Bad customer service in india, baggage broken
This is the first time i changed my airline company, as few of my friends recomended. I tried to adjust my self for the services i get throughout the journey. no personel screens on such a long 8hrs flight!!! tats first surprise.
and second surprise is....one of the airhostes asked her co-worker about his situation and he answered "hammered"!!! how can i expect any services from such a cabin crew?? by the end of my journey i end up with my broken baggage.
Second part of the complaint is ur customer service in mumbai,india.
i tried to call 4 or 5 times to postpone my return journey. but no proper answer fromcouple of your executives. giving there name when they r speaking with someone is courtesy.... dont u train them??
let me see how i will endup with my return journey.
If this happens again for my return journey as well, i dont think i will fly with ur company anymore.

Very cheap quality service
I am deeply surprised and upset that even after 4 days of my arrival by Indian Airlines Flight at Calicult Airport on IC 537 from Dubai on 09 August 2007 my accompanied baggage with a tag number XH 577332 is not yet received and not even given a proper explanation by its responsible officials both in Calicut as well as in Dubai.
On the same day of my arrival, I have filled the PIR form and handed over to their agent in Calicult Airport. Further on 11 Aug, they sent a telex message also to Dubai informing the non receipt of the baggage. However, no reply or not even a courtesy call from the airline to inform of the situation.
As you know for any international passenger, his accompanied baggage is very important as it usually contains various valuable documents and essential items.
Needless to say that I have already incurred lot of inconveniences including financial damages due to non receipt of the baggage.
I would have expected Indian Airlines would take at most care in handling the luggage of its passengers. My experience with IC is, sorry to say that is very poor. The behavior of counter staff when I made an inquiry as to what happened to the luggage was very poor without giving a concrete answer.
I would request your good self to take appropriate action to locate my luggage first and do the needful to sent to calicult Airport without any further delay.
An airline with a very cheap quality service that I have ever seen.

Very poor service!
Myslef and my family are regular traveler between trivandrum and sharjah sector. The lounge our there is real pathetic. I believe the toilet in open area inside the airport is much better than what is inside. Even though this air port is ISO 9002, i don't understand that how they gave a certificate that doesn't have a basic needs.
Even the staff inside the lounge is very rude and 24hrs they have the same sandwich and juice. They don't have anything better. I feel pity of our government and the staff. Our state is getting more into tourism and they are avoiding this airport.
Beware people!

Had missed the connecting flight!
I had planned to go to Srinagar on a holiday trip with my family and I had booked 3 tickets by Indian Airlines for 13 June 2007 from Chennai to Delhi by IC 440 with scheduled departure time of 6 40 AM. I had booked the connecting flight from Delhi to Srinagar by King Fisher Airlines with scheduled departure at 1 45 pm on the same day. After reaching the airport it was announced that the flight is delayed due to staff strike, But the staff continuously were assuring that the flight would take off shortly and finally took off at 12 40 PM and reached Delhi at 3 pm and I had missed the connecting flight of King fisher Airlines to Srinagar. I have lost Rs. 15050 due to this as the 3 tickets by King fisher were valid only for that day, More over I had to travel from Delhi to Jammu by a private bus without my dinner and sleep after so much harassment by travel agents at Delhi red fort bus stand and from Jammu to Delhi by a Sumo Jeep with my wife and daughter risking our lives. Finally I could reach Srinagar only at 11 30 pm at midnight the next day. I had to cancel the local sight seeing trips that I had already booked for 14 06 2007.
Instead of a pleasure trip it was a night mare for me and my family due to the inefficiency of Indian Airlines. Next time beware of traveling by Indian Airlines.

Fare shown less, after selection fare is more
I was trying to book a ticket on Bangalore to Mumbai sector. It showed 925 as base price for IC110 but when actually selection was made, it jumped up to 1990. Weird! And wasting my time.

No reimbursement for flight delay
Last week i was traveling from Bangalore to Nagpur. I booked two tickets for Bangalore to Bombay by Indian airlines and from Bombay to Nagpur by indigo.. The flight was at 11:20 am from Bangalore. But it was delayed by 15 mins and took off at 11:35am... it was supposed to reach Bombay by 12:50 pm. but reached at 2:10. pm. and because of that we missed our indigo flight to Nagpur which was at 2:00pm.
So we went to this Indian airlines duty manager who was a lady didn't respond to us properly. The customer service is very very bad. I have checked their site which says that if the flight is delayed by one hour there will refund the money but didn't happen so.
Plz check the below points from their site:
If a flight is delayed for more than one hour, the following facilities are provided to the passengers:
Full refund of fare is given if desired by a passenger. Alternate arrangements are made to take the passengers to the destination, either by air or other modes of transport. This is subject to availability of alternates.
Involuntary re-routing through circuitous and even longer routes, subject to seat availability.
Complimentary service of beverages, snacks or meals to the stranded passengers.
If there is enough time and if the passengers so wish, transportation back to town can also be arranged.
Personal messages to the passengers' destinations using the Indian Airlines communications channels.
24 hour hotel accommodation if the passenger wants to travel by the next flight/next day (in case of cancellation of flight).
The service the very bad. Never travel again!

Indian Airlines does not compensate foreigners for damaged baggage
I traveled from US to Mumbai, India, via Air France in December 2006. I made a side trip to Aurangabad via Indian Airlines. While returning to Mumbai from Aurangabad, one of my bags was torn at all seams, probably due to stacking of excessive luggage on it. I lodged a complaint and the airline person told me that their policy is to repair the bag - they pick up bag from home, fix, and return it. I had to leave for the USA within 4 hours -the tickets were verified by the airline person. I got the bag wrapped in plastic wrapper all-around and arrived in the US. I bought a new bag and sent the bill to Indian Airlines and gave them the option to repair my bag. The response I got was (1) We offered to repair the bag, but I declined. (2) Since the bag was able to tolerate the rigorous travel to the US, the bag is usable. I still have the bag, but it is not usable at all.
Conclusion: if you are a tourist, or on a short trip, traveling via Indian Airlines, you can have bags trashed with impunity and likely you will not be compensated. Travel with their competitors such as Kingfisher or Jet Airways.

Flight missed due to Indian Airlines Staff and ticket cost not refunded
I have booked ticket form self and family vide PNR No. REIH7Y (in the name of JHA BINAY MR) and RHTQWQ (in the name of JHA ANJANA MRS and JHA MAYANK MSTR) for dated 8th February 2007 Delhi (DEL) to Kolkata (CCU).
But unfortunately due to delay in delivering Air Ticket booked vide PNR No. RHTQWQ (in the name of JHA ANJANA MRS and JHA MAYANK MSTR) at the counter in Kolkata Airport we have missed our flight and thereafter I have contacted one lady, Dy Manager or like, at Kolkata Airport she has taken note of our PNR No. and assured that only Tax Portion of Ticket will be refunded to me and that will be credited back to my Credit Card Account although we missed flight due to delay in delivering Ticket by the Indian Airlines Staff.
But till date I did not get any refund from the Indian Airlines nor received any feedback that when it will be credited.
