Indospice Reviews

Brian January 10, 2011
Hostile workplace, poor supervision, poor training, unfair treatment
During my time at Indospice, an Indian Restaurant, in 2010 it seemed that I was hired to be mobbed out. This is an extremely unprofessional and dangerous practice known as workplace mobbing (constructive discharge) or scapegoating. This is done to make the managers and restaurant appear professional, superior, and legitimate when they are actually not doing good. It is only an illusion: nobody these days is tricked by it. People can post online complaints or make reports to EEOC to protect others from unfair treatment, harm, danger, and unprofessional work. Posts are meant to improve business and to stop unfair treatment. The problems with Indospice are listed here:

1) Extremely poor hiring practices. They hired me knowing I would need to be trained. Their training involved a lot of grumbling, grunting, poor communication, and ignoring. Very little eye contact was made with me and they provided absolutely no worker manual or patience during my learning experience. They made absurdly unfair demands and showed an unfriendly attitude during my learning experiences. They clearly overwork the waitstaff to the point of extreme exhaustion. They clearly need more waitstaff, designated and well-organized work hours, and much more organization and planning. They did not alert customers that I was in training mode. This left customers furious, confused, and annoyed.

2) Very rude co-workers. The co-workers (waitstaff) are ill-mannered, unfriendly, and almost always have a disgruntled scowl on their face. The co-workers micro-managed me in a very snide manner and make rude and uncalled for demands. Buckard is the elderly supervisor of the waitstaff, he yells and shouts, and throws tantrums when he does not get his way. He likes to embarrass me in front of customers, too. The old supervisor is clearly uneducated on proper supervision and training techniques. He trains half-way like a rude jerk and then leaves me ignored the rest of the time. This is his fault and it reflects on the managers, too. They should know this is a business. Businesses succeed because of excellent skills, excellent training, thorough communication, and friendly attitudes throughout each day.

3) The owners (managers) are two snide uncommunicative women who often stare off into space or avoid eye contact the majority of the time they are there. They hate to be asked questions. They grumble and hiss out quick demands under their breath, to the point where you cannot hear them. They walk away in the middle of conversations which is incredibly rude and unhelpful; they also hate to repeat themselves which makes work much more difficult. They are also very ignorant of hiring, supervising, and training practices. People who are to be trained must wear a badge that says "in training"; then the owners need to assign tasks that the trainee is very good at only, do not make the trainee do tasks he or she has not been trained in or is not good at yet; give friendly feedback at the end of the each day and during the training, and provide a worker manual with basic directions, steps, goals, safety rules, and a mission. Everyone should have their own job tasks specifically stated in the worker manual to prevent disorganization and blurring of job tasks. Co-workers should not butt in, make demands, or cause annoyances. That is very unprofessional, rude, disrespectful, and can result in many nasty problems and it will slow business down.

4)Dishonest. They come across as very dishonest with intent to cause problems and to discriminate. What I witnessed was a lot of very bad business ethics and very bad business practice.

Do not work here. If you work here and feel harassed or discriminated against please report them to EEOC at 214 253 2700 or Texas Workforce Commission 1-512-463-2642. They will help make business practices function better.

What I experienced was most likely constructive discharge which is unfair treatment and against your civil rights. Be sure to report to EEOC or Texas Workforce Commission if you encounter an atmosphere of hostility, unfair treatment, constructive discharge, or discrimination when you were employed by Indospice.
