poor service
I made an online payment many days ago, and have yet to receive credit or a response to my questions. Their service is pathetic, and they should not be allowed to handle your cards. It is so bad, I am seriously considering destroying my card and cancelling the service.

Savings Account - Failure to show fees and debits online
The normal procedure of maintaining an account is to have a balance of 25000 over a quarter period. Now I have not been able to maintain this balance for numerous reasons, which is not up for debate now. There are charges levied against your account incase this is not maintained.
What is indeed a painful issue is that these levies cannot be seen on the account statement. The balance statement of the account does not reflect this amount, and the account is put on hold for want of payment of these charges.
My issues is that unless I see that there are charges, that i need to pay before i can start using the account again, i cannot do anything. In short, nowhere in the account statement could i see that such a charge is being levied on my account. The least that the account should have showed is an overdraft or a negative balance, which I could resolve by paying. But unless this is not visible to me, i am not in a position to envisage such a hold on my account.
I recently transfered an amount of Rs. 36000 into the account, and issued a cheque for Rs 35000, unassuming that there is such a hold on my account. I was never told of it. The cheque bounced!! and I had to face the embarrasement of not having an honorable cheque, despite having the amount in the account, AND having to pay chq bouncing charges.
I later discovered, that i have to call the customer care to remove this hold, which would further take 5 working days for the process to be completed.
Such shoddy management is nothing short of being called ridiculous! My suggestion to all, take your monies out from this bank if you have already committed such a mistake
I inted to move the courts soon.

Late fees!
HSBC does it again!!! I can never get a straight answer from HSBC and they charged me a second time on late fees and FAILED to tell me that I can pay my bill at any HSBC branch. They don't even post this on-line. They even pick a date again for when my payment will be taken out, causing me to have a late fee and they refuse to work with me.
Below, was my first issue with HSBC and they NEVER mentioned to me that I could pay my bill anytime at any HSBC branch. I travel a lot, been on-time with my credit card payments. With HSBC you have two options of payments, one by mail or two by on-line payments. There are times I do not have access to a computer due to my job and traveling. My payment was due Saturday 9/8/07. I went on-line before noon on 9/6/07 and made my payment, BUT when I tried to schedule my payment to come out the next day of 9/7/07, the system would not allow me, it picked a date of 9/10/07. I was very upset about this. On that same date, I emailed HSBC and told them what happened, they acknowledged my payment and stated it would not post 2-3 business days, which caused me to have a $35.00 late fee. I continued to email HSBC about my late fee and how it was wrong for the on-line system to pick a date and not allow my payment to show the next day. HSBC said they could not comply with my request to remove the late fee.
I have other credit cards and when I make a payment, it’s taken out the following day even if it’s on a Saturday. I feel HSBC is allowing these types of actions to take place which in hand they charge this outrageous late fees of $35.00. They can acknowledge payment, but on “their” term which is unfair and very costly, it has to post within 2-3 business days. HSBC also stated in their email to me that “I” scheduled a payment for 9/10/07, which is untrue and I explained many times to HSBC by email what took place and that it was HSBC on-line system that PICKED the date, I did not pick the date and again they emailed me back saying they cannot comply with my request.

Poor service!
One of the hsbc agent came to my office, showing lucrative offers on the credit card, although i applied for a maximum amount of 25,000 INR while i got the card i found that the max limit is 50,000. But the wrong thing was that, they have sent me one extra credit card which has my mother's name on that, when i tried to contact the hsbc customer. I found it a totally nonsense and useless thing it is asking for some internet pin which i haven't received yet, so now am afraid that they may charge some amount on that unwanted card also. I need to reject that card, so i need some suggestion from you people.
Thanks n regards,
bibhu.

Calling at all hours of the day , to employment.
The phone calls start early in the am and continue all day. When the call is answered there isn't any one there to answer. Occasionally there is a recording and you wait and then no one answers and /or it hangs up.

Unsolicited calls!
I started getting phone calls from this number 909-397-3080 about a week ago. They call about every two hours. Tonight I finally picked up the phone. I got an automated message that someone wanted to speak to me then a woman got on the phone. She did not introduce herself. When I explained that the account I have with them is enrolled with a debt resolution company and offered her the creditor hotline she flat refused. She kept on trying to talk to me about the account. I finally gave her the phone number, talking over her while she was talking and then hung up on her when she asked to verify my address. Are people crazy? Yes, I got myself into money trouble and I am attempting to get out of it but am still getting harassed. I don't understand.

Automated phone calls
This company is on an automated phone call schedule, regularly calling people at their workplaces. Clogs switchboards, irritates all receptionists. No way to reach a human and remove phone number from automated phone list.
Beware!
