This is a copy of the complaint I am sending Craigslist:
Infinite Talent USA posts in the Los Angeles Craigslist gigs section claiming they have work for models. I submitted for "work", and was requested to come in for an interview yesterday afternoon. I met with Heather Duback "the opener" yesterday, and was request back for a "2nd interview" to speak with Camille "the closer" today. I was pleased to find out I got "accepted" for representation... albeit, my thrill was brief. Camille went on to reveal that they weren't hiring, despite what their ad implied, and they weren't even an agency. In fact, they don't have any jobs available, however for $30/month + plus any "additional services" as they think needed (IE. photos with their photographer), I could be put on their website and submit myself for potential work. This is absolutely not what I was lead to believe. On the very basic level, are a SERVICE not a gig, and shouldn't be posting their false adds in this section.
However, it doesn't stop there. Upset that their false print cost me two days of work + 4 hours of travel time/gas, I decided to seek out their CEO's information, and write a complaint letter. I believe, as their ad was under false pretenses, that I have the right to request compensation for my lost time. During this process of investigation, I found out:
1. Their business, Infinite Talent LLC, under Heather's name, status reads as canceled.
2. And secondly, the net, including rip-off, is flooded with multiple counts of fraud and unethical business practices, scamming people out of an upwards of $750/each.
Below are two of their current ads. I've read that they change their name and move locations when found out, so I'm not sure what the long term solution is. However, if you could please do your part to put a stop to this, I'm sure a lot of people would be spared playing victim in a scam. Feel free to forward this email to any legal organization that could help put a stop to this as well. Thank you.
