inferior product
I bought a Pavilion 6500 desktop for my son 18 months ago.We have sent it back twice already with a fried hard drive.This time HP doesnt want to know anything exceptfor me to pay400 bucks for a new hard drive.Obviousely this is a defective unit which HP refuses to stand by.The people you talk to on the phone are not in the USofA, very hard to understand and are programmed like a robot telling you I apologise but this will cost you

i purchased my HP Pavilion dv4-1225dx notebook pc...within the first 3 months, i had problems getting online...spoke with the customer service rep for HP, and after nearly an hour they said it wasn't the computer...so i went thru my provider and they couldnt find anything wrong with the connection it was the computer...so back to HP, and they tell me they cant help me...then another 3months passes and suddenly my laptop wont play/read dvds or cds...i contact HP yet again, after running tests and quite a bit of BS, they decided they couldnt help me, big surprise there huh?...they said since im still under warranty(ive not had the laptop a year yet) they wanted me to erase my entire harddrive, and still couldnt explain the point of that...then they tell me that they'll send me another driver...as long as i give them my credit card info, cuz they'll send me the part, but if i dont get it within 15days and return the old one within this time, id be charged...I'D BE CHARGED?!?!?! it certainly seems to me like a run-around, giving the fact thay they couldnt promise me that the part would even be here in that time. I've lost any faith with their products and definitely with their so-called service...in the middle of trying to deal with this, the rep disconnected me...WTF?!?!? i'll never buy another HP anything!!! btw...i have a HP laptop for sale if anyones interested

Printer Driver installation
HP always tries to install extra software like "Shop for HP supplies" This is pretty much AdWare which is usually removed by your anti-virus software. It makes your computer run slow and is about 400 MB of junk you don't need. What a scandalous company!

Claim it Free if We dont get in 24 hrs
I visited Time square branch of Sharaf DG on 04 Sep 09 looking for an A3 printer for my personal use and I enquired with the sales person about the HP printer model HP K8600. The sales in charge Mr. Nazeer informed me that they don’t have that printer in stock and he asked me to fill a form (attached form herewith) and advised me that if they cannot source it within 24 hrs they will offer me with the substitute free of charge and I will be entitle for 100 Dhs. Gift voucher. They handed over me the voucher and advised me to come on 07 Sep at 4:40 pm to collect the item or free substitute if they cannot source the item. After four days I went to sharaf DG to collect the item as I haven’t received any call from them. Before going to them I tried to call on their tollfree no. 800344357 as advised by them on 5:02 pm, 5:12 pm, 5:28pm and 5:59 pm bcz I don’t want to waste my prayer times as it is very important time for us in Ramadan and my residence is far away from the showroom. But all in vain to contact them I went to them at 7:00 PM to collect the printer, after waiting 10 min at their customer service counter as the two customer care reps. were busy with other customers, when my turn came they advised me to see sales person at printer section, after going to printer section nobody was there to reply my query finally a sales guy informed me that I should see cash counter to get the requested item. When I approached cash counter, the lady over there (I forgot her name) informed me that she is in charge of this offer (find it here or claim it free after 24 working hrs) and explained me the 24hr mentioned to me is an error and the 24 hrs will end by tomorrow without specifying the time even on my insist and advised they will inform me within tomorrow, failure to which they will offer me the substitute free of charge. I agreed and return back eventhough they breached the promise in first instance. While my return at 8:07 PM person called Mr. Amul telephoned me and informed me that the item is not available with the distributor and they will offer me the substitute and he asked me to confirm the product as the price is almost double the requested one hence I could not take immediate decision as the amount is far beyond my expectation and same time I was happy that as per clause 4 last item, I will be offered free amount of my requested item. So I called him back and confirmed to procure the item. On next day with the help of my colleague I tried to get quotations just to see the price and availability as I was leaving for eid holidays from Monday 15/09/09 . I got the quotations from two leading suppliers of office automation and one among them Eminac is supplier for DG Sharaf. Both of them confirmed the price which is far less than DG sharaf and above that both promised me to give good discount on the quoted price but the availability of the printer was only after 2-3 weeks which was not suitable for me. On 08/09/09 I decide to collect the item and called mr. Amul to confirm the availability of the Printer and he confired to me after checking with the store over the phone but I couldnot collect the item on 9th due to some urgency. I went on10/09/09 at 9:00 PM after isha prayer, when I reached the cash counter they bought the printer but they refuse to give me free substitute due to their inability to procure the requested item and they were telling me that they provided me the substitute and the requested item is not available with the supplier. When I asked to provide with the proof as promised they were speechless, same time Mr. Nazeer who filled the form arrive to me and promise me that the proof from supplier will be emailed to me by Sunday hence you will not e entitle for the free substitute, but my question of 24 hr is still in large to them for which they don’t have explanation. I tried to explain them with simple example if I request for Toyota corolla and if you cannot source it in 24 w hrs either u should provide me the proof that supplier don’t have in stock or what ever it may be or provide free substitute but you cannot argue that we provide you Toyota Camry as you are in need of car which is my requirement in any case but what about your promise to provide requested item in 24 w hrs or get it free?.
If they are not in default then how they offered me the gift voucher that means in other way they are accepting their fault
I have following questions with them and I hope you can help me to get it answered by them and put in front of general public may be somebody else will be cheated daily with their false promise.
if the requested product is cannot be sourced only in two case 1. if the model is discontinued or they cannot source in 24hrs due to lack of stock in both cases they should provide proof to the customer upon expiry of the deadline or provide with free substitute but they failed to do either. And I cannot imagine what will be other cases where they can provide free other than above, which they closed by the above logic hence getting proof from the supplier which is easy get as supplier needs business and they provide whatever letter you request by them, hence it is nothing but a false promise to cheat innocent people putting such a conditions which cannot be fulfilled at all.
While buying the printer I requested for an additional set of cartridges and they were not in stock and they were reluctant to offer me the same and only promised verbally that they will inform me when they get the stock without filling the form by that you can feel how serious they are not to breach the promises

