Rip Off on Weight!
On May 14, 2010 I contacted Hunter Relocation (ZEN Vanlines) to inquire about a quote on moving from Atlanta to Beverly Hills, California. I was given a quote of $1375 for 2500 pounds by JASON. On May 23, 2010, Hunter Reloc. arrived at my home in a Penske truck. After loading I followed the driver to the weigh station, he advised me that my load weighed 5400 lbs instead of 2500 lbs. I knew that the small amount of items could not total 5400 lbs. They then gave me a quote of $4883.I asked for the weigh tickets, they refused to give them to me. I demanded them to return my items back home. The driver called Paul (owner). Paul asked me to give his company a chance; he would fix this. He asked if they could take my furniture to their warehouse and he would take a look at everything and call me on Monday. I gave the driver a deposit of $2000, advised by PAUL. He contacted me on Tuesday. I advised him that I would come to the warehouse and pick up my items. He then advised me that he would discount it and only charge me for 4000 lbs. He said when they delivered my items in CA, I would only owe $565. My furniture was supposed to be delivered on 06/02/10. However, it remained in their warehouse until Friday, 06/11/10, as advised by JASON. Only June 13 at approx. 11:15pm (11 days after promised delivery date), my furniture finally arrived at my home by a 3rd party moving company. I advised the driver that I wanted a reweigh before they unloaded. I followed the driver to the weigh station . Truck was weighed at 11:42 pm. Truck was reweighed the following day at 6:32pm-couldn’t unload after reweigh-too late. After weight was completed, my load was only 2500 pounds! I contacted Paul to advise him of the discrepancy he wouldnt come to the phone. JASON proceeded to say that once they received weigh tickets an immediate refund would be issued. I contacted them daily on status updates and kept getting the run around. As of today, I still havent received a refund...keep getting from Shelly the receptionist that Jason or Paul isnt avaiable. BEWARE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY..they also operate as ZEN VAN LINES...WHICH HAS NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS
