Wrong books and free book not sent!
I have just received a parcel from Living Media India Limited containing three books, one which matches my order, and two others that I never ordered. Also, I ordered these books only because the offer included a copy of J.K.Rowling's Harry Potter and teh Deathly Hallows @ Re. 1.00.

Kindly arrange for India Today Book Club to send my the books I ordered, and the copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I regret to add that if my complaint is not taken note of, I shall be forced to approach the Consumer Forum for redressal.

Bogus order & delivery and bogus membership
I ordered a few books on line from this book club and these were delivered on time by VPP. But on 03.07.07 I received a VPC from this club without any orders from me. The accompanying letter (unsigned) shows invoice No. ITBC07309941, Invoice date 14.06.07 and order No. ITBC242251 order date 10.06.07. I never placed such an order. Is it a marketing strategy for dubious books?
The same letter shows my membership Number also but when I attempted to log in, the site says this is not a valid membership number!
When I tried to lodge complaint on-line at their web-site, the club has provided any method of contacting them! There is no contact address, phone number, e-mail address or even 'contact us' tab. It seems the club is trying to run the business by taking people for a ride.

Non delivery of goods after full payment!
I had ordered CDs On-Line on this company and made FULL PAYMENT of Rs 669 using my CREDIT CARD. To my surprise, the Postman arrived with the goods on POD basis and demanded a payment of Rs 703 to deliver the consignment.
I have spoken to Ms Neha Kant of India Today Book Club and FAXED her my CREDIT CARD STATEMENT clearly showing the full amount charged. No response to several E-mails from me. The matter remains unresolved.

Haven't received 8 CD's
I was also been fooled by India Today Book Club get 6 CD's at 1 Re. each and 2 at MRP and I brought stuff of around 700 Rs. and committed delivery of 2 3 weeks till now I haven't received any... Neither they responded on mail or phone... Don't come in these offers... They are making us fool...

Did no receive books - paid money!
I got a mail from Spice Jet which brought books from India Today Book Club. I ordered 2 books and 3-4 music CD and got a confirmation that the stuff will be delivered within 2-3 weeks. Its been 3 weeks but I have not received anything. Mailed them but no response. Phone numbers on the website are wrong.

Advance made but book not received!
Last year, I a member of the India Today Book Club with membership no. ITBC 00034654 placed an order along with prepayment in the form of bank draft for 4 books. Three books were received but one book 'Botanica' was not sent on the ground that it is not available in stock and will be sent once it is available. Even after passage of about 9 months, there has been no further communication. I desire that the ordered book is sent at the earliest.

Paid for books but not received any
I got a link through [email protected] .The offer was to Buy:
Bestsellers Books & CDs starting AT Re 1/-. I selected the ones I liked and then paid online as India Today is a well reputed Magazine and they have a book club. IRCTC is a railway online book site by the Govt. I got a catalog of India Book Club by mail, but never got the books. Not even an acknowledgment receipt. My credit statement shows the amount. They are obviously cheats and would advise all to beware of them. |

No consignment received after charging
I suffer from same problem. These India today Book Club people are very poor in responding too. I have not received books and Cds even after a month. After sending them my booking number also they dont seem to bother about replying back. When we place the order too you will notice there is no contact number or contact id. However I have got the number with me and lets see whether they respond or not.
My advice - dont order from this company or at least dont make the payment!

Order not shipped even after 3 months!
I had ordered some books and CDs from India Today Book Club on 20th Feb 2007. Till 13th April 2007, I did not receive the books and the CDs. Many emails sent to their customer care department remain unanswered. Though the company belongs to a reputed media group, their service level is very disappointing. I intend to lodge a complaint with the cyber crime cell of Mumbai Police if they do not respond to my mails and deliver the promised merchandise within a week. I was told that this issue can be classified under cyber fraud. Looks like the company will wake up only when a summon is issued by the Police to its MD.
