taking the time to read this letter. I have been a satisfied customer of your company for many years and this is the first time I have encountered a problem. If you need to contact me, you can reach me at (Not writing my name & No.. or the case manager's name.)

Sincerely,
XXXX

I never go for any HP products because of their irresponsible attitude towards the customer and making a fool of the customer
I bought an HP LJ 1000 printer and from the start the printer shows error that if we give 10 pages print after the first 3-4 pages the print gets faded one by one and at last comes blank sheet.

I talked to the HP service center about this error and for the last whole 5 months am running behind this problem.

Still the error continues. I never expected such an irresponsible attitude towards a customer from a company like HP. Now am planning to move legally against the HP and they forced me to think about another brand laser printer.

Also, I never go for any HP products because of their irresponsible attitude towards the customer and making a fool of the customer.

They gave me advice including changing our computer which is connected to the printer, change the toner cartridge, change the paper, change the power supply, and so on. I have been in the computer industry for the last 12 years.

Hewlett Packard's frustrating Internet site & nonexistent customer support
I wish I had known about Hewlett Packard not having a 1-800 support number unlike most other big name computer brands, since you pay extra for the name.

When you go to their support site on the web you are run in circles until you finally get frustrated and give up.

If you want to email them to complain about their useless web support, you have to select a number of choices about what you want to email them about and again you are run in circles.

If you like complicated puzzle's, buy a Hewlett Packard PC and try to contact them.

It's harder than Chinese arithmetic.

Nothing, but problems, stay away
Since buying the computer I have had many software problems with the software that was supplied with the computer. The software is also HP -- not a third party.

If you get in touch with an HP tech and can understand them, you find they are unqualified. Generally they will do VERY BASIC fixes then ask you to do a full system restore wiping out many programs and files stored on your computer. After doing this 2, 10, or 20 times and if you still have a problem, it is considered a software problem that IS NOT COVERED in the 1 year 24/7 tech support.

That is the case even if there is no third party software installed and it is clearly an HP software program that is in question.

HP then will ask for $59.99 for 1 hour to talk to an HP software tech (i.e. a real tech) even though your product is clearly covered in the printed warranty. They claim there may be a refund option if it is an HP software defect, but will not guarantee it.

If this was known up front I would have never bought it. Talk about bait and switch.

The bottom line seems to be HP's 24/7 support only qualifies for hardware related issues as stated by HP. If it is software-related, there is a charge of $59.99 an hour even if it is HP supplied software with no 3rd party software added.

I have set the wheels in motion for a class action lawsuit on warranty fraud. Beware... Boycott HP!

Non functioning of the Laptop
We have purchased the HP Compaq Presario CQ42-176TU notebook having S.No. CHF0131YGC in last week of May 2010 from Vijay Sales Borivali (W). The laptop started giving problem from Nov.2010 and stopped functioning from Dec.2010. There was no support from the dealer M/S Vijay Sales. We have given the laptop three times to HP authorised service centre at the Dadar (W). It is noticed that they repairs the laptop and ask us to collect. But we noticed that after the collection, within few days again it stopped functioning. This is already happened three times. We have requested the company for replacement with extended guarantee and damages charges but even after repeated emails there is no positive response. The company refused to replace the defective laptop. We spent lot of time and money for travelling and settlement of the matter. In addition we are not able to use laptop since last three months eventhough we paid full amount.
