service/sales
Huntington is a terrible bank. Terrible service. The staff is ignorant. Ask questions and they do not know answers. Instead, they try to cover up their ignorance by attempting to cross-sell something to you. I has an employee tell me that she is constantly afraid of losing her job unless she meets her goals. My niece's friend works there and hates it, but it is a job for now. She said that one manager was recently fired for some "unethical" behavior regarding opening up accounts for her family because she was so desperate and afraid of being short on her goals. There is so much pressure on the staff. What happened to service? STAY AWAY!

Auto and banking fraud
The president and CEO of Huntington National Bank, Stephen Steinour phone number 1-614-480-3327, does not have the ability to hire fraud investigators to stop fraudulent and predatory lending practices. His phone calls and e-mails go un-answered when I was demanding answers as to why they allowed me to be involved in a fraudulent loan and then demanded the $28.000.00 to be paid back from the dealership and leave me hung out to dry. They sent me a letter stating that Midway Chevrolet was now the lien holder and told me to deal with them directly. Nice that they stuck by their client! Huntington also kept my car payments and they were paid back more than what the loan amount was for by the dealership. They never even returned the payments to myself or gave them to the dealership. Jackie Yochus the fraud investigator was only aware of what happened because of the help of a consumer advocate and I, sadly we are better at her job than she is. I am wondering why anyone that is an investor at this bank would want to trust their hard earned money in a place that allows these things to happen. The only thing they had to do was call me and verify my job and income and this would have never have happened at all, because the dealership lied about those things and much more. The bank also didn’t verify that I was even the actual owner of the trade in, I was not. The list is endless of the stupidity of this bank and the people they have watching out for their investor’s hard earned money. Get out now if you can, with all the banks failing there is no better time. These fraudulent auto loans are the same as what took down the mortgage industry and closed banks, by lying and getting people into loans they knew they couldn’t afford.

Refinance rip-off
Was told by Huntington Bank mortgage officer that our application for a refinance was "approved"-paid for appraisal-submitted all paperwork. For 5 months loan officer assured us it was ok. After the 1st 90 days we had to "resign" papers as we were told the government changed the application. That was when I saw the "closing costs" had climbed to $8000 on a $135, 000 loan! Huntington had me open a checking account to "direct pay" the loan. I never signed papers or put money into the account but they charged me $100 "overdraft"-they called my homeowners insurance company and cx my policy and said they "now hold the note' but they never did-I had to pay late fee to re-instate the insurance. I have repeatedly requested the appraisal that I paid for but they will not give it to me or answer my calls or letters.
They turned me down for being "30 days late" when it was a"pass a payment" at their bank and THEY APPROVED IT!
Stay away-so unprofessional. The title company doing the work called me after 60 days and told me the loan officer "forgot to order the appraisal" after I gave them $300. The appraiser was a close friend of the loan officer-bank teller who opened checking was a friend and the insurance company was associated with them also. It is a shame our government gives these banks our money and they hoard it-may they "rot in hell"!
