Poor service!
Now this is not a complaint solely on the business practices of HSBC, although I promised their supervisor I would be filing a formal complaint with the B.B.B. in some form.
Recently I had the honor of receiving a phone call from an HSBC bank (our credit card) customer service call. I picked up the phone and heard nothing... Then a distant and crackled voice whispered..." Is An... ddddrr... drea??? there? Huh!
I immediately put my youngest son down to bed and freed myself to wonder what kind of numbskull in this day and age could not pronounced the name Andrea. Not a good start in my book for this C.S.Rep. When it became clear in my mind who she was referring to I responded by asking her who this was and what company she was calling from. She (American) spoke a kind of crackled and sloppy english that let me know exactly what this character did last night...and was continuing to do on her early morning trips to the restroom. She sounded as though she had been doped up and placed in a tin can to be opened at a later date. That time unfortunately had to be now. When I asked her what her name is she said "Linda..." I couldn't make out the last name. When it became evident that this young tripper was not going to be of any use to me I asked to speak to her supervisor. She immediately told me he was on a phone call "I'll HOLD" I said. After several attempts by LIN-DUH to get me to end the call because Mr. supervisor was (not going to be happy with LIN-DUH) busy I belted. Finally he came over the phone and asked what he could do to help. I only asked him one thing before I began " Do you now or have you ever hired someone under the influence of a controlled substance? I then asked him if he would replay the call back for him and all his co-workers and then have human resources rethink this one. My guess is if she is within her 30 days of employment there is still a chance for you to do the world some good. But they probably hired this one based on a quota so nothing will get done.

Bank transfer error!
I made a bank Transfer over the internet for 20,000 AED into a foreign account. The bank called me to clarify what funds the transfer would be made in and I confirmed that it would be for 20,000 AED. The bank then transferred 103,000 AED. This is my rent money and I will not be able to pay my rent because the bank are saying it will take up to 14 days to sort this problem out. I do not have 14 days to wait as I need to pay my rent on the 1st of August and I am marrying on the 30th August.

Fraud collection tactics!
I wanted to pay my son's past due payments to avoid repossession of his vehicle. I called HSBC over a period of 4 hours and was repeatedly, and I believe DELIBERATELY, hung up on by each person I spoke to. I offered to pay the past due amount on my credit card in order to expedite matters. I was told HSBC wouldn't "use debt to pay debt". I explained that I have no dealings of my own with HSBC, and that if I wanted to use my own credit card to pay them it would not impact them or my son in any way, except to better my son's account status. They still said NO. So I express mailed them a cashiers check, only to be told that wasn't good enough, either. It was a Moneygram or Western Union, or no dice. So now I have to stop payment on the cashiers check (there is a wait of 90 days to get that money back!!), and I have to pay a fee to use Moneygram - which will let me pay on my credit card!!

Poor service
I asked for a photo - copy of my title to be faxed, so I can register my car in a different state and they told me it would take up to 30 days for the fax to come through! My credit union would have had my title to me in 30 minutes! I know now to never bank with these jokers.

HSBC still referred my account to NCO Financial
I have attempted to pay this company what I owe them. This company has still referred this account to NCO Financial, but I still receive calls from them even though HSBC has received a cease and desist letter from my attorney.

Harassing phone calls
3 to 4 times a day, 7 days a week keep getting a phone call from 800-684-8429 (HSBC) on my cell phone. When I pick up, all I get is a silence for a few seconds and then a recording... Never spoken with a life person...

Unsolicited interest charges
Despite making payments in time, HSBC has billed me unsolicited interest charges and that too incremental, obviously, I did not pay them these wrong Debits on my card.
HSBC is thus cheating people who generally takes things as right and do not look into the details of it.
Despite making several complaints, HSBC has not resolved my issue with any proper clarification except refusing to address my concern and insisting on payments.
HSBC is not even willing to inform about options available to resolve this and not even informing contacts of Ombudsman for such issues.
Friends, be aware of such Cr. Card companies who enjoy on your hard earned money.

I get 8 calls a day, even on Sunday from HSBC, they are for my daughter who does live here... who can I call to stop these calls?

Preclosure of personal loan A/C - customer harassment
I live in Vikas Puri, New Delhi-18.I took a personal loan from HSBC Loan A/C No. 052-478898-872 for 5 yrs. On 9th dec. 2006 i made a request for a pre-closure of my personal loan a/c. I was told that on 15th the letter has been dispatech to my emailing address. But till date i have not received the letter. I know the HSBC'S intention behind this ,is to get more and more interest against my loan as i wanted to close the a/c quickly.
When i visited the punjabi bagh branch on 23rd dec, 2006 without the pre-closure letter they refused to accept it. My complain was again registered for the pre-closure letter and i was told that they will get a feedback on this complaint by 31st dec,2006. That mean that i have to pay the interest as well till that date or beyond the date when i have the pre-closure letter in my hand.Even when i have cash in hand and i wanted to close the a/c on 23rd dec. as well when i went there with the cash, i can't do anything. I am trapped here. Stay away from HSBC!

HSBC Personal Loans are cheats!
I had approached HSBC in Bombay for a personal loan. Upon approaching them, they promised to get me the loan within two days and the lady officer gave me a list of documents which I was supposed to produce. After submitting everything I waited for the verification process.
The verification process took forever but somehow got completed. Later after 1 more week I was asked for more documents - like no objection certificate from my Uncle in whose house I was living. Then one more period of waiting after which I was asked for my Form 16.
This process lasted more than one month and finally I was informed that my loan was "approved" and a person was sent to my house to collect security cheques. Once I gave the cheques, the disbursement never came! I kept on following up with the executives and they kept saying that there was one small delay, but declined to tell me what it was. After 15 days I got exaseparated and asked for my chqs back. It has been 10 days after since incident they have neither given me the cheques back, nor have they disbursed my loan.
I would advice any sane minded person to refrain from approaching an unprofessional bank like HSBC for a loan.