faulty laptop
Hi, I brought a HP Pavillion DV600 laptop under two and half years ago and since I brought it I have fault after fault, I have had to have a new hard drive, new cd drive, and now although out of warranty the screen does not turn on and beeps at me 3 yimes on start up, also the wifi connection stopped working shortly before this fault, the battery also does not work for longer than ten minutues.
I feel these faults are due to poor standard of manufacture and have seen lots of other people with the same complaints.

I was accessing Hewlet Packard directly and had no idea that you were involved. I have a warrantee in service and did not receive an answer from you. In any case you charged me three times and I never received an answer from you. Please refund all charges immediately.

HP customer service has become worse than McDonald's(if they ever had one)!!!
I HAD been a very loyal customer of HP products & used to highly recommend it to friends & colleagues - even over Macs!
Recently I ordered a very high end customized model with a coupon...within a week I found a cheaper coupon with more add-ons included. Since I had a custom built laptop it would take 2 weeks to build it & I called within a week & asked for the discount.
To my astonishment the Rep told me she could see the new customized model (I made it exactly the same configuration) in my cart with the discount but I would have to CANCEL my old order & rebook it to get the discount. She informed me it takes 3-5 business days to reverse the charge on my card (working with a large hotel I know it can take 2-3 weeks sometimes).
I asked to speak to her supervisor...who was very unhelpful & on top was very VERY unprofessional which made me make the decision of CANCELING the order right away. He gave me a hard time to cancel. He told me I had to wait until I get the laptop delivered (it won't be built for another week) & I would have to send it in & than get a refund!!!
I asked for his supervisor who was the same as him..Equally unhelpful!! I emailed the customer service as well..But all of them want to give me some stupid promotions & are sorry for inconvenience (the same old standard drafted automatic sorry email)
Should complaining to Better Business Bureau be the next step???

Faulty parts used
Hi,
I bought a Hp Pavillion Laptop Tx1000 in 2007 with one year warranty. Around 6-7 months back my laptop was showing blank screen and it was not working. I contact with Hp distributor. According to them Mother board has to replace and they gave me the Quotation for same. The Quotation was around 17000/-. I wanted to know the problem but they were not ready to tell me anything. Dispite of so many letters they didnt reply.
I tried to trace the problem on internet & i was very shocked to know that there is a manufacturing problem with the product only. All over the world the same problem with same model. I informed the distributor, now they agree about this problem but they are not ready to say anything officially or in writing. There are so many complaints on interenet for same model laptop.
As the warranty is lapsed but because of Nvidia chip the display problem. As I knew from Internet, because of heat produced by processor the Nvidia chip connection with motherboard gets melt and due to this the display problem arise. As this is poor quality of peripherals used by Hp I am facing the problem. So this is my humble request to you to solve this matter and do the justice with me and oblige.

repair issues
Had to send in laptop twice under warranty for problem and came bad twice with the same problem. HP refuses to fix problem saying it is now not under warranty. Wants to charge to do the repairs that were not done under warranty

Customer Service
HP has the WORST customer service EVER. So far 35mins returning their call to get a fedex box to return my 2wk old crashed computer.
I spent 7 mins navigating through an automatic answering service that was confusing, very frustrating, and ultimately pointless. I had to repeat my address and email 4 times during the call, there were numerous numbers thrown at me as well as an explanation of the 11th anniversary of HP in India (what?!). Everything that was repeated to me was already confirmed in previous emails, and I was told everything we talked about today would also be sent in an email. I was told the anti-virus software that CAME WITH THE COMPUTER was faulty and I had to BUY a different program for $49.00. Apply my hourly to the time of the call, and today alone I've spent 2.1 times the cost of the original purchase, in addition to the original service inquiry and follow-up emails.
And now they want me to pay for shipping, too.
