I recently received a bill for $62.00 from the Illinois Tollway in northern Illinois. I got the bill in the mail in the beginning of March 2009 and the fines on the bill where from Thanksgiving of 2008 and Jan.10 of 09. The Thanksgiving day fines where for two separate issues totaling 40.00, the other incident on Jan.10th was for 22.00. I went through my records and I was at home on Thanksgiving and was at work on Jan.10th. On the bill they give you a number to call to debate your fine or request a hearing but when you call that number and select the extension they give you they hang up! I tried calling numerous times and I got know where. At the bottom of the bill it says if not paid in 30 days your drivers license gets suspended so I had to pay! I just got ripped off. It just shows you how corrupt Illinois really is!! Whats next?
