A close friend recently passed and for over three months we have been stuggling to get them to release the funds. It has been a nightmare! They have come up with one excuse after another as to why they have not paid the death claim. We are about to file a formal complaint with the State Insurance Comissioners office.
The first problem is that their sales woman sold our friend 7 IRA's over a 2 year period. She rolled his money over into a Equity Indexed Annuity from a few different IRA's every quarter and got a nice comission each time I'm sure. Our advisor informed us that our friend should have had only one IRA not seven.
I can't imagine that there haven't been many complaints already filed against them but ours will be just one more.
