IC Systems Reviews

Rude & Unbending
On July 5th, I had emergency surgery. That same day, while coming out of anesthesia, I made the mistake of making my house payment, but unfortunately to the wrong account. I used my banks bill pay option, and the account I erroneously selected was an account of my husbands, to which my name is not attached. When I contacted my bank, I asked if there was anything I could do. I was referred to the credit card company, and it referred me to a collection agency - IC Systems. I have tried to explain my situation - I was drowsy from medications and only wanted part of my payment back so I could make my house payment. My husband did not know he had been sent to collections by the credit card agency because it still kept billing us. Trisha - the CSR passed me on to her supervisor Mason, who within 30 seconds said, "There is nothing we can do". I then asked to speak to his supervisor Tim. I have left Tim several voice mail messages, to which I have not received any response. I just called again today 7/18/11 - only to get transferred to Mason, again! And again he said that there was nothing IC Systems would do. According to Federal law, I asked them to never contact my husband again and to consider the account paid in full. I will also send a letter in writing, certified mail, so when my husband is contacted again, we can sue for $1, 000 (each time). I have never worked with such horrible people before. John Erickson, president and CEO and Barb Erickson, Chairman of the Board, should be embarrassed at the horrific quality of employees they have.

wrong number
Keep calling my home number looking for someone else. The person they are looking for has the same last name as mine but not same first name. The only person who has my number is the phone company, adt and myself. Have not have number long enough for anyone else to have. I feel like this is harrasment. And they are not calling for the people who sold me the house. With that knowledge why are they calling my home several times.

LETTERS
I called Ic systems debt collection agency and paid off a medical bill for my youngest daughter and when i asked the lady i was speaking to on the phone if i had anything else in there system for me or my children she had told me that i have another bill for $50.00 and when I asked her if she could send me a letter so I could mail back a payment or call in the payment she told me that i would have to request a letter because they sent out a letter to me back in 2008 and I remember when i got the letter they put the letter to my daugher and when the called they called for her my daughter is now 4 years old. My husband and I told them that if they could send out a correct letter addressed to us or to the parents of my daughters name then we would pay it. She told me that we would have to request another letter and when i told her that we have since moved from the address that the last letter that was sent to there office in 2008 she refused to send one out is there anything that I can do to make sure that this does not effect my daughters credit, and is it even legal to put a collection letter addessed to someone under the age of 18 years of age. Also i though that collections have to send out another letter if you ask them to another address. I am just glad that they stoped calling me for now.

never use them if you are a company
We used IC Systems to help us collect outstanding dept. and the people were rude and obnoxious to our customers. We were told one thing and they delivered another or did not deliver at all. Their systems are antiquated and they lied to our customers. In dealing with customers who don't pay their bills you are beter off working with them then turning them over to a collection agency. It is a short term gain that has long term ramifications. I would never use them again and would suggest to other companies to steer clear.

Rude, belitting
In the numerous dealings I have had with IC Systems Collections I have been belittled, told to do what I was told, told that if I paid my bills then I wouldn't be having these problems, been hung up on when trying to give information. I have asked for a statement and was told they don't mail any out and I recieved the first letter so should have been smart enough to keep it for the address and that for me to get a pen and paper and they would give it to me again and not to lose it this time. I tryed to make payment on their website and called the next two days to verify that they got the payment and was told they had. Then a month later was told they never got the payment because I didn't know how to enter the correct information. One person told me that I entered a closed account and the next told me it was returned NSF. When I tryed to look it up at my bank the person from IC System told me that they new it was not paid because they said so and hung up on me. Rude people in a low budget operation. Companies beware!

Harrassing phone calls
This collection company started harrassing me when another scam company (imagine that), Heartland Inc, also mentioned on the Complaints Board, failed at extorting money out of me for magazine subscriptions that I didn't order through them.

possible ID theft scam
Sometime in March I received a phone call from Bay Area Credit Service, LLC, located in Antioch CA, 94509. I was told that I owed AT&T $158, and asked if I still lived at( some address) in Overland Park, Kansas. Now I know where Overland Park is, but I have never lived there. I explained all this but the only response I got was that I owed this money and that in order to contest it I would have to provide a lot of identifying information. I requested something in writing, and the man kept asking for more identification data. At this point I told him to send me something in writing.
Several weeks later I received a packet consisting primarily of demands for more information, including SSN, passport number, driver's license number, etc. After a brief conversation with a friend of mine who is a lawyer here in Virginia, who told me that this could be an ID theft scam, I decided that I would provide some information, such as utility bills, but not financial data.
I was working on that, but got distracted by the demands of my new job and didn't finish it. On June 12 I got a phone call from IC Systems, saying that I now owed about $1800, and the man (Justin) suggested I might want to pay part now and set up a payment scheme for the remainder. I told him I am not going to pay a bill that is not legally mine. He also said I had given the previous caller (Bay Area Credit Service, I assume) a false phone number (which is a blatant lie), which was the reason for them not contacting me sooner. Then he hung up on me, after threatening to inform various credit rating companies.
I called back at the number he had given me and spoke with a woman who basically reiterated what Justin had told me, and was not interested in telling me anything other than I owed the money and they were going to collect it (she didn't say how), and inform the credit rating people. She also said "My company is a highly reputable firm" before she hung up.
A search of the BBB in St Paul, using IC Systems, did not return any information for that company. I found a web site using Bing, and found roughly 20 strongly worded complaints about the way they do business.

A BBB search for Bay Area Credit Service, LLC, zip code 94509 resulted in a “no results” message, as did a search for the same firm in California.

Does anyone have any ideas about how to get these people to admit they're wrong, and stop the harassment?

Unwarrented calls
Receiving calls for whomever had this number before. IC won't answer the phone when you call back. How do I get them straightened out?? Don't know who they want because they hang up when I answer. Are they strictly a collections ageceny? If they are interested in collecting a debt why don't they stay on the line? My phone is tracfone so I have no one to call to find out who they previous owner of this number is. Would appreciate any suggestions someone may have to keep these folks from wasting my minutes since the phone uses time for these calls.

Sent false billing
IC Systems Inc sent me a billing for my home Verizon account with a balance due of $69.43 - I checked my online account and saw that (as ususal) I still maintain a credit as I overpaid. The company (ICS) did not identify what the charges were for. I contacted Verizon - I have never owed $69.43. This smells of a scam for minor billings being sent out in mass. I suggest that if you get any billing from ICS you receive verification from whom they are collecting for. Additionally, if you are receiving harassing calls before 8AM or after 9PM that you read the Rosenthal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act - you can review this and other information at www.ftc.gov - good luck.

Class action lawsuit
Let's get together and sue IC Systems into oblivion. I'll be posting an email address dedicated to this cause soon. Also, I encourage those of you wrongfully harrassed by this demonic, evil company to notify the SEC, the Securities and Exchange Commission. They are the branch of the government responsible for enforcing the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Google the FDCPA and you should be able to find an online copy of it pretty easily. Remember you have rights. You did not sign a financial contract with a debt collection agency. Empower yourself with knowledge and don't let these scum bags bully you. You are a human being and deserve to be treated with respect.
