Unacceptable
I am writing this complaint in hopes that it will get noticed by Indian Railways management.

They trains are always overcrowded. I noticed that many people often don't have tickets which makes it difficult almost impossible for people who pay for the transportation to get what they paid for.

The aisle for toilets is often blocked by passengers. There is no water in the toilets, fans and lights also not working.

Complaints submitted to the railroad management didn't produce any results.

i was Unable to Travel in Godavari Express, bath Room are Getting Smelling are not Clean.Please remove the Side Middle Berth. now the Seats in the Coach are 81, i suggest u to extra seats/Berths to make them limited to 72 only. Instead of putting extra seats Better Provide Extra Coach. i had given manditory complaint to DCM inVisakhapatnam.

Misbehavior of attendant on 2nd AC coach
This complaint is about the attendant present in 2nd AC coach.I was travel ling in a 2nd AC coach on 17th August-2008 by Train no. 2722 (Dakshin Express) Coach A1.I boarded the train at Nagpur station. Once train started the attendant came and handed over the bed sheet, but didn't gave the blanket and pillow to me. I waited for that and later when he didn't turned up I went to search him, But I couldn't found him. I came back to my seat and fallen asleep. Later when I got up I again went I search of him but he was not present in the coach. Then I went to the next coach and found he was sleeping their with his friend. I woke him up and told about the pillow and blanket and asked him to handover it. But he was unmoved and started shouting. Later he told that he might have kept on the above seat and I told that I will check it and came back and after some time that guy followed me and took the blanket from the above seat and gave it to me and went back. I asked for the pillow but he didn't listened. Then I followed him to the place he was sleeping and told pillow is still missing then he again started shouting that its not his responsibility and he said go and file complaint if you want. Then I came back saying that I will file a complaint against him. After few minutes his friend came to my seat and gave one pillow but that guy didn't even bother.

I am writing this because in the morning when I got down from the train I forgot to file complain against that guy. But want that he should be punished. Because we pay so much for 2nd AC fair to have a comfortable journey and most of foreign travelers also travel by 2nd AC but if the attendant are so bad then it leaves a bad taste in the mouth. Please take action against that guy who was on duty that day if we want to improve services of Indian railways.

Theft in Rajdhani
I was traveling from Hazrat Nizammudin (New Delhi) to Secunderabad on by Rajdhani express, Train no.- 2438 on 10th Aug'08. For the last one & half years I have been traveling by flights. Since the recent hike in flight fares, I booked reservation for myself, my wife & son in the Rajdhani express in II AC.
On 11th Aug'08 morning at about 5:20 am, we found that the handbag of my wife was stolen. This happened just before reaching Jhansi railway station (Our berths were inside berths, coach- A4 & berths 37, 38 & 39, PNR no.- 215-0016503). Since Rajdhani express is AC train the windows are not openable.
I approached the coach attendant & the TT. We searched for person who had stolen the bag. There was also such theft incident in coach A3 in the adjacent compartment. We tried to find any person getting down the train at Jhansi station, but nobody got down. After about an hour we came to know from the attendant that the handbag was stuffed inside one of the toilets in our coach.

The handbag was taken out from the comode. We had lost Rs 2000/- cash, two mobile phones (with no.- 09313551935 & 09312169922), four spectacles, my wife's voter ID card, and the handbag (white colour) was also new worth Rs 1000/-. Totally worth Rs 7000/- belongings were lost. Since the handbag was in the comode, we had to throw away the same.

The train TT (A Sardarji) told me to put up an FIR at Secunderabad railway station. After getting down at Secunderabad station at 1:30 am midnight on 12th Aug'08 (Rajdhani was delayed by 8 hours on that journey) I approached the Railway stn. police station. They did not lodge the complaint/FIR. Instead the police officer asked me to send my application to Hazrat Nizammudin Railway station or Jhansi station. I had nothing to say but to leave to my home as we were tired after traveling for 30 hours.

