Worst customer service ever
Stay away from hp for your own good. This company absolutely has no respect to their customers. Customer service is absolutely horrible.
I have bought Pavilion desktop from hp. After a couple of months and countless blue screens it has died. When I called to customer service I was told that I have to pay for Vista installation dvd and try to reinstall OS before any further step. My point that I have already paid for a copy of Vista when I have bough a computer and they should have shipped dvd with computer to begin with fell on deaf ears. I could not believe it. Now I have a piece of junk with hp label on it and new experience of the worst customer service I have ever experienced.
No hp for me ever.

Very poor tech support
My new dv6253cl notebook was not communicating with my wireless network, I have three computers that do, I went on live chat, spoke to Huntley, seemed to want to help but had no real depth in troubleshooting the problem. I was told that my printer would not work wireless, I was put on hold and lead in a circle with no real interaction in troubleshooting the problem, I verified what I had tried and basically was told to read a manual that would be sent e-mail in 5-min, never received it and I was also disconnected right after this. I Eventually figured it out trial and error, verified that I could print a web page, but not through my word processor, went into properties and setup a new port and made several changes to my configuration not sure which made the big difference. Works fine now I can print out my documents in word or downloads from the internet.

HP sell package systems that is not compatible!
I just bought and returned a brand new desktop hp computer at my local best buy store. the hp printer provided did not work because it was not supported with the proper driver with the vista system. i lost over $120.00 on the return from best buy because of nonreturnable software and setup costs. this is a sham, my next complaint is going to be with the attorney generals office. how can a company sell a package system that is not compatible!?

HP- don't provide committed free gifts!
As per the company advertisement in some newspapers of gujarat, he mentioned about free gift on every purchase of laserjet printer in the scheme period. so i purchased two printers under that scheme of free motorola mobile for free talk time of Rs. 450. but till date i don't get any mobile phone and do not get any kind of response.
Their service is really too poor because i have sent many mail but the company staff member had not contact me either by phone or by mail for this issue.
Me and my friends have also bought some printers for individual use but same position as mine as my friend.
We have to claim against these kind of issues.

Fooling the customers for selling more products!
Dear citizens of India,
I am also one of the victims of this fraud made by this company. When i registered the product online, no redemption code has generated. I tried for almost three to four times but failed. This is not happening to a single person but happening to so many peoples in our entire country. HP is so clever that he forces us to buy his products at a cheaper rate but for the cartridge he asks the same amount from us. He knows that once we purchase its product we have to purchase its consumables also.

Knows defects and lying!
I bought an HP Pavilion some time back and was excited to own a NEW COMPUTER from a BRAND NAME COMPANY.
However, within weeks I had a problem.
The CD-RW didn't work. I called the service center and they shipped me a new one. That one sucked as well. I called again, to discover that my warranty was up and they didn't want to replace my replaced CD-RW. Several phone calls later, including one to the CEO, they shipped me a CD-RW that worked.
MUCH later, prowling the Internet news, I discovered that the makers of the CD-RW -- a company overseas, screwed up. HP had known for quite some time that the CD-RWs of a certain lot were defective. The laser lens was bad -- but they didn't bother to recall them.
BTW, that CD-RW lasted just long enough to go out of warranty and failed. I bought a replacement from eBay dirt cheap and installed it and it was still working fine when I retired the system.
The Hard Drive needed to be replaced through an HP recall. When I contacted them, the service rep wanted my credit card number and I asked why. He said that if I didn't return the old HD, I'd be charged $1.00. I said fine. The replacement arrived and I transferred the data over, but didn't -- at that time -- know how to purge the old HD. I had a lot of personal information on it. So, I kept it.
HP charged me $161 for the drive!
I called them up and yelled at them and told them what I had been informed. They told me that the rep apparently was in error. Plus I would not get my money back because the return program had ended.
I could have bought a replacement drive brand new for under $100 or a nearly new one off ebay for $45.
Shortly after, the Pavilion failed. My computer repairman informed me that the motherboard had died and the cost to fix it was $300. He also informed me that I might want to change out the power supply since HP tended to put in under powered ones in their 'discount' computers and the Pavilion had been discontinued a year before I bought it.
Thoroughly disgusted, the repair guy and I built a new computer from scratch.
I upgraded the chip, increased the memory from 512 to 1024 with room for another 1024, dumped in the biggest power supply he could get, added all sorts of additional ports, threw out the HP keyboard and lousy mouse and replaced them with Logitech, upgraded the HD from 1 gbyt to 90 and paid actually about $200 less than the HP originally cost.
That's the system I'm using now. I've never had a problem with it.
Later, reading various computer reports, I found that most of the major companies routinely dump in inadequate power supplies, overcharge you for advanced chips and deliberately limit the memory. I also found out that, if you ship your system in for warrant repair, they automatically wipe your HD and reload the programs. That was never mentioned in the warranties and at least one friend, upon getting her Gateway back from servicing, discovered that all of her work on the HD was gone.
The companies used to burn your keycap letters into your keys years ago. Then they just started painting them on. They also used to sell replacement keys cheaply for when you wore the keytops off. Well, that stopped. To prevent you from buying generic keys from stores that sold them or ripping them out of old keyboards, they started making the keys fit with a priority design.
Meaning other brands would not fit.
HP, when my keyboard caps wore out, would sell me a new board for $80. I bought a Logitech board for $29.95 that worked just fine.
HP produced a REALLY GOOD inkjet printer, though. Mine lasted for years. However, they stopped producing that brand and my computer guy's back room had a pallet full of worn out printers that were too expensive to repair. He suggested I buy another one from Walmart. (ACT Computers in Vero Beach, Florida. A great place which doesn't concentrate in ripping you off and will not sell you what you don't need.)
BTW. My new computer case has PLENTY OF ROOM IN IT, unlike the HP, where I could barely get my fingers in among the junk to replace parts.
I will no longer deal with HP.
Be careful what brand of computer you buy and if it is cheap, check out the specs very carefully. Also, please note that places like Walmart tend to buy up huge volumes of discontinued types -- which they don't tell you about. However, if you're wise, you can still get a good deal from them.
HP, gateway or Dell -- check out the system carefully before buying. You might not like the chip speed, the memory volume or the power supply. If the case is crammed and cramped, then they're saving money by making the thing smaller -- which doesn't always allow for easy repair by you or for adequate cooling.
BTW, if you choose to have a computer guy build you one, you need to know that they only warranty the parts. The big computer companies warranty the software.

