I and my family could not get our reserved seats up to Ludhiana
I with my wife and daughter boarded train no.2445- Uttar Sampark Kranti Express on 21.04.2007 at 11.30PM for Jammu. My seats were reserved in Coach No.S5 with birth no. 41 to 43. I was stunned to find that some people had already occupying my seats and inspite of my showing them the duly reserved ticket, they declined to vacate my seats and instead started using abusive language. They claimed that they have been alotted these seats by TTE Sh.Manjit Singh. When I traced the TTE Sh.Manjit Singh, he was under the influence of liquor and was sitting in AC compartment of the train. On that very day, no TTE of railways ever came to our compartment S5 to check the tickets upto Jammu. The compartment had more than 40 passengers who were not having reservation in that very compartment. But so called TTE Sh.Manjit Singh who was responsible for this situation was enjoying in AC coach . I am of the opinion that all these unauthorised people had paid extra money to TTE Sh.Manjit Singh for being accomodated in coach S5. When I approached GRP staff on duty in the train, they also did not cooperate. I and my family could not get our reserved seats up to Ludhiana.

TICKET CHECKER'S MISBEHAVIOR, ABUSIVE LANGUAGE UPON REFUSED FOR DEMANDING MONEY BY HIM
Respected Sir/Madam,
R/SIR,
I'M VIKRAM KUMAR, TODAY ON DT. 19.07.2010 START TRAVELING FROM HISAR RAILWAY STATION TO REWARI, I COLLECT MY TICKET A-48328793 OF RS. 22/- ON 4:48. DURING THIS I ASKED ON TICKET WINDOW THAT THEY HAVE ANY EARLY TRAIN FOR REWARI. THEN WINDOW MAN REPLIED ME THAT IF YOU WANT TO GO EARLY THEN YOU CAN CATCH THE HISAR-DELHI TRAIN FOR BHIWANI AND CHANGE THE TRAIN FROM BHIWANI TO REWARI. WHICH COMING SOON. THEN I CATCH THE SAME TRAIN FOR TRAVEL, AFTER REACHING ON BHIWANI STATION I ASKED BY ONE TICKET CHECKER FOR TICKET. I SHOW MY TICKET TO HIM. AFTER CHECKING THE TICKET HE TOLD ME THAT I HAVE A TICKET WIHTOUT SUPERFAST CHARGES SO I HAVE NEED TO GIVE HIM RS. 200/- PERSONALY WITHOUT DISCLOSING ABT THIS TO ANYONE OR HE WILL FINE ME MINIMUM AMT. 265 OR ABOVE ALONGWITH IMPRISONMENT. THEN I POLITELY TOLD HIM THAT IF I DON'T HAVE SUPERFAST TRAIN TICKET THEN YOU CAN CHARGE ME FOR RS.15-20/- FOR SUPERFAST CHARGES AND IF I HAVE NEED TO GIVE HIM RS. 200/- PERONALY THEN WHY NOT I TAKE A CHALLAN FOR RS.265/- BECAUSE NOT A BIG MARGIN IN THIS AMOUNT AND I CAN STOP GOVERNMENT LOSS BY THIS. THEN HE SUDDENLY BECOME SO RUDE BEHAVIOR WITH ME ALONG WITH ABUSIVE LANGUAGE.
THEN HE START LOUDLY WITH ABUSIVE LANGUAGE TO ME THAT I DON'T HAVE NEED TO LEARN ACT TO HIM. HE ALREADY KNOW NOW WHAT HE NEED TO DO WITH ME. THEN I ALSO DON'T WANT TO CONFLICT WITH ANY DISPUTE DUE TO EMERGENCY FOR THE DESTINATION. I GIVE HIM RS. 300/- AND FORCE HIM IF YOU WANT TO CHARGE ME WITH CHALLAN THEN I'M READY OR ELSE WHAT YOU WANT TO DO YOU CAN. THEN I DON'T KNOW WHAT HE THINK. HE GAVE ME A CHALLAN COPY B-908677 AND CONTINUE BURBURING WITH ABUSIVE LANGAUGE TO LEAVE HIM ALONE. THEN I RUN TOWARDS ANOTHER RAIL FOR BHIWANI TO REWARI ON 06:45 AM.
SIR, HERE I HAVE A LOT OF QUESTION IN MY MIND THAT IF OUR RAILWAY STAFF DO THIS WITH PASSENGERS THEN HOW WE CAN SAY THAT INDIAN RAILWAYS IS THE LARGEST & SAFEST TRAIN IN INDIAN RAILWAY. IF ANY PASSENGER HAVE ONLY THAT MONEY HE HAVE NEED DURING RETURN. THEY HOW THEY CAN FULFILL THE DEMAND OF SUCH GREEDY PEOPLE. I'M LOADGING THIS COMPLAINT FOR THIS PURPOSE THAT ANY OTHER PERSON DOES NOT BECOME ANOTHER VICTIM FOR SUCH TYPE CASES, UNLESS HOW ANY CAN TRAVEL WITH SAFE. AND PLEASE TAKE ANY SUITABLE ACTION FOR THAT TICKET CHECKER WHO WANT TO COLLECT THE WRONG MONEY FROM PASSENGERS ON THE FEAR OF ACT.
SIR, IN INDIA WE DON'T HAVE A LACK OF PEOPLE WE NOW ALSO WANT TO DO WORK ON THEIR SATISFACTION LEVEL THEN WHY YOU HAV SUCH GREEDY PEOPLE IN OUR RAILWAY DEPARTMENT, I THINK THEY ARE THE REASON FOR BAD NAMING OF DEPARTMENT.