There was no police/security personnel in the train. I felt that India's prestigious train Rajdhani express with no safety/security arrangement. I also understood that the theft was done by some of the train attendants and more doubt on the train electrician, because we saw him moving in the compartment around the time of theft. If this is the case, there may be such theft cases daily in the so-called Rajdhani express by the inside train railway staff and this might have already become a practice to them. The passengers have only to accept this as neither the TT, nor the staff & nor the police will support them.
I am not bothered about the lost things but the unsafe trains we are having, where the staff steals the passenger's belongings, when they are asleep.

I hope somebody will be able to bring this in control and the staff who are involved are brought to task.

Complaint on online reservation system
I supposed to do online reservation today morning at 8 am i:e on 12/08/2008. But the site http://irctc.co.in/ is not coming up. Problem is server is not available. After half and hour the site is coming up. By the time tatkal tickets are booked and those are under waiting list with in half and hour. I think some people who were maintaining this site wontedly done to block the site for some time to make their benefits. I strictly apologize this issue. I want to give strong complaint on this issue to railway department. Please consider this as high priority of my complaint.

Non performance of Job by Ticket Checker
Dear Sir,

I am a frequent traveller from Gurgaon to Jaisalmer. I travel by Train Delhi Jsm Express ( Train No 4059 ). There are lots of people who travel daily from Delhi to Rewari/ Alwar by this train without ticket and they travel in reservation coaches. The people who travel with reservation do not get chance to sit on their own reserved seat. All the non ticket holder occupy seats and people get their seat mostly after Rewari. In the meanwhile, journy from Delhi to Alwar, no ticket checker comes to check the ticket and no RPF corp is on duty.

Even gents occupy all the seats of ladies quota and they alo use abusive language.

Please take some action against these serious problems in welfare of common people and make the train journey safe for all people and especailly for women.

Fraud and cheating
I had bitter experience of traveling in Sealdah Rajdhani Leaving New Delhi on 14th Jun 2008. No glasses were provided with the water bottle. At dinner no veg dish was served. No salad was served. Chicken curry & dal were horrible.only two 1 1/2inch pieces of chicken were in the dish. No fruit was served in the breakfast.No tetra packed juice, instead loose pepsi in glasses was served. Why cant the private caterer display what is to be served to the passengers, as is being done by irctc.

Who is supposed to monitor that passengers get what they are paying for? It is no charity. It is all because it is a private caterer and all are gtg their share in looting the passengers. I had lodged a complaint with the Pantry I doubt if it will have any effect.

No refund
I have booked a ticket thru IRCTC in AC chair car from Delhi to Suratgarh for 03-12-2007. The train "ABAD ASSAM was late for 15 hrs, hence I canceled my E-ticket (PNR No. 6210267966). I have submitted application for refund. After numerous reminders I have failed to get my money back. I received a letter(No.2003/IRTC/ERTD/REFUNDS/E-ticket dt. 18.12.2007 signed by Mr. V.P. Indoria that money will be refunded in 90 days time. More than 6 months have passed and REFUND is still awaited.

Delays in the Delivery of Bike booked on 20th April
Dear Sir / Madam,

Indian Railways is supposed to be the biggest railways in the world. But to my dismay the services provided by the Indian railways are degrading day by day. I am not sure of the reason?

I booked my bike from Agra on 20th April 2008 to Mysore (Bilty number:- B 07722) and even now after 20 days the bike is still standing at the Agra Railway station. When my father contated the authorities they have 100s of different reasons and excuses for the same.
Can you please help me so that the pain i am getting through can be reduced and i can get my bike here in Mysore asap.

Excessive delays

I have been travelling in Lokmanyatilak Express(Train No 1014) for past Many years, I travelled on 10th of May 2008, ( My PNR No 4510130178) The Actual departure of the train is Mentioned at 8 am from Coimbatore, The train started late by departing at 9 Am, I was supposed to travel up to gulbarga but the train almost reached 3 hr late at raichur where I have got down( actual time is 2320 at raichur) This train has been reaching almost late by 1 hr and More for the past many Months which is causing lot of Inconeniance to the passengers, in this matter I have suffered lot of Mental distress due to inordinate delays, I would like the authorities to take up the matter and maintain the time table as mentioned, and avoid lot of incoveniance caused to the general public
