Int'l Health Insurance - Never made the payment
My parents were visting from India and took ICICI Lombard as their travelling health insurance. They upfront disclosed their existing condition of High Blood Pressure and Diabetes, witha history of previous stroke.
Within a week of their visit, my father had a minor stroke and had to be taken to emergency. he was in ememrgency for 3 days and the hospital staff took great care of him. We were thankful that we had the insrance that covers visits to ER as it can be quiet expensive if you do not have insurance. This happened in April' 2010.
8 months have past since and despite repeated correspondence from the hostpital, us and our family, ICICI Lombard has not responded to any of our emails or invoices. We have US $28000.00 bill that we cannot pay from our pocket waiting to be cleared.
If anyone is even remotely thinking of getting ICICI policy for any reason, my strongest advice is please do not take it. You might as well flush your money down the toilet.

Not paying the Daily Allowance
Hi,
My name is Chetan Kaushal. I had icicilombard health care policy for
my mother 4034/FPP/03830452/00/000 which I renewed with policy
4034i/FPP/03830452/01/000.
When I took the policy i was told that during the hospitalization my
mother would get Rs 2000 as daily allowance. Even I inquired that
whatever might be the tenure of her hospitalization she would get Rs
2000 per day and the guy selling me the policy said “Yes”.
Last month I made a claim of Rs 5866 for my mother`s hospitalization
(From 23 july 2010 to 27 july 2010) on 22 July. As ICICI Lombard has
outsourced the verification process so
I was asked to courier the
originals to TTK healthcare people on 21 Aug through DTDC courier
service and they receive it on 25 Aug.TTK health care people approve
the amount of Rs 5866 but not ready to pay the daily allowance of Rs
2000 per day. According to them they have policy that hospitalization
should be more than 5 days n less than 7 days i.e. exactly 6 days
which is nearly impossible for any patient to be hospitalized for
exactly 6 days. So they are not ready to pay. They ask me to contact to
icicilombard for that.i spoke to ur customer care executive but none
is ready to take my proper feedback to it. They again ask me to talk to
TTK healthcare people. Kindly look into the matter as I think these people
are trying to save that amount of Rs 10000 which I should get as daily
allowance.

POOR SERVICE BY ICICI LOAMBARD OFFICIALS JALANDHAR OFFICE
I have insurance of my car Santro PB08 AM 3537 from ur company. Policy no 3001/50434109/02/000. <br />
<br />
This car is on my mother’s name, Smt Ravinder Kaur. On 16 Aug 09, both my parents were travelling in this car and they met with an accident in which my mother expired on the spot and father suffered multiple injuries. <br />
<br />
In this regard I registered for claim and my claim no is 01229672. Since then the attitude of the personnel of ICICI Lombard dealing with me has been extremely poor. Either they are highly incompetent or are trying to ignore us for whatever reason.<br />
<br />
I have been dealing with MR RAVINDER AND MR SP SINGH (BOTH IN ICICI LOMBARD JALANDHAR OFFICE Mob No 9915018505 and 9915018730 resp). Their attitude has been highly indifferent. After a long time and regular follow up, the company officials told us that it was a case of total loss of vehicle and they settled the amount of 1, 24500/-(to be paid to us).<br />

After repeated requests to Mr SP Singh and Mr Ravinder, I could get the documents required to be submitted by me in regard to this claim. I submitted those documents. After a couple of days, they again told that some additional documents were required. It seems as if they are just trying to delay the issue. I had to visit the ICICI Lombard office atleast 10 times. <br />

Finally after submitting all documents now they are telling to submit legal heir certificate. In lieu of this Mr SP Singh agreed that an affidavit attested by Executive Magistrate will do and legal heir certificate is not required. I got the affidavit made after lots of effort and when I submitted it, he told that it won’t do.<br />

This kind of attitude from such a well known company is disheartening. I requested Mr SP Singh to atleast give me in written and signed by him, the list of documents to be submitted by me, the latest status of my claim and copy of the case which he has forwarded to his higher office. But he is not ready to do the same and is even ignoring my phone calls. I need to dial him atleast 10 times to talk to him. I must say there is no transparency in the case and I have least idea of what is going on with regard to my claim.<br />

Having lost my mother in the accident, this is as such a tough time for me and this kind of indifferent attitude from the Insurance Company is putting me off. <br />
<br />
I am an officer in Indian Air Force and am posted at Bikaner. I have been specially taking leaves and coming to my hometown to settle this claim but everything seems to have gone in vain. I fail to understand how such a well known company is sustaining with such poor employees.<br />
<br />
There is a 180 degree difference in the attitude of these personnel from the time I took this insurance and now when I am claiming for my loss.

Fraud and cheating
I have a ICICI Lombard-General Insurance Health Policy. And I got a phone call from ICICI saying all my personal details, credit card number, date of birth which they got from my ICICI Lombard policy, saying "All the ICICI Lombard customers will be converted to ICICI Prudential, so you need to take a new policy from ICICI Prudential, and your previous policy will be discontinued". But after 3 months it doesn't happen. The money is still deducted from my credit card. I have contacted the ICICI Lombard people, they said that I am being misguided and no further action is taken.

Insurance medical check up not done yet - 24 hour online chat does it work before 9 a.m in the morning
Ok here is what it is has anyone tried their ICICI Lombard 24x7 online live chat, i have been trying. Sorry it doesnt work before 9 a.m IST (in this case Indian Standard Time). I bought my parents insurance online as i am overseas. Their toll free number says it is available only within India the rest of the people who they cheat can chat or send an email. Their default priority timing is 48 hours for response which never happens. After 28 hours u try contacting them they will say another 48 hours. Can we all try and delay payment of our loans and credit cards by a day no there will be charges from the bank.
Seriously guys dont lose ur money as i have lost. I paid Rs 39750 to these people but nothing happened apart from the money they have i am just worried about my parents. They are old and cant do much. Sigh.
I have reported ICICI Lombards lame and lazy excuse of not getting my parents insurance done as promised. As of this day they are without an insurance. ICICI Lombard do they know how it is to not have an insurance when aged.

Non issuance of policy
The money for my car insurance renewal was deducted by the company on June 3rd and till date I have not received my policy. Since July 1 I am calling the customer support and everytime get a promise that within next 24 hours I will get a soft copy mailed to me. I am feeling humiliated, frustrated and cheated by the service I am getting.
This is customer support at the nadir...

Terrible service
I hold 2 Health Insurance policies (Family Floater Plan) with ICICI Lombard - that is my misery. One was purchased in 2006 & renewed in 2007. Then I wanted my child to be included in the plan to which ICICI Lombard refused. Hence, I had to buy another plan in 2008 March (again Family Floater) covering myself & my daughter. My first plan i.e older one came up for renewal in 2008. Since I made no claims to ICICI Lombard for last 2 years I was entitled for No Claim Bonus. But the company instead hiked my premium. On query, they simply reply that we have increased the premium as you are an old customer & now more benefits would be coming to you. Hence you can go anywhere & if you do, you lose all your benefits which you are entitled to after 2 years of policy. So either renew by paying higher premium or just go off and lose your benefits. DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO NOW BUT ADVISE OTHER CONSUMERS NOT BE FALL IN THE SAME TRAP AS THEY WOULD KNOW ONLY AFTER 2 YEARS. BETTER NOT TO GO FOR ICICILOMBARD - ADVISE FROM A SUFFERING CONSUMER.
