Chennai - Alleppey Express runs between these two locations daily and full to its capacity almost everyday. Still the facilities provided are pathetic with age old compartments, stinking toilets, torn seats etc etc. I travelled by this train on 29th of September from Chennai central to Alwaye. I was in the S2 compartment and got the lower berths 49 & 52. There was a small stand like thing where you can keep your belongings or probably meant to have your food just below the windows. The same was in a pathetic situation with rust all over and I was sure the moment i touch it i am going to wound myself and moreover i dont know whether it will cure If i treat because of the amount of rust it had. I was travelling with my wife and my little son who is just 2 years old. I had to keep a vigil on him all the time to ensure that he did not wound himself. Why should I pay and buy danger to myself if this is the kind of service railways is giving to its customers? Even when i complained to the TTE, he said "Sorry sir i will make a complaint", and he vanished. When Railways is talking so big about Pssenger saftey and boasts about providing more amenities to its customers, why is it failing to take care of such a small saftey aspect? Can somebody answer me?