Extremely pathetic that after so many complaints nothing has been done to take care of this problem
The PNG (Panipat / New Delhi / Ghaziabad) mail is a regular train from its source to destination. The problem is that there is only one ladies compartment in the train. We all know that there is a huge no. of people travelling through this train, as a result of which it becomes very difficult for us to commute in such a suffocated train. Few days back, a child had died because of the rush in the train. It is extremely pathetic that after so many complaints nothing has been done to take care of this problem.

Do not take the risk of booking your tickets online
I saw an advertisement of indian railways regarding the online booking of tickets for your journey in the HINDUSTAN TIMES dated on 5th april 2006. With great enthu I logged on to my p.c and started the process to book my online ticket on the railway online booking site. To my great surprise everything went on fine till my bank transaction was completed and due amount of 1850 was debited from my account. But the things got immiteately nasty just after the transaction was completed and my account was debited of Rs1850.Just after this the online window showed me the msg.. YOUR TRAIN TICKET COULD NOT BE BOOKED DUE TO COMMUNICATION ERROR, HOWEVER THE AMOUNT DEBITED WILL BE REFUNDED TO YOUR ACCOUNT LATER.
I am really frustated and I feel that I have been duped of my hard earned money. These people are so cleaver that till the moment the transaction was completed there was no problem and when they got the money in their account, they refused the ticket by saying that there was a communication problem and would u like to book a new ticket? I wonder is this the type of services the indian railways are suppose to give? Its a shame on their part to dupe people in buying ticket online and robbing them of their precious time and money, moreover in their complaint cell no one intertained my complaint. First of all their no. are always busy and if it rings two time s somebody will lift the phone off the hook without even saying hello.
I WOULD REQUEST ALL FELLOW CITIZEN NOT TO TAKE THE RISK OF BOOKING THEIR TICKETS ONLINE .IF THEY WANT TO RISK IT, THEN ONLY IT IS ADVISABLE OTHERVISE THEY WILL ALSO BE DUPED AND ROBBED BY GREAT INDIAN RAILWAYS.

Avoid Indian Railways at all costs
We had complained against the station manager Sh. Satish Yadav, who due to his vested interests bypassed the recommendation of Sh. Kailash Vijayvargye, Minister for Public Works Deparetment, Government of M.P
On 12/6/05, I had to travel from Indore to Mumbai Central ( 2 seats) by train no. 2962 in class 2-AC, the PNR no. was 816-0060122 Sh. Kailash Vijayvargye, Minister for Public Works Deparetment, Government of M.P, on his letter head recommended to confirm the reservation in VIP quota.
On being contacted to confirm the reservation at 12.30 in the noon, Station Master Sh Satish Yadav informed that as M.Ps are traveling on that day, it will not be possible to confirm the seats in 2-AC class. He asked me to get a ticket for 3-AC which he assured to confirm from VIP quota of 12 seats. I bought ticket of 3-AC class for 2 persons (ticket no. 00776882, PNR no. 836-0405056).
Inspite of the quota of 12 VIP seats and assuring me of confirmation of seat in 3-AC, Sh. Satish Yadav deliberately did not confirm the seat due to his vested & malafide interests. When I tried to contact him on tel no. 2527585 in this regard, his phone was continuously ringing between 1pm to 4 pm but he did not pick up the phone as he had dishonestly allotted the seats for his vested interests.
I request that a genuine enquiry should be conducted in the matter to find out as to who was so important to whom the seats from the VIP quota were allotted by Station Master, Sh. Satish Yadav.

NOT PRESENCE OF TTE
TO,
CUSTOMER COMPLAINT CELL,
INDIAN RAILWAYS,
Respected Sir,
I travelled from Kanyakumari to Coimbatore on 29 Jun 10 PNR NO. 453-1093162, train No. 6525 Bangalore Exp. My ticket was waiting list 1, 2, 3, 4. I conformed it and occupied my birth, the train was full by the local passengers, they did not allow me to seat on my birth inspite of reservation. I searched the TTE but could not found and he visited the coach at TRichur railway station approx after 8 hrs, of leaving train form Kanyakumari. When I asked he told me he is Earnakulam Staff which he mentioned on my ticket at my request. Meanwile both my sons become sick there condition was becoming serious. I requested the TTE for medical aids which was available at Pallakad railways station on charge of Rs 50/-. Upto Trichur I travelled without verification of my birth by railway staff and without any help for my son which was provided at Pallakad. My request is that medical aids should be free of cost and strict disciplinary action should be taken against those TTE, who are not checking tickets at proper station.
WITH BEST REGARDS,
UPENDRA SINGH

