I bought a top of the line (at that time) HP Pavillion dv6707 us over a year ago. I spent the extra money for the equipment and pay the monthly extra charges to be able to go wireless. Two months after using my new laptop, the unit 'decides' to 'ask me to register a user and product name'. It had my name and supposedly the product 'code/number' was that which was on the bottom of the laptop. I entered the number and the laptop REFUSED ITS OWN CODE/ NUMBER!!!
I called HP Tech support and was told to exchange EVERY LETTER AND EVERY NUMBER with all 24 letters of the alphabet and all digits - - - - thats like playing the lottery - and I was and have LOST! (we're talking like over 20 letters and digits to 'intermingle' and MAYBE come up with the right combination that the laptop accepts.
One day I got an email with a survey from HP and I told them the problem again - in the survey (that I have a completely non-useable laptop sitting around that cost me over $700 and was not/am not happy. They called me a day or so later and asked me to call them if I 'still hadn't figured out the code/number'... only problem was I couldn't understand or hear their phone number to call back to or my 'reference number' to state when I made the call.
I have spent several months in and out of hospitals for an incurable illness and it would have been nice to have had a working laptop. But at the same time, I could not contact them (HP) as I was in the hospital.
On top of that, I did not receive all the rebates I was entitled to despite having sent all needed items in on time.
No, I will NEVER buy another HP product and do NOT recommend it to others.
