NISSAN ALTIMA 2002 HEAD GASKET, VALVE GASKET, AND INTAKE GASKET REPAIR AT ICE COLD AIR. AFTER HAVING NISSAN HOOK IT UP TO THEIR DIAGONOSTIC MACHINE TELLING US WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE CAR ON 6/12/10. CAR WAS RUNNING WEIRD WHEN YOU STARTED THE CAR BUT AFTER IT WARMED UP IT DID NOT DO IT ANY MORE, EXCEPT WHEN THE AIR WAS ON AND SITTING AT A STOP SIGN. WE JUST PUT IT IN Nutral AND IT WAS FINE.

6/16/10 DROPPED OFF CAR TO ICE COLD AIR AFTER TALKING TO HIM ON THE PHONE 6/14/10 TELLING ME HE COULD DO MY HEAD GASKETS, VALVE GASKETS AND INTAKE GASKETS FOR 450.00 SINCE I HAD BOUGHT THE PARTS FROM NISSAN. HE TOLD ME THE CAR WOULD TAKE TWO DAYS AT THE MOST.

6/17/10 DROVE BY ICE COLD AIR AND THE CAR WAS STILL IN THE SAME PLACE I PARKED IT.

6/18/10 CALLED PAUL TO SEE HOW THE CAR WAS DOING AND THEY SAID IT SHOULD BE DONE SATURDAY LATE AFTERNOON. HE SAID HE HAD PROBLEMS WITH ANOTHER CAR THAT HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE WHEELCHAIR ACCESS.

6/19/10 MIKE WENT TO ICE COLD AIR TO CHECK ON IT AND PAUL SAID IT WOULD NOW BE MONDAY BUT THE GOOD THING WAS IT DID NOT NEED TO GO TO THE HEAD SHOP. BUT IT WOULD BE DONE FOR SURE MONDAY MORNING. MIKE TOLD HIM WE HAD TO HAVE IT BACK BECAUSE I HAD AN INTERVIEW AT 1:00PM MONDAY AND HE SAID IT WOULD BE DONE.

6/21/10 I CALLED PAUL AND ASK IF I COULD COME GET THE CAR AND HE SAID THAT THEY BROKE THE TORCH WRENCH AND THEY COULD NOT GET ONE TIL TUESDAY MORNING FROM THE DEALER, BUT NO MATTER WHAT THE CAR WOULD BE DONE TUESDAY AFTERNOON BECAUSE ALL THEY HAD TO DO IS PUT IT BACK TOGETHER. I TOLD THEM I HAD TO HAVE IT BECAUSE I HAD TO RE-SCHEDULE MY INTERVIEW SINCE I HAD NO CAR ON MONDAY. THEY SAID ALL WE HAVE TO DO IS RUN THE CAR FOR AN HOUR TO MAKE SURE NO LEAKS OR ANYTHING. I TOLD HIM THERE WAS NO GAS TO RUN THE CAR FOR AN HOUR BECAUSE THE GAS LIGHT JUST CAME ON WHEN I DROPPED THE CAR OFF TO THEM.

6/23/10 CALLED AND PAUL SAID IT WONT BE READY TIL LATE WEDNESDAY OR 1ST THING THURSDAY BUT SAID FOR US TO RENT A CAR AND THEY WOULD REIMBURSE US AND TAKE IT OFF THE BILL. THEY TOLD MIKE THAT THEY THINK THE TIMING CHAIN WAS STRETCHED BECAUSE IT JUMPED AND IT WAS THEIR FAULT.

6/24/10 PAUL CALLED MIKE AND SAID THEY HAVE NO CLUE WHAT IS THE PROBLEM BUT THE CAR IS NOT HOLDING COMPRESSION AND PAUL SAID THE BOOK SAID THE TIMING CHAIN SHUOLD BE CHANGED EVERYTIME YOU CHANGE THE GASKETS. WE CALLED NISSAN AND THEY SAID THAT WAS A LIE. THAT THEY COULD NOT HAVE PUT THE CAR BACK TOGETHER CORRECTLY OR THEY BROKE THE TIMING CHAIN OR STRETCHED IT AND IT WOULD NEVER GO BACK TOGETHER CORRECTLY. NISSAN SAID THE TIMING BELT WAS FINE WHEN IT WAS THERE ON 6/12/10 GETTING THE DIAGNOSTIC TEST DONE. THE ONLY THING WAS THE 4TH CYLINDER IS NOT GETTING ENOUGH COMPRESSION BUT IT LOOKS LIKE IT JUST HAPPENED BECAUSE THERE WAS NO WATER IN THE OIL, ETC… WHEN I CALLED ICE COLD AIR ON MONDAY 6/14/10 PAUL TOLD ME THERE WOULD BE NO PROBLEMS DOING THE HEAD GASKETS AND OTHER GASKETS THAT THEY HAVE DONE TONS OF THEM AND IT WOULD TAKE TWO DAYS AT THE MOST. THE LABOR STATES ON THEIR WEB SITE 45.00 AN HOUR AND IT SHOULD TAKE 7.5 HOURS BUT THEY GAVE US A WRITTEN EST. OF $45.00 AN HOUR AND IT WOULD TAKE 10 HOURS. WE WERE FINE WITH THAT, THE MAIN REASON I TOOK IT THERE IS BECAUSE PAUL SAID THEY HAVE DONE THESE BEFORE AND IT WOULD TAKE TWO DAYS AND THE OTHER SHOP I CALLED THEY SAID THEY WOULD NEED IT FOR A WEEK AND I COULD NOT GO WITHOUT A CAR THAT LONG. NOW IT HAS BEEN THERE 10 DAYS AND STILL NOT RUNNING. I BOUGHT NISSAN PARTS AND I WANT NISSAN PARTS PUT BACK ON MY CAR. WHEN WE STOPPED BY THERE, THERE WERE 2 GASKETS THAT I BOUGHT FROM NISSAN AND THEY WERE SITTING IN MY CAR AND I ASKED THE MECHANIC WHY THEY WERE NOT PUT IN THE CAR AND HE SAID I DON’T KNOW. MIKE THE MECHANIC SAID THEY ARE ALL LIARS IN THIS ICE COLD AIR.

