Why didn't I get a call?
I see all these people complaining about constant phone calls, but I can't get one call when my account is going to be sent to collections for $10. I made all my payments online and had EXCELLENT payment history. Payed off total balance (or thought I did) for a brand new street bike in less than a year. When I was about to pay the remaining balance online, I chose the option "Pay TOTAL balance due". Well to me, that would put my balance at $0. Instead, I had "trailing interest" of around $10 that I was sent to collections for without a single call. When I found this out, I contacted HSBC and all I was told over and over is that "we have done nothing wrong". Well to me, HSBC has done something wrong. They have deceived me by placing an option on their site that says "pay total balance" when you are not really paying TOTAL balance.

LATE FEES
Purchased a living room set from Mor Furniture on the HSBC Credit Plan. It was two years no interest. During the first year every payment made there was a late fee. I tried dealing with this idiots to no-avail. I even paid two months in advance during this ordeal and still the monthly invoice showed a late fee. I contacted them for the last time and asked for the payoff amount and gladly made that payment right then over the phone. Interesting enough I received another late fee the following month. When I went to Purchase a new vehicle the following year, those bastards knocked my credit score down over a $5.00 made up late fee. Any organization affiliated with HSBC will not get my business.

Constant Calls
Last month I made a payment to my Mastercard on HSBC's website instead of through my bank as usual; the payment was made well before the due date, and my motive was seeing about getting the payment credited immediately. A *week and a half* later, I finally called them since the funds had not been removed from my checking account, and the (thickly-accented Indian) agent I spoke on the phone only *then* chose to inform me that the payment had been sent back for reasons he did not/would not reveal. When I attempted to pay them over the phone with my debit card, it was declined three times and he would not tell me why other than to state the glaringly obvious ("Sir, your card is being declined."). I made the payment through my bank later that week when I was paid and the money was accepted then, but since then they have been hassling me with constant phone calls and are trying to make me pay a late fee as well as two months' worth of payments at once in order for me to be up to date. They accepted my payment I made for this month just fine last week, but this is ridiculous. I refuse to pay a late fee that is based on their people's incompetence and the fact that even though they had my contact information (phone number and email address), they failed to contact me ASAP regarding this issue, as they should have in the first place, and I have contacted them via email to tell them this. Would calling the Better Business Bureau make a difference in this matter? I hope so, since this is nonsense!!!

Closed account without notice
It had been about 3 months since I last used my HSBC card. I have had it since 1998 and it was in good standing. I used it online and it was rejected.
I called HSBC and found out that it the account had been closed due to inactivity. NO NOTICE given at all. I was told I could reapply. I asked if it would be closed again if I didn't use it in 3 months and was told yes.
This could have been a big problem if I was using it for airline tickets to get somewhere for an emergency and this was the only card I had. I will never do business with HSBC again!

Terrible company
I, like many consumers, ran into financial difficulty a few years back, and fell way behind on my HSBC credit card payments. After a few months I received a notice, HSBC would settle for and amount below the balance. I called, arranged a payment plan, and paid off the total in August.
Despite this I constantly receive notices stating I am overdue, or offering a "settlement." Every time I get a notice I call and explain this, and they confirm I have paid off the balance, stating they just haven't finished processing it. When I get another notice, I call, am told the same thing, now going on 6 months. They continue to report to credit agencies, despite the fact the balance was paid off in August. I have reported this to the state attorney general, avoid this terrible company.

Keeps calling early morning, late night including weekends - can't understand (slurred voice and makes noises on phone) in addition to trying to convince me to buy credit protection services.

Overseas wire transfer delay
Dear,
After two years of good relationship between our company and HSBC as one of the horned organizations in the banking services, I am sorry to said that we are considering to reevaluate our business services with HSBC due to the continuous delays of our overseas transfer performed via the internet banking.
The story repeated for more than four times, each time we make the transfer and fill in all required information, and after 3 to 5 business days a HSBC’s representative call us to ask about the transfer information (knowing that it is the same vendor that we transfer to him each time) and what it is for and what is the name of the company and what we are working for and … and … and …
Finally he is inform us that the transfer have been canceled by USA branch, and it is out of his hand, and the only what we get 1) the apologize for HSBC (each time) for this, 2) delay penalty from the vendor due to the delay of transfer.
The issue is that our company name is ” URANIUM, for Information Technology consultation services “and HSBC USA is always thought about us as uranium producer not IT service company, knowing that all leagal documentation and paper work for our company (which of course HSBC have it) is prove that we are only working in information technology service filed only
I don’t know if we can resolve this but unfortunately HSBC agent inform me that this issue will still present each time that we made an overseas transfer, and the only solution is to change our company name and this is was the latest word that I could imagine a big organization like HSBC thought about.
So could you please advice if there is a permanent resolution for this, or should we start doing business with other entity that can be reliable on this service ?
By the we already deal with other three big banking names before HSBC for about four years and this issue did not occurred at all.
Thank you for your support,
Mohamed Hamed
