I have been a Hughes customer for several years now. I have never called for support and have paid my bill on time every time. I just discovered that the home service offered to new customers has a download speed of 1.0 mbps. My home service is only 700 kbps. The price is the same but the new customers get a better service. I understand that my modem needs to be upgraded to a HN7000S to get faster speeds and I don't have a problem with that. The problem is that I was told that I would have to upgrade to the Pro plan and $69.99 to get that speed or buy all new equipment like a new customer. THIS IS RIDICULOUS! How can you justify a new customer getting better service then a long standing good customer? Every answer that I got from customer care added up to me spending more money. This is no way to treat your customers. I expect to be treated fairly by the people I do business with or I don't do business with them. You have competitors and I will go to them. I know that I will get the same speed or have to pay more for the faster speed, but I will do that because I refuse to give my money to a company that will treat its good customers like this. To top this all off, while trying to get some answers you’re your 'customer support' the guy just hung up on me. I was not being rood or attacking him at all, he just did not like the questions I was asking. I am very upset and will be changing my service very soon if I cannot get this problem resolved. I expect to be contacted by a manager very soon. My contact information is on this email. Again, this is no way for a company to do business and I will NOT do business with a company that has these kinds of policies.
