I was "hired" by Ty of Impact Auto Transport as an "independent contractor" ... there's so much fraud to say about this company, I don't know where to begin!
This corporation is supposedly a Florida registered business, but actually it operates overseas in the middle east. I found the job from an internet job posting, indicating that they were seeking a native-tongued English speaker, so that U.S. residents would not know that we were NOT actually IN Florida, or any other state.
Among the many lies: We were told that Impact Auto Transport (IAT) has been in business for over 5 years ... That it's the biggest auto transport in the state of Florida ... that other employees earn an average of $800-$1, 000 per week ...
After working there for a week (nights, mind you, to accomodate American customers), we learned that the info provided to us was lies ... we decided to discontinue employment (for good reason) and we have not been paid.
At the time I accepted this position, I had 1 other offer, and another interview scheduled ... my husband also had another employment offer, but we accepted THIS position based on the bad information.
Their website contains the BBB Accredidation logo, but in fact, they are not even a member. We were told that we'd receive paid training - in fact, on our first night, they provided us with a small folder of information to familiarize ourselves with the industry, the bogus details about the company and services, and teach ourselves the script. On night #2, we were on the phones making phone calls ... call after call ...
We both worked diligently 7-8 hours per day, making calls under the false pretense that $800-$1, 000 per week is not just possible, but AVERAGE ... We were offered a base pay plus commission ... base pay was less than minimum wage ... but after both uf us working for a week, they refuse to pay us. If this is how they treat two people who honestly worked, each of us making 50-90 calls per day, (and I did manage 3 sales, for which they got $200 fee per car per customer) how do they treat customers?
We stopped working there because we discovered we'd been lied to, had unknowingly lied to customers, and doubted we'd get paid for the time worked ... They told us to brag about their 5-star rating on TransportReviews.com ... it turns out they have only 6 reviews since joining the site back in March, and although there are 5-stars, other companies have hundreds of 5-star reviews every month!
So, they lied to us about who they were, how long they'd been in business, having other employees, didn't pay us, and had us uknowingly lying to customers! How much more fraudulent can a company be? Wonder if they even pay taxes for the money they're earning from American paying customers! Oh, one more thing ... the "owner(s)" of this company are also affiliated with United Freight of America ... check out their reviews on TransportReviews.com --- really bad!
I'm posting this review to warn anyone who is thinking about working for them, or selecting them to transport their vehicle from state to state.
