baggage missing
I am very sorry to say but Air India is the lastest flight one should think while plan to travel... I traveled from New Delhi to Mumbai on 22 Dec'2010 by IC 688 which was scheduled to depart at 6 AM but owing to mismanagement of Air India service, we hardly managed to get Boarding pass after wandering here and there. After getting in the plane, it took off at 7:25 AM. On arrival to Mumbai, i found after waiting so long that my baggage has been replaced with someone else..This unfortunate incident occurred because of wrong name tag on the baggage. The baggage i found had my name written on it but it belonged to somebody else. On reporting this to Air baggage counter, they managed to write a report only and nothing else without owing any responsibility and repeated all time "WHAT CAN WE DO". And above all, the telephone no. provided in the report for us to enquire about status is not being cared by them to pick. They have no regret for the loss as well as inconvenience they caused..really a big shame for Air India.

I feel cheated and caught in trap
I booked ticket under unchecked fares. the website is very confusing . In front page if one looks at cancellation rules, it says one can cancel tickets, however only when you look at cancellation rules under net ticket, it says one cant cancel or prepone under unchecked fares. There is no transparency and no similarity . I say, they should have atleast mentioned in front page cancellation rule, that the cancellation rules are different for the net ticket unchecked fares. I feel cheated and caught in trap.

I have given a notice to the airlines to reimburse for the mental stress cause, but they have failed to reply
1) I had bought 2 tickets from Indian Airlines for going to Udaipur from Mumbai on 10/10/2005. my departure date was 8th December 2005 at 5.45 p.m
2) tHe staff called us and said that the flight was rescheduled to go in morning 11.00 instead of 5.45 p.m. My husband could not go as he had some offic commitments on that day. He was to take the flight on Friday (9th ) at 11.00 a.m
3) at 10 a.m on friday i got a call from teh airline staff saying that the flight is delayed and would leave at 2.00 p.m
4) again they called me at 10.45 a.m to say that the flight would be on time and assured me that they would waite for teh passengers since they had not given enough notice. However when my Husband landed at teh airport at 11.15 a.m teh airline staff said that the flight has left.
5) There was no other flight to Udaipur teh entire day and my Husband could not make it to attend an important function.
6) I have given a notice to the airlines to reimburse for the mental stress cause, but they have failed to reply.

No cust. service
I had a ticket on 17th May from Mumbai to Jodhpur. Departure Time was 15:15 but the flight took off around 23:00 hours. Just 15 minutes before departure it was announced that it will overfly Jodhpur.

There was no water in the 2 toilets. I was given a water bottle to wash hands and was told to keep the bottle in toilet only so that others can use.

We reached Udaipur at 1 am (midnight) Five passengers did not get their baggages. Upon passengers’ request, the officer on duty gave papers related to lost baggage.

While returning back on 20th May from Jodhpur, no water/juice was served till Udaipur. Upon asking I was told that they are not supposed to offer anything in a short flight of 25 minutes.

There is no email id or address where a customer can send all this feedback. I am a frequent flier, but all this was experienced for the first time.

Another problem is related to e-ticket. I have a ticket of 4 persons in one PNR. 2 of these 4 want to cancel the journey. There is no provision on website. 1407 says contact Airlines office. Airlines office says call on 011-24624074. This number is either busy or ’no reply’.

CHECK-IN BAGGAGE MISSING
Thursday, 07 May 2009

To
Indian Airlines,
Anna International Airport
Chennai.
INDIA.

Kind Attn: Customer Care Manager (Indian Airlines)

Sub: - Missing Baggage – NOT YET RECEIVED.

Sir / Madam,

I, Aliva Maharana, a resident of Chennai (Nanganallur), travelled from Chennai to Muscat via Calicut on 3rd may 2009 through the Indian airlines Flight No. 0925 (Chennai-Calicut-Muscat). I had one check-in baggage, however when I reached Muscat Airport I didn't get my baggage on arrival. Therefore, I booked a complaint with Indian Airlines Office at Muscat Airport. The Indian Airlines staff at Muscat Seeb International Airport gave me a PROPERTY IRREGULARTY REPORT (PIR) form to fill and to sign for my checked baggage (MCT-IC-095), Carrier Bag Tag No.0058-IC-226326. I left the airport premises with mental agony. The Indian Airlines staff said hopefully I will be getting the bag on the next flight probably same time next day but while visiting them next day the reply I got that “IT HAS NOT COME TODAY”.