Hard drive replacement problem
On September 29,2006 I called HP Support because my notebook computer is not recognizing the hard drive. The hard drive test on the cmos failed. I was offered a replacement for the hard drive to be sent inmediately and that I will receive it by 10/04/2006. I did not receive it that date and I called
back HP Support and they told me that I would receive it on 10/12/06, it did not came in that date either.
I called HP Support for the third time and that was when they told me that they did not have the hard drive that I have to wait until 11/02/2006. I asked to talk to a supervisor and the supervisor told me that because they did not have the hard drive in stock I will have to wait till 11/02/06 to get it. I told him that I needed the hard drive before that date, even thought it was promised for delivery on 10/04 and 10/12 I was never told that the hard disk was not in stock. The supervisor told me that he would buy me a hard drive from one of theri suppliers and that I will get it as soon as next monday 10/16/06, the hard drive did not came in yesterdady as promised.
Now I have an new $829 notebook sitting in my closet for the last 3 weeks doing nothing for me. The computer works really good, but I can not use it without a hard drive.

Extremely frustrating laptop service
My laptop was originally having issues with the screen so I sent it into HP to have it repaired during the summer before I went back to school. I received my laptop back and it was working fine and they didn't replace any parts. Only a week after I got back to school, I started having the same issues again. So I called HP and they recommended sending it in for repair. I did it and they had my laptop back in a surprising three day turnaround. The repair summary said that they had replaced my system board and reinstalled Windows. I noticed immediately when I went to use my laptop that USB devices weren't working properly, my touchpad wasn't working, and it took forever to load Windows and sometimes it wouldn't load at all. So I sent my laptop back in for repair and this time they kept it for five days and replaced the system board again. I just received it back and now the fan is running constantly on the system board and it didn't do this before. I called HP and they said that I should send it in again for repair. I expressed my disgust about their service to them and they told me that all they could do was have it sent in again and said that it would receive "priority" repair. As a result of this, I was going recommend to my father a new HP laptop, but now I don't think I am. This is getting to be extremely frustrating and by now I think I deserve my money back or a new laptop.

A story of disappointment
I purchased an HP laptop nx6125 on 17 Dec 2005. About 4 months later, my computer started having the blue screen and I was not able to boot it again. Furthermore the finger print reader was not functional. I called the HP technical support line and told them about the problem. I am told to send the computer to the technical service. A few days later, people from the technical service called me and told me that the hard drive and main memory of the computer needed to be replaced and I am requested to give permission for that action. About a week later, the computer is sent to my address. When I looked at the official record form that came with the computer, I discovered that none of the actions mentioned above has been performed, only Windows has been reinstalled. As you may guess, the problem was still there. And the finger print reader was not functional either. Then, I had to send the computer to the technical service for a 2nd time. This time, thanks god, the hard drive and the memory have been replaced. But the problem survived. The computer is sent to the technical service for the 3rd time. This time I am told that the mainboard and the battery had to be replaced and the order for this parts has already been sent to the U.S. The technical service called me and told that the computer is repaired 2 days before the end of the 1-month workday period which is the legal duration during which the problem had to be resolved. When I went to the technical service to pick my computer which was supposedly repaired, I discovered that the finger print reader was not functional yet. At the technical service, it is also discovered that the BIOS of the system was not the correct one.
Next day, they told me that my computer would be replaced by a brand new computer. 3 days later, I got the new computer, but I realized with complete surprise that the new computer was a used one. In other words, my computer had been replaced by a used one. The point that I finally came to made me very sad and deeply hurt me. It has been 7 months since I purchased my computer, but the computer was in technical service in 3 months of this duration. I can not find words to describe my disappointment and regret right now. Now, I strongly believe that HP is not reliable firm.
It is a firm that does not care about customer satisfaction. From now on, let alone a computer, I will not buy even a simple calculator with an HP brand on. I recommend you not to do either.
