Dear Sir/Madam,

I had reserved a ticket from mysore to bangalore on 19th oct 2009 on train no 213/ triupati passenger, through internet bookings and have confiremd seats in s3 coach, to my horrow on the day journey i found out that the enitre comparement was full wiht people wiht unreserved tickets, insipte of request people did not move from my seat. Finally since i had reach bangalore i did not have time to take the issues with concnerned authoriy i had pay extra and take a seat in First class .
Can the Concerned authorites do something, becuase this happens almost every day in most of trains. Other wise do not provide the reservations for the same trains.
One more thing i do not know where to take up this issue with railway department

Safety & Security at Kalyan Railway Station
I submit that i was traveeling to vishakhapatnam on 15.08.09.I
got RAC accommodation up to Srikakulam Road in Konark Express. I was travelling with wife, daughter and two grand children. While iwas boarding iwas cornereed and my mobile phone and ticket were snatched. As i have to go urgently i continued my journey. I could not find any RPF personnel. I told the TTE who is S1 coach. He told me to sit in the place allotted to and the TTE will come at Pune and prepare the ticket. I was told that i Have to pay entire amount. I have Paid Rs 2150=00 as there will not be any concessional fare is allowed in the train. I immediately informed BSNL and submitted an application through my office staff to block my number. 9423090793. Immediately after returning from Vizag i made complaint in the local police station at Ambernath on 24.08.2009 about the lost phone and got new Sim card with same Number. I have sent an E-mail to Cyber cell mumbai also with IMEI number.I feel that stolen ticket must have encashed. The sad part is that gang which cornered me was comprising of a female well dressed may be around 50 years and she had gathered all information about berth nos etc from my family. I feel that Kalyan station is paradise for all such anti social elements. I am still keeping the ticket prepared in the train for further reference if required. Railway administration should take suitable measures to prevent such incidents.

Deteriorating condition of coaches
This is to highlight pathetic condition of coaches & services in prestigious trains like Dehradun-N. Delhi Shatabdi Exp & Jan Shatabdi Exp. I have been travelling in these trains for years & I have observed sudden worsening of quality of services, catering & condition of AC chair car coaches.

I have lodged complaints on several occasions but unfortunately no action has been taken. Complaint books are full of many such complaints by harassed passengers but Railway authorities at Dehradun appear to be unconcerned (or helpless). Two of latest complaints lodged by me are as detailed below:

PNR Date Train Remarks
2363559432 29.08.09 2055 Very old dirty coach (C4), Non functional AC, broken seats, no plug points in AC coach,
2527047547 29.09.09 2056 Again old dirty coach(C2), Non functional AC, broken seats, broken tables, torn bottle holders, no plug points in AC coach & cockroaches as co-passengers.

It is surprising that TTE’s hand over complaint books with smiling faces & telling passengers that “Write whatever you wish, but nothing is going to happen”.

These trains serve tourist destinations like Haridwar, Rishikesh & Dehradun and several foreign tourists travel by these trains. I have seen them making mockery of standards of Indian railways & terming coaches belonging to Jurassic age, which hurts me as a true Indian.

The worst affected are passengers who have paid a hefty amount as Tatkal charges and are forced to travel in such dilapidated coaches, they really feel cheated by Railways. I always believed that Railways have a very effective grievance redressal mechanism but ignorance of repeated complaints has shattered by faith in Railways.

POOR TOILET DOORS - TOILET DOORS NOT CLOSING PROPERLY
Myself, my wife and my child travelled from Nagpur to Thane by sevagram express 2140 on 23/09/2009. My seat no was S2/0061.
The toilet door in this compartment was so tight that my wife was locked inside the toilet for about 10 minutes. With great difficulty she opened the latch injuring her hand.

I request that all toilets be checked as it is used by children, and senior citizens as well to ensure safety.

Mismanagement in AC coaches
Train No. & Name : 2627/Karnataka Exp
Class: 3A
Date of Boarding : 20-sep-2009
PNR no.:4410735371
Coach no. & Seat No. :B3, 28

The AC and light were not working that day in our coach. That day it was really uncomfortable to have our dinner in emergency light. Despite of complaining again and again they were not listening us and were not providing the complain book.We are paying so much for AC coaches to make our journey comfortable but Indian Railways are not working properly.I kindly request you to look into this matter and take some step.

Theft on Vishaka express
I was travelling on the Shirdi - Vishakapatnam Vishaka Express, having departed from the Sai Nagar Station [Shirdi] at 6:50pm on the 10th of September to disembark at the Secunderabad Junction. We were a group of five women, all relatives of mine, and were allocated seat numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 in the S2 compartment. As there were very few travellers in this train, only two second class compartments [S1 and S2] appeared to be satisfactorily occupied while the remaining seven coaches were more or less empty through the remainder of the journey.

As the seats were located near the exit doors of the coach, and three of the women were elderly by nature, we even requested the TTE to provide seats somewhere in the middle of the coach. He said that transferring a group of people ie. us, would not be possible, and told us that we could instead lock the doors of the coach at night, as nobody was expected to exit/ enter through the remainder of the night's journey. I slept off around 2 am in the morning and my relative was up around 5.30 am the next day.

