I pumped $40.00 worth of gasoline into my 13 gallon gas tank. The next day I began experiencing intermittent losses of power (the ones on the highway were really scary, my car suddenly slowing down with no brake lights) wouldn't start until I pumped the gas and cranked the starter at least 5 times and the check engine light on continually along with the temperature gauge flip flopping from hot to warm.
I didn't know it was bad gas, so I began replacing all of the things that may cause this problem such as spark plugs, radiator hoses, thermostat, oil change, etc. Finally, 2 mechanics (both told me it was bad gas causing the problems), my labor every night after work, borrowing a car from a cancer patient, paying for rides to work, a bottle of STP, the gas was finally driven out of the tank and new gas put in. It runs fine now.
This company will not show me the daily gasoline pump reports, but tell me I have to get an attorney to see them. On the same day, I went into a Shell gas station and they showed me their reports on their pumps with complete openness and honesty. Why won't Hyvee show me their reports? I asked them to pay for at least the rides to work and part of the $450.00 in expenses I incurred as a result of spending $40.00 at their gas pumps. I have a friend in Iowa who has had the same experience with their gasoline.