Suffocated inside AC Compartment
I was travelling with my wife in 2835, Hatia - Yesvantpur Superfast Express on last Tuesday (22-Jun-2010) in coach number B3. From the beginning of the journey there was no water supply in the toilets. To add on top of it, suddenly on the day 1 of the journey, sometime after midnight the ACs stopped working in our coach. Initially we didn't realized, however during early morning (of day 2) all passengers started complaining. Since it's summer and there used to be absolutely no air ventilation in the AC compartments, it started suffocating inside. We kept complaining to the attendant, to the Ticket Checker and whomever it was possible, but everything went in vein. We kept asking for the complaint book but no one availed it to us (actually it was no where there). Finally during 7:3o in the evening the attendant informed us that one of the compressors has failed because the compartment was manufactured during 1997 and it cannot take the load. He kept postponing a fix for this issue and finally with utter nuisance we reached Yesvantpur. It was nothing but a horrendous journey (courtesy our great Indian Railway), which I pray no one should ever have in there life. I've the following questions:
1) How can a department like Indian Railway be such irresponsible to give a green flag to such long distance train, without absolutely not checking the technical fitness of all compartments?
2) Most of the passengers who travel in this particular train are patients (because of well connectivity with Vellore). What if someone would have lost there life inside because of the suffocation? Who should have been held responsible for that?
3) We've paid money for travelling in an AC compartment. Will Indian Railway refund the money because we faced the trouble?

berth allotment
i was on the train number 2231 LKO-CDG super fast express. i had got my ticket reserved under the tatkal quota and at the time of booking i had the status W/L 15 and at last my ticket was not confirmed and i had to travel with a W/L ticket, the thing is that the persons with W/L more than me had got there tickets confirmed. please tell me how is that possible? is the allotment of berth really fair enough? and moreover there were some school students in two coaches my question to you guys is that is there was a special booking than Indian railways should have attached two separate coaches for them so as to accommodate the general passenger as well...

Waiting tickets given preference over RAC tickets
I, V.K. Shukla, am travelling with my daughter from Gorakhpur Junction to Howrah on train number 5048 (Purvanchal Express) in coach no. S8 seat no. 15, have not been given confirmed seat even though some seats are vacant.
I had a RAC ticket which should be confirmed before waiting tickets. I and my daughter have to share one seat even though some seats are vacant. The TTE is confirming some waiting tickets but not the RAC ones.
The train is about to reach Barauni. This is highly irresponsible on the part of Indian Railways.

Misbehavior by TTE
Complaint about the misbehavior of TTE - Mr. N.Devasundaram, Deputy CTA, Erode
I am a doctor practicing in Kochi. I had to travel by the Nagore Express from Ernakulam Jn. to Ottapalam on 29th. May 2010 for an emergency purpose. Since it was an emergency, I could not book my berth in advance. However, on suggestion from the Railway enquiry, I bought a regular ticket to Ottapalam and decided to try my luck of getting a berth with the TTE. I boarded the S2 coach and sat beside the Police constable who was the security in charge in the train. The constable reassured me that there were berths available and that I need not board the general unreserved coach. The train soon left the station and started moving at high speeds.
The TTE Mr. N. Devasundaram reported for his routine check whereupon I requested him to allot me a berth, if possible. He said it was not possible at all and that I should try my luck in the AC coach. He also added that I should leave the coach immediately. I walked up to the AC coach only to be told by the TTE there that there was no berth available in the AC coach too. I walked back and requested the TTE Mr. Devasundaram to somehow allot me a seat till Ottapalam. He retorted very rudely and asked me to go out of the compartment. I walked ahead and sat in one of the vacant seats in the S2 coach, waiting to alight when the train stopped next, to go to the unreserved compartment, as there is no connection of the rest of the compartments with the unreserved coaches. This was when the TTE approached me again. He was very rude. He asked me to go out of the coach. I asked him how I could get out of the coach when the train was moving. He did not have the patience to listen to me, but told me that I should not be seen next time he comes that way. I walked along the aisle and stayed close to the door to alight and get into the unreserved compartment when the train stops at the next station. Soon afterwards, the TTE came up again with a shower of abuses. He threatened to impose a fine on me... I asked him to fine me immediately. I produced my ticket and told him that I'm a person who obeys laws of the land that I was only happy to pay a fine as I had erred by entering a reserved coach without a reservation. He fined me. Now, I requested him to be a little more polite with passengers... he started abusing me... I asked him his name and designation when he flew up in a big rage and continued hurling abuses... and that he is willing to fight a case upto the Supreme court if I'm to face him legally. He asked me to get out of the apartment immediately. I told him that I'll take this case of misbehavior with the concerned authorities... I got out of the compartment at the next station and continued my journey in the unreserved compartment.
As a patriotic Indian, I feel depressed when I think of such arrogant public servants... It is a disgrace for the country as well as the organization to have such people on rolls... they should be taken to task and reprimanded for their improper behavior. I fervently hope some authority in the Indian Railway sees this posting and takes appropriate steps against this extremely arrogant railway employee Mr. N. Devasundaram, Deputy CTA, Erode.