6/28/10 WAITED ALL DAY FOR A CALL FROM PAUL LIKE HE SAID HE WOULD DO AND NOTHING.

6/29/10 MIKE CALLED PAUL AND PAUL SAID EVERYTHING WAS GREAT AND CAR WOULD BE READY BY NOON AND NO LATER THAN 7/1/10 BY 10: AM AND LET US KNOW STATUS. WE WAITED TIL 10:15 AM AND PAUL NEVER CALLED LIKE NORMAL SO WE CALLED HIM AND HE SAID HE WAS BUSY BUT WOULD CALL RIGHT BACK AFTER TALKING TO THE MECHANIC. I CALLED AT 11:15AM AND SAID I AM STILL WAITING ON MY HUSBANDS RETURN CALL LIKE YOU SAID AND HE LAUGHED AND SAID HE HAD 2 PEOPLE IN LINE. BUT THE CAR WOULD BE READY AT NOON. PAUL CALLED AT 11:30 AND SAID NOW IT WON’T BE READY TIL 1:000 OR 1:30PM THEN HE CALLED AND SAID IT WONT BE READY TIL 3:0PM. WE DROVE UP THERE AND BROUGHT 5 GALLONS OF GAS BECAUSE THERE WAS NO GAS AND HE SAID HE HAD TO RUN IT FOR 1 HOUR TO MAKE SURE NO LEAKS. MIKE TALKED TO THE MECHANIC NAMED MIKE AND HE TOLD US HE WAS DOING A TIMING CHAIN JOB ON THE CAR AND THAT IS NOT WHAT THE CAR WAS THERE FOR AND HE WAS SURPRISED. HE ALSO SAID THE BOOK LIED ON HOW MANY HOURS IT WOULD TAKE. I SAID YOU ARE NOT DOING THE TIME CHAIN YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE DOING VALVE COVER, INTAKE COVER AND HEAD GASKET. HE SAID I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THAT AND HE SAW THE HEAD GASKET ON THE FLOOR AND SAID WELL IT LOOKS FINE SO I DON’T KNOW WHY THEY WOULD DO THAT. I TOLD HIM THE 4TH CYLINDER WAS NOT GETTING ENOUGH PRESSURE AND THAT IS THE WHOLE REASON THE CAR IS HERE PLUS THE OTHER TWO GASKETS. HE SAID THE CAR CAN BE PICKET UP AT 4PM. WE WAITING AND NEVER HEARD BACK AND LEFT TWO MESSAGES ABOUT WHEN WE COULD PICK IT UP.

7/2/10 WENT TO PICK UP CAR AND PAID FOR CAR. PAUL TOLD HIM IT HAD A 112 MONTH WARRANTY AND THE PAPER WORK ONLY STATES 90 DAYS. WE GOT THE CAR HOME AND WHEN WE WENT TO DRIVE THE CAR THE DRIVE WAY HAD A WHOLD BUNCH OF OIL ALL OVER IT AND IT NEVER DID IT BEFORE. MIKE DECIDED TO LOOK UNDER THE HOOD AND SAW THAT THERE WAS A RAG STUCK IN SURPINTINE BELT AND A WIRE JUST HANGING THERE. IF MIKE DID NOT LOOK UNDER HOOD THE SURPINTINE BELT WOULD HAVE BROKE THE BELT AND HE WOULD HAVE BEEN STUCK. HE CALLED PAUL AND PAUL SAID DROP IT OFF IN MORNING.

