False advertisement, rude workers, accusing us of stealing!
My family stayed for a week at the Fort Lauderdale Hotel in order to attend my aunts wedding (we're from California). When we first got there, we had to wait about an hour and a half for them to clear up a "problem" where they claimed we said we were only bringing two people to the hotel, but there was 6 of us actually trying to book a room. That was one of the problems. Their staff was very rude to us and gave us weird looks EVERY TIME we went to use their pool and outside deck. They treated us "below" them because they thought we were dumb just because we're from Cali. They only provided my family with two "complimentary" breakfast tickets EVEN THOUGH we paid for 4 other tickets as well. So the rest of us had to go out and look for a cheap McDonald's about a MILE away from the hotel as it was NOT within walking distance of ANY restaurants or fast food establishments. Later that night, we ordered pizza from a pizza place. This complaint isn't about the hotel itself, but the delivery boy who came up to give us the pizza wanted a larger tip than what we had given him (we gave him a $5 tip which is A LOT more that what we should have given him in the first place!). As if this wasn't bad enough, the day of the wedding, the hotel would not provide us with one of their travel cars because they told us they were "filled up" and that we had to have an appointment made to take the travel car but they never told us that! When we got back to California, the hotel then billed us for a robe they claimed we "stole" because they couldn't find it in they room. We never stole any robe; why would we want to steal an uncomfortable, cheap bathrobe from a hotel that put us through hell for a week? If you're planning to stay in the Ft. Lauderdale area, STAW AWAY from the Il Lugano!! One more thing, when we called to complain about their awful service, they hung up on us mid - sentence.
