On 29 May 2010 I brought my freightliner century to Nampa Idaho freightliner to check what is wrong with my engine and why “check engine light” periodically on.
The technician tell me EGR valve bad and this is the cause of it. He replaced EGR valve. And soon the engine start I told them nothing is changed. The engine makes same “bumming” noise and has exceeding vibration. The technician tells me they only fixed my CEL and first time hears about these things.
The charge for parts and labor was $1920.46.
4 dais later On 3 June 2010 I brought my truck to “freightliner of des Moines” to check why “check engine light” is still on after replacing EGR valve for $1920.46. The technician run codes and was the same reading as I brought to Nampa. The technician write on invoice: “The wiring for EGR valve is bad right at the clamp by the EGR valve, if you wiggle around it will code up and EGR wont work properly”.
I ask Mr. Todd Harmer, service manager, if he could call Nampa gays to reimburse this $1920.46 to fix real problem with my truck to replace EGR valve pigtail, turbo actuator and Air intake Charger it is about $914.16 for parts and 7.8 hours labor.
Mr. Todd Harmer calls them up and told me they will only reimburse me pigtail for $199.50. And they did.
It is obvious the technicians replace the good part and I shouldn’t pay for it.
