Danger
BUYERS BEWARE. HYUNDAI HAS PURPOSELY DESIGNED A SAFETY FLAW IN THEIR SONATA REAR DECK BRAKE LIGHTS. WHEN THEY FAIL, YOU HAVE TO BRING THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER TO GET THE LIGHT REPLACED. THIS EXPENSIVE AND TIME CONSUMING REQUIREMENT WILL CERTAINLY RESULT IN MANY LIGHTS NOT BEING REPLACED AND MANY POTENTIAL ACCIDENTS. E-MAILS TO HYUNDAI VERIFY THAT THEY PURPOSELY LEFT THE ISSUE OUT OF THEIR OWNERS MANUALS AND YOU CAN PURCHASE A REPAIR MANUAL, HOWEVER THE ACTUAL REMOVAL OF THE LAMP IS TIME CONSUMING AND PAINFUL. DO NOT BUY A HYUNDAI!!

Crooked salespeople
I recently purchase a NEW Santa Fe at Atlantic Hyundai. I had a trade in and was quoted the final price including trade in. They changed the invoice charging me quoted price without the trade in. Cost me an extra $3000. They then offered extra optional equipment that was already included in the car. They intentionall had witheld the window sticker, so I would not notice it. They even accused me of trying to cheat them. They never gave me the money back and they never apologized. Manager is the biggest crook of all. THEY ARE CROOKS||| STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALER.

Worst company ever
I ran over a truck tire on the highway and cracked my bumper cover. no problem. 2 years later my transmission DIED and was leaking fluid.
I had it towed to Pride Hyundai in seakonk, ma. they said they won't warrintee it because it looks like I hit a curb. Only problem is that it was leaking from the top. If I hit a curb It would leak from the bottom. I called Hyundai corperate many time and all they do is refer back to the dealer.
In the end I did not get anywhere with the dealer or hyundai motors. So I took my car to AAmco transmissions. Did an amazing job but they are scam artists. It cost me 2995.00 for them to rebuild it. Hyundai comes with a 10yr 100000 mile warrentee but it's not worth the paper it's printed on.
My car was only at 15, 000 miles when my transmission went. Do yourself a favor. Spend the extra money to get a honda or toyota.

Terrible experience
I asked for a due date change and was denied. It seems they only allow one or two due date changes throughout the entire loan. So I am stuck with $20 late fees every month. Never again will I use this company to finance my Hyundai and we love Hyundais and plan to purchase more in the future. In fact, the dealership that bamboozled us into financing through them, we will not buy from again.
We pay our mortgage in the beginning of the month, instead of the middle of the month now, and so we can only pay on the 15th, and they will not change our due date to the 15th. They Suck!!!

Bad experience
I swerved to avoid hitting a bear. I lost control and hit a tree head on. Suffered numerous injuries and was flown by helicopter to Kingsport Tennessee from Ky., because of the need for specialized orthopedic surgery. My air bags did not deploy. When I contacted Hyundai they ask for various documents police report, color photographs, inspection forms from the insurance evaluation. The vehicle was a total loss. They sent me a letter asking what I wanted as a settlement, I replied a new car and help with my medical if Medicare and my insurance did not cover. As of now all bills have been covered the accident was 06-06-2008 I have tried many times to try to take care of this matter without any negative results to the Hyundai corp. then I went on line at Hyundai consumer reports and found that there have been hundreds of their air bags that failed to deploy. I guess that explains why I can’t get a reply from their legal dept. I am a fixed income widow. I have had to get transportation to and from all my medical appointments. And I am still not thru.

Don't let the big companies treat you like a nothing!
I got a car on 10/27/06 from a Hyundai dealership. The dealership said I was good to go then 5 days later contacted me saying I could get a better interest rate if I wanted to add my wife to the note.I gave them the info.
expecting a better rate, but instead about 10 days later I get a call telling me I had to bring back the car or give them 5000.00 dollars.I later found out this tactic is called trying to make more money on the back end of the deal.So buyers beware not only was this embarrassing but they didn't pay any on my trade-in,so it put me behind on it.They also hit my credit about 28 times.I contacted BBB but have not yet heard from Hyundai about this matter. So beware of these practices.Would also like to add they only had 7 days to find financing not 16 and should only run your credit 3 or 4 times not 28 times. Every time it is run it hurts your score don't let them tell you different and don't let the big companies treat you like a nothing!!!

No reimbursement!
I received a letter from Hyundai Motor America that my 2000 Tiburon was recalled due to a potential crack in the exhaust manifold. I was stationed in Germany at the time, so I called Hyundai to find out what I could do. The employee told me I could have the repairs done anywhere, and after I sent in receipts I would be reimbursed. I spent four months finding a German Hyundai dealer that would fix the problem. Additionally, during this period there was exhaust fumes leaking into the vehicle and I was pregnant. On May 22, 2006 I mailed Hyundai my receipt along with a letter detailing the ordeal I had gone through and how unhappy I was with the service given. In June I received a Customer Reimbursement Form and a letter stating Hyundai needed a copy of the title to the car. I mailed that information on June 24 and they claim to have received it on July 10. Every week since August I have called Hyundai Consumer Affairs and they tell me they have no information, but they would send an e-mail to Hyundai Corporate to check the status and someone would call me back. The reality is, e-mails were not sent as I was told, and no one calls me back. During one conversation I was told only the Customer Reimbursement Form was received on July 10th. I have mailed them paperwork three times. The cost of the repairs was $1673.53. I consulted a lawyer about the matter. He tried to talk to Hyundai about setting a timeline for when I would receive my reimbursement, but Hyundai refused to cooperate.