Copy of the complain is attached herewith.

Details of missing baggage are as follows:

Type: Black colour Delsey Big Suitcase.
Check-in Bag Tag No. 0058-IC-226326
Weight Approx: 30 Kg
Contains: Personal Clothing, Some Valuable goods & important Documents.

Request you to urgently look into the matter and to trace out my missing baggage ASAP.

Expedite this case and revert back by e-mail: [email protected] and
GSM: 00968-92798413, please.

Inhospitable Treatment at New Delhi Domestic Airport
I would like to bring to your notice a very inhospitable treatment given by the person sitting on a Counter Manager’s desk at 5:00 AM 26th April 2008.
We had taken a passage to go from New Delhi to Trichy to attend a marriage.
There are about 4 flights daily from New Delhi to Chennai and only one flight from Chennai to Trichy (at 10:00 AM).

We decided to take the Early morning first flight from New Delhi Domestic airport to Chennai Kamraj airport.
New Delhi to Chennai (IC 439 6:40 AM – 9:00 AM). And the connecting flight was at 10 AM to Trichy.

We reached the airport sharp at 5:00 AM and got the ticket validated at one of the checkin counters.
The person wrote ‘Standby 190 and 191’ on our ticket. He asked to Check with the Counter Manager at 6:00 AM if there are any seats available.
But instead we approached the Counter Manager at 5:30 and he clearly said that the seats are not available.
Suddenly a lady came in from behind and even she was with the passage. She was from Indian Airlines. The counter manager kept her ticket on his desk and asked her to come a little later. When we asked him again he said that there are no seats available.

Later, half an hour before the flight was to depart we requested him to give us 2 seats as we would miss our Trichy flight. Incase even if we miss the Trichy flight we had done the backup of a train reservation, from Chennai to Trichy at 12:25 PM (Incase of delay).

He again said ‘No’, said that the seats are not available.

Even though we checked in before that other lady we were not given any seats whereas she was given seats 3A and 3C which I believe were Executive class seats.

My wife even requested him to ask the Captain if any Jump seats or Executive seats can be issued. But that person totally ignored.

We could not get the 6:40 flight to Chennai resulting to which we couldn’t catch the train. And so we reached late night to Trichy, just because the Counter Manager did not give us just 2 seats, whereas he gave the Executive seats to an Indian Airlines lady employee.
When I went to the Customer Service center (Cash Counter)at the Airport next to the Main gate and asked a bald guy whether if he can give me Feedback or suggestion form, he started speaking to me in very rude manner.

We both were having passages so why were we not given those seats instead of her, despite of checking in before she even reached the airport.
And is this the kind of training that Indian Airlines gives it’s employees on ‘How to Interact with people’.

Hope to have some positive revert ASAP.

Unfair treatment!
While traveling thru India on our honeymoon, my wife and I booked a domestic flight from Calicut to New Delhi with a connection in Mumbai on makemytrip.com for December 17th, 2007. Our flight from Calicut to Mumbai was with Indian Airlines. Our connection flight from Mumbai to New Delhi was with Go Air.

We arrived at the airport to learn that our flight from Calicut to Mumbai with Indian Airlines was severely delayed and we would not make it to Mumbai in time for our Go Air connection flight to continue on to New Delhi. Indian Airlines decided to re-route us through Chennai in an attempt to get us to Mumbai in time for our connection. However, this flight was late and we still did not make it to Mumbai in time for our Go Air flight to New Delhi. Indian Airlines insisted that they had done all that they could and would not help us in any further way. Go Air claimed that we were “no-shows” for our flight and forced us to purchase new tickets for $190.

This whole situation is completely unacceptable. I understand that flights get delayed, canceled, and run late as a matter of course. But I should certainly not have to purchase new tickets because Indian Airlines did not get me to Bombay in time for my connecting flight. The blame for this incident lays squarely on the shoulders of Indian Airlines. I would like to be compensated for the new $190 Go Air ticket that I had to purchase to get to New Delhi.

I am trying every means available to get Indian Airlines to compensate me.

I am a frequent traveler, a good customer, and a reasonable person, and I have been treated unfairly by Indian Airlines.
