lousy service for the price
Back in September, I called Hughes Net to see about getting high speed internet service. I told them that my husband was disabled and that was all he had to do and that we get on facebook and play farmville. We are addicted to it. And that we don't download music or movies. They said that we should be fine on the basic package. It worked fine for a month or 2 and then we started exceeding are download allowance. I called them, and told them what was going on and they said that we would probably have to move up to the next package and of course they would give us a discount for 3 months. It worked fine for a week or 2 and then the same thing happened again. Then 1 day I was on the internet and then it went off and I couldn't get it to come back on and I even rebooted it. I called Hughes Net and they ran their test and something was wrong the equipment and that it was not under warranty. That it would cost us $125.00 and I told them to turn it off, Then they said they could give us a $90.00 credit and that it would only cost us $35.00 and I still said to turn it off. They finally said that they would fix it for free. I had to call the technician to see when they were coming out, and they were busy and they couldn't come out until the next week. I called back and they got a technician out 2 days later, the technician said that the equipment belongs to Hughes Net and that it was under warranty. He fixed it and we were up and running again. Then, we started going over our download allowance again, so they moved us up to the next package and of course they would give us a discount. They made it sound good in the beginning, and maybe it is good if you have plenty of money and you are not planning on getting on the internet. But we live from week to week and we don't have alot of money. For the amount of money that we pay for this internet we should unlimited use and the speed should be faster. All this is, is a money scheme. I want to have it turned off, but they want to charge us $300.00 and we have to take it down off the roof and send it back. I don't know how that is going to happen since my husband is disabled and I can't climb up there. It is their equipment and they put it up there, if I have to pay $300.00, then why can't they come and get the junk. I hope that I can get some help with this!
