Hi,
I had filed my taxes through IBSN for the previous financial year. On the tax evaluation summary sheet, they had given me 2 options with different service charge for each. Initially I thought I will go with the option 1 and hence selected the same and also paid the service charge of 400 odd dollars that was designated for that particular option. On digging up further on the details of option1 from my friends who have been in the US for long time I realized that the option might not be the most feasible one for folks who are in the US for short term. Before my taxes were filed, I talked to the IBSN person and passed him my final decision that I would like to go with the option2 . My taxes were finally filed with option2 and I got the returns in accordance with option2 . Option2 was carrying a designated service charge of 100 dollars odd, which meant I had effectively overpaid 300 dollars.
The transaction mentioned in the above paragraph can be dated back to early days of March and I have been waiting ever since to get back my money( 400-1000. I have sent them repeated reminders and had the fortune of getting a reply with a revised due date for close to 4-5 months. The latest revised date was 8th October, in this iteration they have stopped responding to message and currently in a no response mode. I guess the hope this time is people might give up after repeated misery.
I would strongly recommend that anyone filing the taxes are better of doing the same through turbo tax, the manual one-time effort is better than these iterative pain of 6-7 months. I have learned my lesson in a hard way and hope this message benefits numerous others who are to file their taxes using this unprofessional company. Also please do let me know how to take these up legally without having to get into repeated tangles.
Thanks
