Complaint 1.
I was told that I would get my package detailing the list of locations & Name of Hotels with the parcel .But it had nothing except 12 CDs & copies of books.

Complaint 2.
The invoice tells us to visit to www.booktoday.in/promos.htm for redeeming this free gift package of hoday.But this link is a fraud as it doesnt accepts the unique promo ID and tells that the details we have entered are wrong.

Complaint 3.
Invoice tells to contact on 011-40502424 for any assistance, where as this number is also a fake/cheat as no one picks up call & all we hear is an IVR voice line telling us to hold the line as our call in very IMPORTANT to them.

Complaint 4.

When I was making the purchase on phone with the India Today book club calling agent, I was never told that I m getting this free package of holiday for purchasing the 12 book package.Instead he framed all this a if I am purchasing a 3 day & 2 night holiday stay in 3 to 5 star hotel package including round air ticket for 3 adults at any location in India from a list of 60 destinations.And when I completed the financial transaction of Rs3198 on phone he informed me that I would get a 12 book set with 4 encyclopedia CDs free with this holiday package ( which was completely wrong, false, opposite to actaul real fat that I had actaully purchased a 12 book set/pirated book set.


I NEED MONEY BACK OR MY PROBLEMS GET RESOLVED.

Respected Sir/Madam myself Ayaz R Rangrej residing in Vadodara, Gujarat, India. I have been cheated by INDIA TODAY BOOK CLUB as they have launch some offer. The offer was about 2N 3Days package at their any of 1 destinations from 63 total number of destinations. The fees to be paid was Rs.2, 598/- as they said on phone by their executive but after the money deducted from credit card now they are keeping the terms and conditions letter in front of me. It was not said earlier by them, inspite of asking several times to their employee name Mr.Manoj. Mr.Ravinder, Mr.Yuvraj, etc. I have taken total 13 packages for my family members from them @Rs.2, 598/- each so the total comes to Rs.33, 774/- and now they are keeping all the terms and conditions with me. And they are demanding more money from me per package something Rs.8, 500/- per package. They also do have all the telephonic records with them in their system if any one wants to re-confirm the whole drama played by them. Their address in delhi is mentioned below :

I had placed 2 orders with India Today Book Club:

1. Domestic Holiday Package including a) 12 Books, b) 3 CDs, c) Return Air Tickets with Taxes for 2 Adults and 1 child and d) Stay in any of the 5-Star Hotels in India with Breakfast and Dinner.

Complaint: I have received only the books and CDs. I have not received any further information about the Holiday Package which is what was marketed by the marketing people. The agent, Rajendra-9953903745, who had convinced me by giving his mobile no., had informed me that within three days of receiving the books, I will be contacted by ITBC for delivering the details of the Holiday package. But there is no such sign even after 3 weeks and he is not receiving my calls anymore.

2. Combo offer of SAMSUNG MOBILE PHONE + PHILIPS HOME THEATRE + FUJIFILM DIGITALCAMERA with all accessories.

Complaint: I have received only the phone. There is no further news about the Camera and Home Theater. I called up Dilip-9250993058, the senior marketing advisor from ITBC who had dogged me for one complete week, handled this order and had given his mobile number also as an assurance. But this person received my call only once and after coming to know the reason of my call, he simply disconnected the call. He is not taking my calls anymore. When I called up the customer care, they are playing a different game by telling that there isno such offer.

I once got reply from [email protected] that I have to claim my gifts from http://bookstoday.in/promos.htm. But this site shows that it is down for maintenence and that I have to login after 3 days. This condition is not changed for the past 10 days.

I have written several emails to all the available IDs: [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected] and [email protected]. I have directly tried calling these people over phone and sent several SMSs to them to convey my concerns. But there seems to be no response of any kind from these people.

It is so surprising that these people have no limits in so conviniently cheating people and just carry on this as their day-to-day activity.

on 5th September, 09 I ordered Kodak Digital camera C180 (along with free gifts) from your store INDIA TODAY BOOK CLUB for Rs.5748. Booking Id is 11003932.

On 21st September 09 evening, I got a call(+911204740400) that I have won lucky draw for this purchase and I am eligible for a Philips DVD player+Home theater for Rs 599 Only(which are the delivery charges). However, when the transaction was completed Rs 7598 were debited from my account!!! and the person who placed the order didn't told the booking ID also. This is a fraud with the customer.I will like to cancel this transaction immediately.

I had a talk with a customer care person at 011-40502424 yesterday and he told me the booking ID for this order that is 110041707 and money has been debited by INDIA TODAY BOOK CLUB. Please cancel this DVD player order immediately.
Today I got the message confirming its processing order number 0GA090068695. Cancel this order. It has been wrongly done.

I place a order on 24rth of July 09 for "4 Britannica Encyclopedia CD's + Reebok Watch worth Rs.2600 for Rs.499" using my CREDIT CARD and I get delivery on 14th Aug.09 after too many emails to your team (email ID: [email protected] ITBC0980260)

But they send me a 4 MUSIC CD instead of 4 Britannica Encyclopedia CD's ! PLUS NOT send me a Reebok Watch worth Rs.2600 !!!

Whey I inform them on same day of delivery, I get reply after 4 days and they tell me to send CD's back to "India Today Book Club, B-47, Indira Enclave, Neb Sarai, New Delhi- 110068." And they also said that they send me a new parcel plus paid me courier fees as soon as they get original parcel.

And I send parcel on 22nd Aug.09 with all 4 Music CD's (in original pack condition) + Invoice Photo Copy + intimation letter + Courier receipt original copy.

And after 15 days just today I received message from "Mr.Kuldeep Singh" : We regret to inform you that the matter has been already forwarded to the concern department. The refund is currently in process and is expected to be with you within-25-30 working days. There are some internal formalities which we have to follow up to arrange your refund of Rs. 499/- so we request you to provide us this much of time to look into this matter. Hope you shall bear with us in the interim.

Now they tell me to wait for 25-30 days! Also they not said anything about my courier charge refund !!!

If I wait for more 30 Days that what is the guarantee that I get refund ? Also if I wait for this many days than I loose chargeback option with my credit card company already 40+ days pass...

Its my a very very bad experience with indiatodaybookclub ...

I also tell them that I am going to post complain against them on forums and your site but nothing! They have NO time to reply or response after payment. Only searching for new buyers...

Very BAD...

Hope to get my full money + courier charges return fast... OR I am going to file a consumer case against this cheater people of India Today Book Club.
