HP Laptop Hinge Recall
I registered my laptop with HP but was not notified that there was a Hinge Recall but because my hinge was giving trouble I googled it and found the recall.<br />
<br />
I called HP March 2009 and after some trouble they sent me the WARRANTY ACCEPTANCE email below:-<br />

I was overseas for a couple of months and when I returned I found a box from HP. About 10 days later I had to travel again and I didn't have time to backup my laptop and install all of the programs onto another computer. So, it had to wait until I got back. By the time I did get a replacement notebook and load all of my software and data so I could continue to work it was June 2009 which is when I shipped my notebook to HP Service.<br />

On 14 July 2009 I received the following email:-<br />

I rang HP and was told that because my notebook was received and processed after 1 July 2009 HP would not repair it as they claimed that the hinge recall had expired. I explained that I had registered before the end of the recall but HP would not budge and they shipped my unrepaired notebook back to me.<br />
<br />
So, HP is not reasonable and, in my view, their customer service STINKS! - it seems to be all about HP and not about the customer or what is right.<br />
<br />
Can anyone help me get HP to do what is right?<br />

Poor service!
I received my laptop as new, out of the box it ran very slow and after 15 minutes stopped altogether, I contacted HP support and was guided through various restart attempts including system restore and system boot disc none worked. I was sent a box and the laptop was sent back to HP. The laptop also was not built to my specifications chosen from the websites build your own lists. It had items I did not want and it lacked items I did want.

I have called many times and been given a quality control number and was told a case manager would contact me, no one did. I have called 5 times Monday to Friday and I got the same auto message that all case managers are busy and can I call back tomorrow. I am $1700 out of pocket and no laptop.

Dissatisfied with this product and service I am receiving!
My Laptop is 2 months old and I cannot use it unless it is plugged int to the electric outlet. I call and spoke to customer service and have been on the phone for hours trying to problem solve. This has went on for weeks. All I need is a new battery and HP will not provide me with any info on this problem. Also I have purchased a hp desktop which I have had since April 2006. The CD burner is not working. I purchased the extended warranty for both computers and the only help I get is talking to someone on the phone for hours and then they cannot solve the problem so they tell me to call tomorrow. this has been going on for months. I need help! I am very dissatisfied with this product and service I am receiving.