7/3/10- HE DROVE THE CAR RIGHT BACK TO ICE COLD AIR AND TOLD THEM TO FIX IT. PAUL DROVE MIKE HOME. PAUL CALLED SAID CAR WAS DONE AND MIKE TOLD HIM I AM DRIVING IT STRAIGHT TO NISSAN AND HAVING THEM CHECK ALL YOUR WORK AND ALL OF A SUDDEN PAUL SAID IT IS A 2002 CAR SO YOU WILL SEE A POWER STEARING LEAK BECAUSE IT IS OLD.(WHICH AGAIN WAS A LIE) WHEN NISSAN SPENT 2 ½ HOURS LOOKING OVER EVERYTHING FOR US THEY TOLD US THAT ICE COLD AIR BROKE OUR TIMING CHAIN COVER IN TWO PLACES AND TRIED TO JB WELD IT BACK TOGETHER AND THE POWER STEARING LEAK WAS CAUSED BY THEM CROSS THREADING THE BOLT UNDER THE POWER STEARING PUMP AND THEY BROKE THE MOTOR MOUNTS ON THE CAR WHEN THEY TOOK EVERYTHING OUT TO FIX IT. I ALSO SAW TWO OF THE GASKETS THAT I BOUGHT STILL IN THE BAG SO I KNOW THEY WERE NOT REPLACED BECAUSE I HAVE THEM AND PAUL TRIED TO LIE AGAIN AND SAID HE BOUGHT THEM AT THE DEALER WHICH I CALLED TO VERIFYAND THEY SAID THAT HE DID NOT. PAUL STARTED TO GET A LITTLE PISSED OFF AND SAID “WHAT DO YOU EXPECT US TO DO FIX EVERYTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR” MIKE TOLD HIM NO JUST THE STUFF YOU BROKE AND QUIT LIEING TO US. WHEN I ORIGINALLY TOOK THE CAR TO NISSAN I ASKED HIM ABOUT OUR MOTOR MOUNTS AND HE SAID THEY ARE A LITTLE WORN BUT AS LONG AS YOU DON’T START JUMPING BIG HILS OR SPEED BUMPS YOUR MOTOR MOUNTS OUR FINE. THE ONLY REASON I ASKED NISSAN ABOUT THAT IS MY NEPHEW HAS THE SAME CAR AND HIS OUR BAD, SO I WROTE ON THE BILL THAT ONE DAY WE WILL HAVE TO REPLACE THEM BUT NO HURRY TO DO IT BECAUSE OURS IS FINE. ACCORDING TO NISSAN THE WERE SPLIT NOT BROKE MEANING WHEN THEY TOOK THE CAR APART THE KNIFE SPLICED IT.

7/7/10- PICKED UP CAR FROM ICE COLD AIR AND DROVE IT TO NISSAN 5 BLOCKS AWAY AND THEY LOOKED AT CAR FOR 2 ½ HOURS AND THEY TOLD US EVERYTHING THEY DID WRONG. MIKE DROVE IT BACK TO ICE COLD AIR AND Paul SAID DROP IT OFF IN MORNING.

7/8/10 DROVE CAR BACK TO ICE COLD AIR TO FIX PROBLEMS.

7/13/10- PICKED UP CAR AND STILL RUNNING LIKE CRAP AND SHAKES JUST LIKE WHEN WE BROUGHT IT IN THE FIRST TIME.

7/14/10 DROVE THE CAR FOR THE FIRST TIME FOR 20 MILES TO SEE HOW IT RUNS. THE OIL LIGHT WILL NOT GO OFF. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WON’T GO OFF. NOW THE TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING WHICH NEVER EVER DID BEFORE IT WENT INTO THAT SHOP. I AM SO MAD THAT THE CAR WAS THERE JUST TO FIX THE HEAD GASKETS, INTAKE GASKETS, AND VALVE GASKETS, WHICH I KNOW WAS NOT DONE CORRECTLY BECAUSE THE HEADS WERE NEVER RESURFACED LIKE THE MACHINE SHOPS TELL ME THAT YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO RESURFACE THE HEADS OR YOU ARE ASKING FOR A WHOLE BUNCH OF NEW PROBLEMS WHICH NOW I AM. NOT ONLY DID I NOT HAVE THE CAR BACK IN TWO DAYS LIKE PROMISED IT IS LIKE I HAVE A TOTALLY DIFFERENT CAR. IT RUNS LIKE CRAP AND I FEEL THEY HAVE TOTALLY DESTROYED MY CAR. I DO NOT WANT THEM TOUCHING MY CAR AGAIN, THEY HAVE HAD THREE CHANCES TO FIX THE CAR AND WHEN I GOT HOME I LET IT SIT AFTER DRIVING IT FOR 20 MILES AND I HAVE OIL ALL OVER MY DRIVEWAY AGAIN WHICH THEY SAID THEY FIXED.

SERVICES WERE NOT RENDERED AND CAR STILL NOT FIXED SO I FEEL I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR THE WORK WHEN I HAVE 2 OF THE ORIGINAL GASKETS I BOUGHT FROM NiSSAN AND GAVE TO ICE COLD AIR TO REPLACE. HOW COULD THEY REPLACE THEM IF I HAVE THEM IN MY HAND? I AM DISPUTING THE CHARGE OF 514.11 AND WANT MY MONEY BACK.
