May 7th 2010:
I answered an email for an agent listing service job-training program to help me become a listing agent for other people’s online goods and services. I signed up for a one-time payment of $197.

May 10th 2010:
I received a call from sales representative Matt Nash at ICI Fortune Learning Systems. He told me that out of tens of thousands of people, I was selected to become part of a special program. He told me they were willing to help start a website for my husband and I that would earn us $10, 000 to $20, 000 per month. He said they would do this at “NO COST” to us. I asked what they get out of this, if it was free. He said they’d like to use us as a SUCCESS story in their advertising. He then set-up a phone meeting with his boss for our “approval”.

May 13th 2010:
My husband and I got call from Matt Nash and his boss Desmond. Desmond proceeds to tell us how they wanted to help us create a website at no cost to us that would make us money, etc. We again asked why they would do this for free, and he said to use us as a “SUCCESS” story in their advertising. He then asks us if we’re conservative: $12, 000, moderate: $14, 000 or aggressive: $16, 000, implying how much per month we could make. We replied aggressive. He eventually asks for our credit card, then left for a moment and when he came back, I asked him what he needed our card for. He said he just charged it $16, 000. We were in shock, but learned that we had 3 days to cancel if we wanted out.

May 15th 2010:
We decided this was not for us and needed to cancel. I called numerous times, but nobody answered. I left a message that we wanted to cancel, and sent an email to them expressing the same. There was no fax number for us to send a fax either.

May 17th 2010:
I called the customer service department again to confirm my cancellation. They give my info to their resolutions department and tell me someone will contact us. I later receive a call from a man named Kenyon from their resolutions department. I explain that we had canceled and he tells me it didn’t count and that our 3 days are up. I explained that we signed Thursday afternoon and that Saturday and Sunday were not business days and therefore should not count. I also explain that I tried canceling Saturday and nobody replied, but I left cancellation notices through voicemail and email. He says it needed to be in writing and that Saturday and Sunday counted in our 3-day cancellation period. We found it odd that we could sign a contract ONLINE, but they would only accept WRITTEN confirmation, within 3 days, to cancel.

May 21st 2010:
The past few days I persistently tried to call and email to get our money back and get out of our contract, but to no avail. I get a phone call from Kenyon. He explains that we will never see our money so we either work with them or “kiss it goodbye”. I tell him we will never work with them and we have contacted a lawyer and will expose them for what they have done. He tells me that they have a “suite of lawyers and we will never win”. He goes on to threaten me should I speak negatively about their company through online posts, etc. He tells me if I speak negatively about them they will “sue me for everything I have”.

Guess what Kenyon? We don’t have anything left. You took it all. So here’s a posting about your business practices.

Watch out for these people!
