I filled up my car in Livingston Texas . I drove it to Huntsville, Texas and was going to fill it up before I started my trip to Denton, Texas .
My car is a 1997 Lumina and regularly gets 28 to 29 miles per gallon of gas.
When I stopped to fill up at this station I had 87 miles on my trip odometer so I figured it would take approx 3 gallons of gas to fill it up for the trip to Dallas.
I started to fill up and the pump was going very slow. I ask the attendant why it was going so slow and they said because they had just filled up the tanks and the pressure had not built up yet.
I left the nozzle in the gas tank fill opening and after about 25 minutes it finally finished filling and it showed to have pumped 6.127 into my vehicle which is impossible to do because I had only driven 87 miles since I had filled the tank in Livingston, Texas. I ask the attendant about it and tried to explain the situation but all they had to say was that they did not own anything to do with the pumps and told me to go ahead and complain.
With todays high prices I think it is a shame that people have to also try to get more by not making sure their pumps are calibrated correctly. I am a long time customer of Shell and find
this to be very upsetting at the least.
I hope I get a response to this letter (although I would not bet on it ) and some satisfaction to this complaint.
