Anonymous calls
I received an anonymous call, with no one responding when I answered (I believe more than once), so I used *69 to get the phone number. IC Systems answered when I called back. Because I refused to identify myself to someone who had called anonymously, they refused to answer my questions abou their purpose, and refused to remove me from their call list.

I feel no responsibility to answer anyone's questions until I know what is going on. I resent calls where the calling party vanishes from the line.

Harrassing phone calls
This company calls every day, five or six times a day, beginning at 8:15am or so, and continuing until 9:00pm at night. I have requested numerous times that they discontinue all calls and all further contact be done by mail. I have sent mail to this effect. Now I just do not answer the phone and my next step is to have my telephone number changed and have it unlisted.
They truly aren't interested in resolving any issues. Their only interest is in harassment.

Wrong Number/Continue to Call
This company began calling my home on July 12, 2008. The second time their ID showed up, I decided to answer it even though I had no idea who they were or what they wanted. Since my son is on the road a lot, I felt I should answer it in case there was an emergency of some sort. I said, "Hello ... hello" (automated call). This woman comes on and asks for "Mary". I said you have the wrong number. She said, "You're not Mary?" No, I am not Mary. She asked me to verify my phone number by saying it out loud so it could be recorded, then it would be deleted from the system. Well I did, and guess what? They didn't delete it from the system. In one week they had called more than 21 times. They called again while I was at home and I answered it again. Voice on the other line sounded much like the first lady. Since my conscience bothered me after the first call, I sweetly told her again there was no Mary at that number and I hung up. Called again yesterday. This time it's a guy on the line. He asks for "Mary" and I say you have the wrong number for the third time. He asks me to verify my number out loud. I say "no." You have the number in your database so I don't see a need for that. He is screaming at me telling me YOU HAVE TO REPEAT THE NUMBER but I hang up. Does this qualify for harassment? My next step is filing a complaint against this company with the FTC. If they continue my next call will be to the local prosecuting attorney to find out what actions I should take.

Agents continue to call both my home and work phone several times a day even after I have let them know I cannot receive these calls at work.

Rude, erroneous and/or conflicting information
I contacted my credit card company and was told that the account had been sold to IC Systems, Inc. for collections.

I called IC Systems the first time, and all seemed to go well. I was put on a payment plan.

Then when the first payment came and was supposed to be deducted from my checking account, it wasn't on the day they said it was supposed to be. Finally, 3 days later, they deducted it. Then 3 days after that they called me demanding the payment. I called them back and after speaking with them, they at first claimed that I was not on a payment plan an d wanted to knwo when I would pay. I asked to speak with a supervisor, and after speaking with him it appeared that the account payment plan had been revoked for non-payment on the day it was supposed to be paid. I told them then that the money had been in my checking account and was there now but they had not deducted it from my checking account. The supervisor checked some more and came back and told me that it was fixed and the payment plan put back in place. He said he had found the payment.

Flash forward to one month later and I now have gotten a letter from them (note I still have not received a paper copy of the payment plan put in effect). The letter stated, that due to non payment, they were now demanding payment. I reiterated at that point, that I had already called once about being put on a payment and what had happened last month. Again, I asked to speak with a supervisor and when she came on, her name was Lisa, she told me just to ignore the letter but the payment plan was still in effect.

I tried to tell Lisa that it's very confusing and frustrating to get this type of letter after having set up a payment plan with the company but her only remark to tell me that I wouldn't be getting this letter if the bill had actually been paid in full.

This company refuses to send me a paper copy of the payment plan for my documentation and in fact told me to call my original credit card company for this instead.

These people are rude and very very inconsistent with their information over the phone and via mail.

Lie to your face!
My husband had a credit card that was past due. After he passed away, I was attempting to resolve all of his and my outstanding debts. When I called the credit card bank, I was told that this account was already placed into collections with IC Systems and they gave me their phone number to call. My first contact with ICS went very smoothly. I talked to an account manager named Jeff and he gave me a settlement amount to pay which was a around a hundred dollars less than the outstanding balance. I had not received a notice in the mail yet from IC systems, so I sent the payment directly to the credit card company. I called IC Systems back and they confirmed that the payment had been received and the balance was paid in full. I asked for a confirmation letter, and they agreed to send one.

A few days later, I received the first "bill" from IC Systems. It was for the full amount. I called them back and was told that there was no documentation of any settlement on this account. That I had made the payment to the credit card company, so therefore I MUST have made the settlement with them. She was very rude and kept talking over me, threatening to hang up on me, etc. She said I would have to fax a letter from the credit card company saying THEY accepted the settlement agreement amount.

I looked again at my notes from the first phone call and noticed that I had indeed called IC Systems for the settlement. When I made first contact with the credit card company, they told me that they had turned this over for collection and gave me their number to call to make arrangements.

I called IC Systems back again, they still refuse to acknowledge that I paid the settlement amount, said there was NEVER a settlement amount.

I called IC Systems again the next day, and the Account Manager happened to answer the phone, and he VERIFIED to me over the phone that yes, he saw that it was a settlement, and yes it was paid in full. When I asked for a letter of verification he put me on hold.

Then the collection manager picked up I told Megan that I had been talking with Jeff and she denied that Jeff EVER told me those things on the phone. It is just a headache and a run around and they lie to your face and it is so frustrating!
