i am forwarding this message on behalf of my daughter joanne imbert. We signed a photoshoot contract with industry model and talent studios. The amount for the deal was $950. That night we only paid half so we deposited $475 and said that we would pay the rest, that following week. They said that we had to cancel the whole deal a within 3 business days if we wanted our money back. We signed the contract on friday night around 8pm on feburary 15, 2007. Saturday and sunday didnt count as business days and the following monday was a holiday(valentines day). We cancelled the contract on tuesday and they said that we couldnt get our money back because they counted weekends and holidays as business days. They specifically stated that they don't follow government rules, that those days were counted, and following that statement, they hung up the phone. Those days weren't legal business days, and thats what everyone goes by. Friends of ours trying to get into the modeling industry have gotten into the same situations. We would like to try and get our money back because we cancelled within the 3 business days. The reason for cancelling the contract was because the contract basically stated that we would go to the shoot, they keep our pictures and market us without letting us know and we dont get paid. And if we wanted the pictures we would have to pay extra after the $950 we already would have to pay.
