They doesn't have a clue how to repair their own product!
I have a 5 month old HP laptop, still under warranty. It has experienced a black screen and freeze up since day 1. I contacted HP 3 times, they instructed me each time to set it back to factory settings, which caused me to lose all my settings and data. I sent the laptop back to HP for repair, and all they did was re image it. The same problem occurred again within a week of it being sent back to me. Here is what an HP Case manager told me in a phone call last week: We cannot guarantee that we can fix the laptop. If we re image it and it works for any amount of time, we consider it repaired. The computer was never repaired! The same problem has been ongoing for 5 months now. I talked to an HP authorized warranty repair man in my state on the phone today. He told me that he cannot repair Pavillion laptops only HP business laptops. He said Pavillions are not made to last more than a year. There is no repair facility available for me to bring a Pavillion laptop to, I am at the mercy of the HP mail in repair center. There is no other recourse. He said that since the tech jobs were outsourced to India it has been a nightmare. I have no choice but to deal with HP techs online or by phone and good luck if I can get one to talk to me who is not from India! This is what an HP repair tech says about his own product! He said I was getting the run around. And to save up and by another laptop! I will not buy another HP laptop or any HP product because they could care less about the quality of their product or any warranty. The warranties are false! HP cannot build their own products correctly to last more than a week, then they don't have a clue on how to repair them. Do Not buy HP! Do not buy HP! Do not buy HP!

Lack of support
I'm purging my home of all HP products. Perhaps "purging" isn't the right word since all my HP products stopped working, they've abandoned me. First the power supply for my Slimline desktop burned out. HP sold me a new one, that also didn't work. Yes they took it back, minus my shipping charges. LaserJet 1012. The HP site says its drivers are available in Windows 7. Would be nice if Win7 knew that. I guess HP is ok with updating drivers for older products as long as they don't have to do it. PSC 1410... no idea why the error lights on that won't go out and frankly after all the other problems with HP, I don't care. I know as an individual HP couldn't care less about my business. But since I also control a half million dollar IT hardware budget, I can make sure no more HP products enter our door. But then, I guess $500, 000 is a tiny drop of nothing to HP.

Their tech support team steered me to the Mac
Recently purchased a brand new HP computer and immediately experienced trouble with the disc drive. I phoned their help line, assuming someone could guide me through the troubleshooting process. They kept me on the phone for two hours (this, despite my suggesting that it might be better if I just bring it back and exchange it under warranty) and kept switching me back and forth between operators. The end result was my asking to speak with a manager, rather than be put on hold again. When the manager did pick up, he basically yelled at me. I'm not even exaggerating. He raised his voice almost immediately and stated that if I was having such a difficult time with my computer, then perhaps I should "go back to using a pencil".
I finally hung up on him. The end result was that I returned that computer to Best Buy (where I was treated very fairly, I might add) and purchased a Mac for a little extra money.
My only praise for HP is that their tech support team steered me to the Mac. Great work, guys!

Dissatisfactory customer service
I am writing this in order to report a totally dissatisfactory customer service of the HP.
I had a problem with my computer's motherboard, which needed to be repaired or replaced. The computer was out of warranty. I called HP and requested a repair service. I described the problem with all the details. Since I am an Electrical and Computer Engineer, I also included all the technical details with the problem. They told me that I need to pay $329.00, and all the repair procedure will take no longer than 5 business days and they will return the computer back within 5 business days. I accepted to pay $329, and proceeded with the repair service and asked them few times to make sure that it will not be longer than 5 business days. Because I am using the computer very much and my jobs requires working on computer even when I come home.
On March 23, I requested the repair service. On March 26, I received the empty box to ship my computer. I put my computer in it, and shipped back to HP. On March 31, HP received my computer. Now, I have received an e-mail indicating that the expected delivery date is April 21, 2010. Therefore, it is almost a month, not 5 days.
I contacted HP with this regard to see why it's going to take more than they promised. The technician I talked to told me that my computer has already been serviced and shipped me back. When I asked for the tracking number, he gave me the tracking number of the empty box shipment. When I told him that this is not correct and they have just received my computer, the technician gave me another number which is related to the shipment from me to HP. Eventually, he connected me to the supervisor. He told me that the expected delivery is on 04/21/2010. When I reminded that the promised duration for the whole procedure was 5 days, he failed to give a reasonable respond. I have already stated my problem in details and I was promised to receive my computer back in 5 business days. Now, it's gonna be almost a month. This is not acceptable. I agreed to get my computer serviced because they promised me that it won't be more than 5 days. I already informed them regarding the problem and the solution steps, they were already aware of the problem. I can't understand why they increased the service time and put an estimated delivery of April 21. They also fail to give a reasonable explanation for this delay. Their technicians are very rude, make you hold on or stay online for so long, without giving a respond. They are also not qualified enough to discuss a problem with the customers and they are very disrespectful. For most of the time, they are not aware what the problem is and they only repeat some sentences that they memorized. I am totally dissatisfied with the HP's customer service. This is the second time I am having trouble with them. In the first time, they sold me a so-called "extended warranty" for 1 year. Than, they offered me a service repair for $299.99 and eventually told me that the extended warranty I purchased was only covering the phone support but nothing else. So I paid a lot of money and wasted a lot of time for absolutely nothing. They always tell that they are sorry when talking or chatting online; however, they can not provide a solution.
Upon your request, I can provide all the chat history that I had with them at the last time. You will agree with me. If they told me earlier, I would make other plans or I might not prefer to proceed with the repair service. They could have told me earlier regarding the estimated return date. They lied. Now, I will be without my computer for the next 21 days and it may even take longer. I don't trust HP anymore and I believe that they are the number one dishonest company in the US. I have already paid $329.00 for service and they can't repair my computer on time. I don't know what to do know. I requested this case to be escalated to a case manager, but no one called so far.

42 inch plasma flat tv
I bough a 42 inch hp plasma tv at circuit city two years ago, the screen went black and no audio after i had it for a year and few months. I paid $1800 at that time. I called hp to get it fixed and they were going to charge $600.00 just to come in to my house and check it plus time and parts. I decided not to buy another television, only after six months bought an insignia at best buys for $800, same size only a LCD. It is rediculous about this technology to pay so much for a tube that only can last a few years.

HP Plasma Lawsuit
Got a loud 'pop' then black screen on my 42' plasma hp tv. I called tech support and they said they know about the issue and they stopped fixing it for free in January of 09. Although I'm having the exact same issues a year later they want me to pay 629.00 for a tech to come 'try' to fix my problem..

HP Printer support is terrible
February 22, 2010
Printer Support
The HP Officejet 6500 is supposed to support Windows 2000.
They lie! They do not support the scanning function.
It took over 4 hours on the phone before their experts were able to figure this out.
OK. I am flexible. Let's try my Windows XP laptop.
3 calls and another 8 hours on the phone and they still can't install.
It gets worse.
They have scheduled 5 call backs and failed to call.
I initiated a complaint via the email they provide for their CEO.
They still can't seem to mange to call.
