Terrible experience
Within a month of our receiving our brand new HP/Compaq nx6110 laptop it started going black while the computer was still functioning. Sometimes the screen would come back if you moved it back and forth, like there was a loose connection. But most of the time it would not come back, and the only way to revive it was to shut it down and restart it, and even then you might have to do that two or three times before the screen would be illuminated. Forget saving your work if you had more than one item open. I would hit Ctrl-S and could save one item, but you're in the dark, so other items would be lost. I notified them on their website and was given a case number. The laptop was less than one month old. They were supposed to send me a box to ship the machine back to them. Never came. Went back to the website. They didn't find my case number, so they gave me a new one. Still no box came. Went to the website again, now with two case numbers they didn't recognize. I called an 800 number, talked to a guy who said he would look into it for me, and he took down my case numbers. I was given a third case number. Never heard back from anyone. Months are going by, and still this thing is driving us crazy. I write a letter to them, telling this story, and nothing. I go to the website again, still my case numbers don't get recognized. I call, and now the warranty period is about to run out. One year has gone by. I call an 800 number for customer help on last time. The person I end up talking to is not sympathetic. My warranty has run out. There is nothing more they can do for me. They can fix it, but I will have to pay for it. Hello Apple. We got an iBookG4. I'm loving life now.

Terrible experience
I bought a new HP dv 9000, was told it was to be a 9200 or so, box said so, but its 9000, anyway, from compusa... now out of business. As soon as I got the computer and turned it on... it said low disk space, got extremely hot, some applications weren't loading right, etc., about 6 months later.I just opened it one time as usual, to use it, the screen cover popped and just broke off... "what the?"its still on a lil on the right side... but a bunch of plastic broke off. It was hard to get in touch with HP over the phone, I finally did. They say haha out of warranty, even though I emailed them when I saw the problems after i bought it... I am mark J. In tampa FL 813 7??? They know how to reach me and i hope they do... HP computers, customer service is not as great as we hear, nor are there computers, maybe i just got a "BAD" one, help me HP... please... ill repost if they help or if they don't...

Dreadful after sales service
Be warned, HP only pay lip service to customer service. I bought a new printer/scanner and also a wireless upgrade kit, and after only a week, problems started.

I have been exchanging emails with customer support now for nearly two weeks. No one bothers to look at the case notes, so I get some junior who emails me again to either tell me something they told me two days ago, or tell me something which is factually incorrect (eg - and this is a direct quote - "the wireless printer upgrade kit is not designed to permit scanning").

My biggest complaint is that they make it impossible to escalate problems - no one cares.

My suggestion - avoid!!

I AM A BUSINESS MAN FROM NIGERIA.I DEAL ON PRINTERS AND ARE MOSTLY HP PRINTERS.I SENT HP A MAIL ABOUT LAST 2 MONTHS AGO ASKING THEM THE REQUIEMENT HOW TO GET THERE FACILITIES, I HAVE BEEN SELLING HP PRODUCTS FOR8YEARS.I ALSO ASKED THEM TO SEND ME THE MANUAL OF SOME PRINTERS WHICH MY CUSTOMERS ALSO REQUEST FOR ON .BECAUSE IS DIFFICULF FOR ME TO DOWNLOAD THIS CATALOG FROM THE INTERNET.I LISTED THE PRINTERS FOR THEM UP TILL NOW I AM YET TO GET A MAIL OR REPLY.THANKS

Terrible computer
I purchased a laptop last july for a little over 500 including a warranty. I thought it was a sell since it was the basic computer. 512MB RAM, 80GB hard drive, Intel Celeron processor and Vista OS. The computer was refurbished without my knowledge. I had to learn after my screen had went out a second time. Now they are only willing to give me a $55 gift card for in store credit.

Note that I have 2 non-working laptops from HP - in warranty! :-( I need both fixed immediately or my money back! I'm going to file Credit Card dispute for claim and BBB complaint within 24 hours now.

I am a Canadian Citizen and travel often between India/Canada I have 2 HP notebooks purchased in Canada. 3 months back one laptop stopped working and I contacted HP Canada and HP India in all forms. On the other side, I was told on number of occassions that case was Escalated and HP Manager would call me and this never happened till today when I told that I'll not hang up on phone till I speak with a case manager and I was directed to you and finally we spoke. Even HP Canada is no different - I had 2 tickets opened and nothing happened(8014048251, 8012888342). The worse part is that I as a Customer can't even review the ticket log. Hence I had to start recording the calls :-(

This clearly shows the flaw in how HP handles its support. If this is how HP puts a customer through to get their problem resolved with so much mental harassment, I think I have to really take this up seeking damages.

As promised, Here is the case manager in India I spoke to :

I spoke to Upendra 10 days back and he was not able to assist since HP India could not access tickets starting with 801. I am also not sure why did I have to act as a middle man here when this should be strictly HP's internal issue. I need an explanation on this as why I had to put up with all this and want both the laptops to be picked up, fixed and delivered back to me with no loss of data!

I'm certainly going to claim damages from HP. Would be very wrong if every customer has to go through this!

Delay in gift
I have purchased a hp laptop dv2762tx on 23rd june 2008. I have claimed for my gift, for that purpose i have send all required documents to the hp redemption cell, delhi, but now till days i haven't received my gift. This is not fair.

Laptop
En abril de 2007 compré en Chicago, un laptop HP dv6000 y 2 dias antes de cumplir el año, sufrió un daño que fue irreparable, el servicio al usuario no respondió por la garantía, aduciendo que por haber sido comparado en USA no podían darlo en Colombia. Entonces lo llevé al sitio autorizado en Bogotá, para llevar a cabo las reparaciones y se demoraron dos meses en dar el diagnóstico y finalmente dijeron que el daño era de la board y que no podían traerla al pais.
Mi frustración es enorme, no puedo repararlo, si lo vendo por partes no me dan casi nada .
Viendo esta página me doy cuenta que la decepción sufrida por mí es compartida: no soy la única damnificada por HP y esperaría que ellos respondieran por un producto de tan mala calidad.

Repair Scam
My Compaq laptop that I bought last October had a defect with the wireless card. Seems it was a crappy card to begin with and it died.

I contacted HP and they were very nice and sent me the box and all to send it in for a free replacement of the card.

Note, the wireless was the ONLY problem and everything else worked perfectly. Just the faulty wireless card that HP is replacing because it was a sub-par card they used when building the laptops.

Anyway, I get up this morning and see on the repair status that it is now out of warranty and the charge is 750.00!!!

I call them to see what the deal is and am told that the motherboard, the hard drive, the fan, the processor, the keyboard are all shot due to liquid spillage.

I did not spill anything on this keyboard and I went bezerk on the phone. The computer was immaculate when it was shipped to them, other than the wireless card not working. I filed a formal dispute with them and was told to call back in 24-48 hours.

I also did a little digging online and it seems this isn’t uncommon of HP and their shady practices.

HP supply software for installation of primnters that doesnt recognise primnters on my network. Their own website device detector doesnt work either!
How can they survive in the competitive world beats me!
