I had paid $500.03 for the tax preparation service. The actual amount for the services I availed are $250. I had contacted the business several times over phone and email requesting for the refund of the excess amount they collected from me. It has been 6 months but I have not received my money. Before the payment, every day they used to call me asking to make the payment. After payment there is no response and if someone attends the call they will transfer to some other person and I had to explain the entire story. The response I get is that my request is forwarded to accounts department. This is the same response since 6 months.

IBSN is one of the uttermost cheating company. They charged me $450 for filing my tax returns but they have not filed all my tax returns to all the states I worked for. Later on I paid penalty to the State Tax department but they are not refunding me the penalty I paid on behalf of them. They are not responding through email or phone also.

DO NOT FILE WITH THIS CHEATING IBSN TAX company to file your tax returns in USA.

I have been charged for Itemized deductions but I have chosen standard deductions. I need to get refund of 160 $. I called several times but no one picked up the phone for 2 months. At last one day someone from the customer care lifted the call and asked me to put a message through "Notify Escalated Issues" and asked me to drop a mail to Ravi Shankar who is in-charge of Tax returns. When I escalated this issue, I got the below reply from Ravi Shankar.

"Dear Taxpayer-- The reversal request is forwarded to the finance dept and shall see that this amount be reversed at the earliest and this delay is due to the delay from our insurance carrier in reverting the payment. We appreciate your kind cooperation until such time".

This was given almost a month back, but no response after that. I am trying to call them no one is picking the phone. Now even I am trying to send mails in "Notify Escalated Issues" but it's showing "Invalid Staff ID Provided".I sent many mails directly to Ravi Shankar mail id but no response from him.

I really frustrated with this IBSN TAX. Please never ever file your tax returns through "IBSN TAX". I am wondering how come this company is cheating many guys.

I stay in houston. I used IBSN and i also recommended then to my friends. But they took my money and never gave me the service at the right time. I missed my tax filing deadline and I made at least 10 to 20 calls every day and sent mails after mails to get then to respond. They finally responded. They are not professional. They cannot be trusted. The same was the case with my friend also. He had to make several calls and mails to get these guys to response. Please do not use their service.

My list of complaints

1> Lack of knowledge on capital gains. The differnce in the amounts IBSN found and I have is not a few 10 or 100$ its a couple fo 1000$.
I fail to understand how can such a big error be?

I found the differnce and notified the person who was handling my capital gains (Naresh @ IBSN). I walked him though the excel sheet he sent and pointed the error
to him. He said it was a mistake. he will review it and fix it.

Next after a few days, I was contacted with updated summa
ry. I got new numbers and again incorrect, I know these figures were not right because, I have been personally computing capital gains and tracking it for past many years
I was told they will review it again and make sure it is done by a senior tax person (forgot the name) to ensure everthing is right

A couple of days back, i was given a revised summart, the third time and guess what again wrong numbers. Today I was transferred to person (Priyanka) who said she was the one who reviewed by capital gains

After she confirmed, she reviewed, I asked her what if I could still find errors. Her response was 'You have so manb
y transactions, there could be errors.

I was so curious to find why they cant do the basic transaction calculataions that i told her, I will walk her through the transactions to find the error

I had a few short transactions(sell - buy) and Priyanka didnt knew what it was. When I asked her, the response was - a short transaction is one whivh you brought and sold same month. Give me a break... I wdidnt expect this from a person who was preparing my capital gains.

I spenr good 45 minutes with her on call, and i found that the cost basis was also not computed correctly..

I had a buy transaction of a stcok X 100 UNITS on 9/31 FOR 1000 and another 50 UNITS ON 10/2 for 400. and a sell of 150 the same day. The cost basis should be avergae of my price and if partially sold FIFO should be used. These are basics in computing capital gains

I mentioned can i speak with senior, I was told to send the excel which I had maintained. Tell me why shouldI pay IBSN if i had to sent the details myself. I told her I challenge that the Reverse split, Cost basis, short transaction... thses are basic things and I would certinaly expect the person working on my gains to be conginzant of thses


These are just related to capital gains . there are others as well. I read somewhere IBSN plans to be 1200 people strong in next couple of years...for me qulaity matters not quantity.

This is certainly not what I expected from IBSN. I can give my file number and evidence of whatever I had mentioned before. I work for a reputed IT company and I am not intrested nor am here to defame anyone/IBSN. I just hope someone knowledgble looks into my file and get the correct numbers.