At around 8am, when all of us were awake, we decided to transfer to a compartment in the middle, as the stench from the toilets were too much to handle. It was then we realized that an Infosys travel bag containing my mothers and my artefacts was missing.

Although there was no money or jewelery, it contained a Siemens hearing aid worth Rs. 22, 000 and is extremely difficult to replace.

We searched the entire train immediately and even went to locate the TTE so as to report the matter to him. However, he was not to be located in any of the compartments, even in the First Class AC Compartment, where a Railway Vendor reported him to be sleeping. The train arrived around 10am where in we disembarked and reported the matter to a police officer, Mr. Kodana Rao, of the Secunderabad Railway Police. He went in search for the train guard so as to locate the timings and stations the train had stopped at during the night. The guard was not available and the police officer, having heard the contents of the luggage, told us that filing the FIR was a lengthy procedure and downright told us to forget about the whole matter, as we were residents of Chennai and did not take any more interest in the matter.

The travel bag is a distictive blue and cream Infosys shoulder bag, with wheels. The distinctive contents include:

1. Siemens Hearing Aid (red colour) in a white dehumidifier box
2. Homeopathic kit which contains a list headed by the name of Dr. Premila Rajan and her phone number
3. Turakhia blue optical kit containg hair accessories.
4. A book called City of Glass by Alexandro Barisso.
5. Several sets of clothing and cosmetics.

The entire worth of the lost baggage is about 30, 000 rupees.

It is extremely shocking that the TTE was absent when we needed him, and that the Secunderabad Railway Police dismissed the entire matter, on hearing that the most important item was a hearing aid and refused to believe that it was worth 22, 000 rupees.

reservation for senior citizens
Railways allott middle and upper bearths to Senior Citizens, in case, lower bearths are not available, on the date of reservation. However if lower bearth falls vacant subsequently due to cancellation, the same is not allotted to such Senior Citizens due to present reservation policy and they are forced to travel in middle and upper bearths enduring hardships. I suggest that in such cases, Railways allott 'confirmed but provisionally allotted' bearths, subject to final allottment on the day of travel, for a possible availability of lower bearth, to minimise hardships to Senior Citizens. The status of bearth allottment can be checked on phone with PNR no. before travel.

Thanking You

Tatkal Fare
as per new Railway budget on Jul 2009 announced by Mamatha Benarji tatkal ticket booking process reduced from 5 to 2 days and tatkal fare slashes from 150/- to 100/-.

but actually it's not implemented till now. process already started as 2 days instead of 5 days. but why still the fare collecting 150/-.

why this wil happen?. still why the railway department charging 150/- which was introduced by Lalu.

why the government cheating the public like this?

already they are cutting 80% money when we cancel the tatkal ticket.

why they don't implement this facility which helpful the public ?

some rules are implementing very fast which are helpful to them?

why this much delay which was saving money to public at this recession period?

this is happening every time because of lack of unity in public. all are thinking i have no problem to pay much...but think before pay why we pay extra instead of actual which was declared by government recently after they elected by public like US.

MISBEHAVIOUR OF TC
Sir,
I was travelling in 2472 Jammu Tawi Express on 8th July, 2009 and boarded the train at Jammu Station. My PNR No. is8332717409. I was having RAC in Coach B2 Seat 55. I requested the T.C. Incharge to temporary give me berth to sleep since I had not slept previous night and after my RAC is confirmed I will shift on my own. However he denied. But to surprise after 2-3 hrs I found all T.C.'s Sitting in 3 AC with bedsheet tied on both ends of the upper seat so that nobody can see them. Firstly I thought some ladies might have tied the cloth for privacy, but when some other persons informed me that all T.C.'s alongwith Railway Constable are sitting inside and gossipping I felt surprise. I again requested them to give berth but they denied and told me to leave.
This attitude and behaviour on the part of T.C.s and also Railway constables shows how they rule over in compartments. One person who had got Sitting Class Tkt was allowed in 3AC and he was temporary allowed to sit in 2AC very comfortably. I have got his receipt number also. He was my fellow passenger and travelled from Jammu to BDTS. The above acts on part of T.C. clearly shows that for earning illegal money they allow anything.
But instead a person who has valid RAC Tkt is not even given a vacant berth to temporary rest for 3-4 hours when there are so many vacant berths available for atleast 5-6 hours i.e. upto Delhi. When these T.C.'s can sit occupying entire six seats why a passenger is denied.
Why did these T.C's alongwith Railway constable put a big bedsheet and save themselves from eyes of other commuters and why did they deny me temporary berth, is it because I did not pay them money. Instead they started speaking in vague manner and told me to leave and further informed me that berth will be given to me after mathura i.e. at Mid-night.
It is therefore requested to take strict action on all the above T.C.'s and railway constable, or else I will be at liberty to send this video shooting to national news channels to show to public. Kindly inform me accordingly.
Thanks

as how side upper berths can be there in 2nd AC!!

Can you please look into the matter and do the needful?
