This IHOP is very bad for not only the customers but even worse for the staff. Night management yells at servers in between the front doors of the restaurant. Welcome to IHOP to watch our disgusting display of public humiliation before you are fully in the building. The manager is very short-tempered and downright rude to the staff. Cooks threaten and scream at waitstaff in front of management, yet no action is taken to stop the scene in front of customers. Night management doesn't even know the menu, and very loudly in front of customers has actually asked a member of waitstaff if the never-ending pancake special comes with pancakes. Servers are punished for calling the district manager and the cooperate office when their checks are: 1. Not right for their hours; 2. Not right for tips reported; 3. Not the correct amount. False write-ups are made to fire people they don't like or people managers are threatened by. Management even writes up employees for doing things management tells them to do. For example: management tells servers not to allow people over the age of 12 to order from the kids menu, then when the server doesn't let a 35 year old woman order off the kids menu the server gets wrote up. Management also tells servers not to charge VIPs for or police officers for their drinks, then when the server doesn't charge for those drinks the server then gets wrote up yet again. Management makes up a lie that the server swore and said things that were never said yet again writes the server up and suspends the server. The server then asks to see the tape of this happening and suddenly the manager claims there is no sound on the tape which is another lie. Then the same manger that claims there's no sound on video tape claims that it was heard on video tape that the server told a customer her phone number and was discussing IHOP personal business with a customer. In actuality the server simply said to a personal friend, "hey give me a call I want to talk to you about something later because I can't right now." All the server wanted to discuss was going to the club they work at with a mutual friend of theirs to cheer him up in hard times. In return, the general manager has fired a cook that was there for years and actually told members of waitstaff it was because that cook knew more then he did. After working in different IHOPs in the state of Oklahoma for over 5 years as not only a server, shift leader, crew chief, manager on duty, and a manager for many years my employment has come to an end due to a managers lies. Time and again is has come up that this manager feels threatened because either I or someone else knew how to do our jobs as well as management's jobs.
I am not writing this as any form of attempt to "save" myself or even my job, but rather to warn people of what is truthfully going on in this store. Maybe this might stop a few people who don't deserve this fate which I have been talking about in this complaint. I would gladly have even included my name for all those who I have either served or worked with who know that I "do not" lie, as well as for all of those IHOP supervisors that are fully aware of my work ethics. However, I am unable to give out this information due to fear of legal actions for "disclosing company policy." If they are suing "The International House of Prayer" which is a church, why wouldn't they sue me?

My friends and I went to Ihop for breakfast one morning, we got our food and halfway through the meal my friend finds egg shells in their eggs benedict, and they put the egg shells on the side of the plate to show the waitress. We tell the waitress, she just said "Oh, that should have not happened, let me take it to show the manager." So we sat their for about fifteen minutes, she past our table a couple of times. I was saying to my friend we need to speak to a manager right away because we had to get going, a worker there over heard me and asked what is the problem. So we explained the situation and the worker said in a annoyed tone, "Ok, what do you want me to do about it?" So we said a good discount or a free meal politely, then he told us to hold on, the worker was pretty rude to us.

We finally had to grab the waitress's attention and she told us she doesn't know what the manager wanted to do then she walked away to get the manager. The manger approaches us then and says, "There is no way the egg shells could have been in there, we poach our eggs." Ok so we thought well there are bits of eggshell in there some how, and that's it! So we ask where the plate was and the waitress has already thrown it away.

So we said nicely can we get a refund? And they give us a 20% discount? On a 13.00 dollar meal that came with eggshells in the eggs? My friend was very ticked off! The service there was not pleasant, I must say they need to work on customer satisfaction a little more. One restaurant we went to before there was a little green fly on my french fry and they apologized and gave us free fries! So in the end, we came hungry, left unhappy.

I asked for never ending pancakes with apples and whipcream. I didn't find out until I got them that I would be charged a dollar for the toppings. Not only that but I would have to pay another dollar each time I asked for more pancakes. Didn't get anymore pancakes. I wish I had just ordered the special pancakes for 1 more dollar than the never ending pancake. I would have got 4 pancakes and no extra charge. I really loved IHOP and now I am really turned off. I did let them know about it and he looked at me like well that's the way it is. The serves was slow and the new guy didn't know what to do. I assume he is new anyway.

I am making a complaint about the ihop in pigeon forge, tn. I went to this ihop, and informed the waitress first thing that I am a vegetarian, and inquired about their marinara sauce. I showed the waitress that the description shows no meat listed, but I asked her to double check with the kitchen to make sure. She came back to advise me that there is no meat in the sauce. Well, when I started to eat my meal, I noticed chunks of MEAT in the sauce. I asked her to please take the plate away because there is indeed meat in the sauce. I ate one bite of my meal. I expected to not have to pay for this since I was lied to by the kitchen staff that the sauce had no meat, and also by the menu description which has no mention of meat. The staff was well aware that I am a vegetarian. Well, I got the bill, and was advised to speak to the manager.
The manager stood very firm that I would be paying for the meal that I did not eat. He said that he will be gracious enough to take 10% off of the meal. I was so upset by this time I was in tears, and told him that my being a vegetarian is my religious right, and I did not want to pay for this meal that I could not eat. He absolutely REFUSED, and forced me to pay for it. I guess I should have been just as rude right back, and just walk off, which I wish I had've. From the way this total unprofessional jerk was acting, though, he would've probably called the police.
This was absolutely deliberate. The staff knew well before I got my food that I am a vegetarian, and served me meat sauce anyhow, and the manager forced me to pay for food that I did not eat, and I had to go get food after I left there.
IF YOU ARE A VEGETARIAN DO NOT GO TO THE IHOP IN PIGEON FORGE, THEY WILL KNOWINGLY SERVE YOU MEAT THAT YOU CANNOT EAT AND FORCE TO PAY. I HAVE NOT GOTTEN ANY RESOLUTION AT ALL FROM IHOP AND I WILL NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN.
Btw, ihop, I have told all my friends and family about the way you have acted, and they refuse to go to ihop anymore. You probably don't care at all, but if you treat enough people this way, soon you will be out of business, jerks.

My family and I went to eat @ ihop. Most of everything was okay up untill u smell cigarret smoke coming out what seemed maybe the office. I guess the managers smoke there. That's not right and specially for customers that don't like to smell that. Service isint so great. Managers are rude & they smoke inside the restaurant. I won't be going back there again. No way. Its smells liek cigarret. Its a franchise ihop, they claim they can set their own rules. That's something that I think requeres corporation attention
